MY ANSWER

Do you see any signs of spiritual revival in our country (or anywhere else)? I get so discouraged at the way the world seems to be going.
Billy Graham writes, "God is at work in many parts of the world, and we should be encouraged by this."

MY ANSWER

Do you think we'll ever get back to the days when they allowed prayer in our public schools?
Billy Graham writes, "I know this is a complicated political and legal issue, and I have no way of knowing if we will ever return to the patterns of the past."

MY ANSWER

Do you think it does any good to pray for spiritual revival?
Billy Graham writes, "Several times in our history, strong waves of revival did sweep through our nation. Not only were large numbers of people converted to Christ, but our society was changed as believers attacked social ills like child labor and slavery."

MY ANSWER

What do you think the world is going to be like a hundred years from now?
Billy Graham writes, "If you and I had been living 100 years ago and someone had asked us this same question, I'm sure we would have missed the mark almost completely!"

MY ANSWER

I don't see what right we have to impose our religion on others. After all, they have their own religions, don't they?
Billy Graham writes, "If you could talk with the missionaries your church supports, I suspect you'd come away with a different view."

MY ANSWER

Last week, someone found a new baby in an abandoned car in our city, apparently left to die. How could anyone do this to a helpless child?
Billy Graham writes, "Situations like this are tragic, and I have no doubt that they break the heart of God. Any type of child abuse is wrong in God's eyes, and what happened to this infant is abuse of the worst kind."

MY ANSWER

Is it true that Jesus said we will always have poverty in the world?
Billy Graham writes, "You're probably thinking of Jesus' words in John 12:8: 'You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me.' ... But Jesus wasn't saying we shouldn't fight poverty or help those in need."

MY ANSWER

Why do some people seem to be almost like a different person when they get behind the steering wheel?
Billy Grahm writes, "I don't know why some people become different behind the steering wheel. Perhaps it has to do with their impatience; perhaps it's related somehow to a feeling of power they get when they're driving."

MY ANSWER

One of my relatives said I have a God-given responsibility to vote. Is he right?
Billy Graham writes, "If everyone stayed home from the polls and neglected to vote, our system of government soon would come to an end. Eventually we would lose our freedoms and end up with some type of dictatorship."

MY ANSWER

Do you think there's any hope for a better world? It seems like no matter what we do the world just gets worse and worse.
Billy Graham writes, "If our hearts weren't filled with greed and anger and lust and selfishness, our conflicts would vanish and our wars would cease."

MY ANSWER

Are cults still popular?
Billy Graham writes, "Almost every week, I get letters from people who've gotten involved in a cult or know of someone (such as a family member) who has."

MY ANSWER

My wife and I were very disturbed that God wasn't even mentioned at our friend's recent funeral.
Billy Graham writes, "I suspect this is much more common today than in previous generations, because over time, our society has become much more secular and materialistic."

MY ANSWER

Did God know the human race was going to end up fighting and killing each other and so forth? If so, why did He bother to make us?
Billy Graham writes, "God made us because He loved us, and He wanted us to love Him in return."

MY ANSWER

I'm very concerned about all the reports I read about global warming and us poisoning the environment and things like that. Do you believe we are in danger of destroying the world?
Billy Graham writes, "The Bible clearly commands us to take care of the world God created, and we ought to do all we can to protect our environment."

MY ANSWER

I believe every generation needs to make up its own mind what is wrong and what is right. After all, there are lots of things that people used to think were wrong that are widely accepted today.
Billy Graham writes, "It's true that our society tolerates ways of behavior today that would have been rejected a few generations ago—but does that make them right?"

MY ANSWER

Our pastor is working to do something for the National Day of Prayer. The world is in such bad shape that I wonder if it does any good. What do you think?
You are right: Our world is filled with conflicts and injustices and we must not be complacent about them. But have you ever thought about how much worse the world might be if God's people refused to pray?
