MY ANSWER

When I was younger, I was very active in my church, but now I feel so useless. Why doesn't God just take me home to heaven?
Billy Graham writes, "God knows your limitations, and He knows you can't do everything you once did—nor does He expect you to. But as long as He keeps you on this earth, you aren't useless!"

MY ANSWER

Last month I finally got out of jail, after becoming a Christian while there. I'm afraid no church will accept me because of my background. What would you do?
Billy Graham writes, "It's very important for you to link up with other Christians who can encourage and help you. Satan will do everything he can to discourage you or drag you back into your old ways—and one of our strongest defenses against him is other believers."

MY ANSWER

I believe in Jesus, but my faith isn't as strong as I wish it were, and sometimes I do things I know I shouldn't. How can I develop a strong faith?
Billy Graham writes, "Faith doesn't come to any of us easily or automatically, any more than a garden or orchard grows easily and without careful attention and hard work. But God's plan is for us to grow in our faith, and not be stuck in the same spiritual rut all our lives."

MY ANSWER

I grew up in church, but left when I left home, I wish I had a church, but I’m afraid I’ll feel like an outsider. Can you understand my fear of being rejected?
Billy Graham writes, "Yes, I can understand your fear—and in a far deeper way, so can God. After all, Jesus knew what it was to be rejected and misunderstood; the Bible says, 'He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering' (Isaiah 53:3)."

MY ANSWER

I just can't seem to get my life headed in the right direction. God must be very disappointed in me. What suggestions do you have?
Billy Graham writes, "The most important thing I can tell you is that God not only wants you to become a better person, but He also wants to help you achieve it."

MY ANSWER

I've always wondered where all the different churches and denominations came from. Why don't they agree on everything?
Billy Graham writes, "One reason there are so many different churches and denominations in our nation is because we live in a country that practices religious freedom."

MY ANSWER

Sometimes my faith is strong but sometimes it's weak. How can I have a stronger faith?
Billy Graham writes, "The most important thing I can tell you is that God wants you to have a strong faith. He doesn't want us to be spiritually weak and wavering!"

MY ANSWER

I visited a church that said you had to be a member before you could take communion. Do they believe people from other churches aren't Christians?
Billy Graham writes, "No, not necessarily (although I can't answer for them, of course). In my experience, churches that limit communion to their own members usually do so for other reasons, and they aren't implying that no one else is a Christian."

MY ANSWER

I know you get lots of letters from prisoners, but being a prisoner's wife is just as hard. I don't have a question, but I hope you'll pray for us.
Billy Graham writes, "Thank you for your letter, and I hope many who are reading this will stop and pray for you and for others who have a family member in prison."

MY ANSWER

I guess I'm kind of a "church hopper" because I'm always changing churches and never seem to find one that satisfies me. Why can't I find the right church?
Billy Graham writes, "Have you ever stopped to ask yourself exactly what makes you dissatisfied with the churches you attend? Are the people less friendly than you had hoped, or is the music not to your liking?"

MY ANSWER

We have four children, all adults now, and not one of them has anything to do with church. Is there anything we can do to change their attitude?
Billy Graham writes, "The most important thing you can do is to pray for your children. Sometimes, I find, parents pray faithfully for their children when they are young, but then fail to keep praying as they grow older."

MY ANSWER

I know I ought to go to church, but I don't because I'm a single mother and I don't have any extra money to buy nice clothes. I don't need people looking down on me.
Billy Graham writes, "I sincerely hope you won't allow these fears to cut you off from church. You need spiritual encouragement and help, and one of the most important ways you can receive these is through fellowship with God's people."

MY ANSWER

I don't have any interest joining a church, but I consider myself as good a Christian as a lot of the church members I know. Isn't this what God really expects of us?
Billy Graham writes, "God certainly wants us to live lives that are good and pure—and if we honestly have given ourselves to Christ, this should be our goal. The Bible says, 'So we make it our goal to please him' (2 Corinthians 5:9)."

MY ANSWER

My husband doesn't care if the children and I go to church but he doesn't want anything to do with it. How can I explain this to our children?
Billy Graham writes, "You don't say how old your children are, but if they are still quite young the best approach is to be as positive as you can under the circumstances."

MY ANSWER

Our church is trying to get a group together to visit some of the local nursing homes. I've never been around older people much and I wonder if I'll be able to relate to them.
Billy Graham writes, "If you were in their position, wouldn't you be happy to see a smiling face and have someone take an interest in you?"

MY ANSWER

It's been a hard year financially for our family, and I don't see how we can afford to pledge anything towards our church's annual budget fund. Would this be wrong?
Billy Graham writes, "God knows what you can and cannot give; He also knows how much you must have to meet your family's needs during the coming year."

MY ANSWER

I stopped going to church because I've almost lost my hearing and eyesight, and it's really difficult for me to get there. Am I wrong to do this?
Billy Graham writes, "God knows all about your disabilities, and He also knows what you can and cannot do at this stage of your life."

MY ANSWER

I don't care if my parents want to be Christians, but they ought to let me choose my own path.
Billy Graham writes, "Have you ever asked yourself exactly why they are so upset over your decision to turn your back on their Christian faith?"

MY ANSWER

I am a new Christian with a lot of questions, but I'm afraid to ask people at church because I don't want them to think I'm dumb or something.
Billy Graham writes, "You shouldn't hesitate to ask questions of those who can help you understand more of what it means to belong to Jesus."

MY ANSWER

The kids I am teaching at church don't seem to take anything seriously, and I feel like I'm wasting my time. Am I wrong?
Billy Graham writes, "God has promised that when we teach His Word, our efforts are never in vain."
