MY ANSWER

Why do Christians keep claiming that they alone have the truth about God?
Billy Graham writes, "God is the source of all truth—and He has revealed the truth about Himself to us. Christians believe God did this in a way that staggers our imagination: He became a human being."

MY ANSWER

Our 6-year-old son asked us this: "If God created everything, then who created God?"
Billy Graham writes, "God had no beginning, nor will He ever come to an end."

MY ANSWER

I see people who've done a lot worse things than I have, and yet they never have any problems. How do you explain this, if God is supposed to be just?
Billy Graham writes, "Yes, sometimes life seems unfair. But when we focus on Christ and not our circumstances we begin to see life from a different point of view."

MY ANSWER

I've tried and tried to find God, but I don't feel like I've been successful. Maybe God doesn't want me or something. What would you say to someone like me?
Billy Graham writes, "If you had been the only person on earth who needed to be saved, Jesus Christ still would have been willing to die for you. God loves you that much!"

MY ANSWER

My friend says she can't believe in a God who would send people to hell, because a loving God wouldn't do that. What can I say to her?
Billy Graham writes, "The most important thing I can urge you to do is to pray for your friend, that God will open her eyes to His truth and help her understand her own spiritual need."

MY ANSWER

Our two young boys are at the age when they are asking all sorts of questions, including questions about God. Where can we find some answers?
Billy Graham writes, "Don't feel that you always have to give a full, detailed answer to their questions about God ... often a simple answer will satisfy them—and even be more understandable."

MY ANSWER

How do you know there is only one God?
Billy Graham writes, "He has not left us to guess what He is like; He has shown Himself to us. He did this supremely by coming down to earth in the person of His only Son, Jesus Christ."

MY ANSWER

I don't believe God is out there somewhere; I believe He is inside each of us.
Billy Graham writes, "God is too great and too vast to be limited to our own spirits or souls. God is the Creator of the whole universe."

MY ANSWER

Why did people decide centuries ago to believe that Jesus also was God?
Billy Graham writes, "Thomas, for example, didn't believe Jesus had come back from the dead, but once he saw the risen Christ, he immediately exclaimed, "My Lord and my God!" (John 20:28)."

MY ANSWER

Does God ever change His mind about anything?
Billy Graham writes, "The Bible tells us that God is perfect and all-knowing, and even when He apparently changes His mind, He is actually carrying out what He intended to do all along."

MY ANSWER

I'm 10 years old, and it seems like the only people in our family who are religious are old. Is God just for old people?
Billy Graham writes, "No, God isn't just for old people! People of all ages need God, and the Bible especially urges young people to 'Remember your Creator.'"

MY ANSWER

Does God ever give up on us?
Billy Graham writes, "The person who is in the most danger spiritually is the one who doesn't care about his or her spiritual state. Don't let that ever become true of you!"

MY ANSWER

Does God know everything, or are there some things He doesn't know (like what's going to happen in the future)?
Billy Graham writes, "Yes, God knows everything—including the future. Theologians call this God's 'omniscience'—which simply means that He is all-knowing."

MY ANSWER

Our pastor quoted a verse the other day about secret things belonging to God. What do you suppose it means?
Billy Graham writes, "Your pastor was probably quoting a verse from the Old Testament which says, 'The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law' (Deuteronomy 29:29)."

MY ANSWER

There is so much evil in the world. Why doesn't God do something about it if He is really all-powerful?
Billy Graham writes, "I still don't know the full answer. But I do know this: God is real—but so is Satan, and the evil we see all around us comes from him, not from God."

MY ANSWER

I've just been in shock about the damage done by Hurricane Katrina. Why did God let it happen—or does He even care?
Billy Graham writes, "I do know this: God cares very deeply about every person whose life has been touched by this tragedy. In the midst of their suffering and hardship, God has not abandoned them."

MY ANSWER

How do you know Jesus was really divine?
Billy Graham writes, "The final proof of Jesus' divine nature was His resurrection from the dead. Anyone could claim to be the Son of God, but only Christ proved it by coming back from the grave."

MY ANSWER

How do you explain the fact that the Bible says in one place that God can't look at evil, while in another place it says that God sees everything?
Billy Graham writes, "No, it isn't a contradiction—not at all. When the Bible says God can't look at evil, it means that He can't tolerate or endure it, and it is an offense to Him."

MY ANSWER

Is there life on other planets?
Billy Graham writes, "The Bible's focus is on us and our relationship with God. If there is life elsewhere in the universe, it is there because God created it, and it is just as dependent on Him as we are for its existence."

MY ANSWER

How can you prove the existence of God? The answer is, you can't. Atheism is the only sane belief, in my view.
Billy Graham writes, "Over the years, I've met many leading scientists and other intellectuals who not only believed in God, but told me they had concluded it was far more logical to believe in God than to disbelieve in Him."
