MY ANSWER

The other day I was downloading a song and suddenly realized that it talks a lot about the devil. Will this hurt me spiritually?
Billy Graham writes, "One of the signs that God is working in your life is that you have become sensitive to things like this, and Satan would like nothing better than for you to ignore what God is trying to tell you."

MY ANSWER

Who is stronger in your opinion, God or Satan? I suppose you'll say God, but I wonder about that, because the devil sure has a lot of control over my life.
Billy Graham writes, "Satan is powerful and we need to take him seriously—but God is more powerful, and someday His victory will be complete."

MY ANSWER

Do you believe the devil is real, or is he just a symbol for evil?
Billy Graham writes, "Yes, the devil is real. He is not just a symbol for evil, nor is he an imaginary figure that people dreamed up to explain the existence of evil. Evil is real—and so is Satan or the devil."

MY ANSWER

Every time I start to commit myself to Jesus, I begin thinking of all the questions I have and whether I'm strong enough to be a Christian, and I end up not doing anything.
Billy Graham writes, "Did it ever occur to you that this is exactly the way the devil wants you to act? He doesn't want you to give your life to Jesus and will do everything he can to keep you from it."

MY ANSWER

I've always been curious about where evil comes from, and the devil, and things like that.
Billy Graham writes, "The first truth the Bible tells us about the devil is that he is real, and he is our enemy. Jesus said that the devil 'was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him' (John 8:44)."

MY ANSWER

If God is in control of everything, why do bad things happen to us? I'd like to believe in God, but I just can't understand this.
Billy Graham writes, "I've been asked hundreds of times why God allows evil to take place, and I have to tell you honestly that I do not know the answer—not fully."

MY ANSWER

Do you think we can communicate with those who’ve died? I lost my husband last year, and I long to hear his voice again. Why shouldn’t I try this?
Billy Graham writes, "I understand your heartache (and so does God), but I urge you not to pursue this path. The Bible warns us against having anything to do with someone 'who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead' (Deuteronomy 18:11)."

MY ANSWER

If God will save anyone who repents, does this mean the devil could be saved if he repented? Should we even pray for the devil so he'll repent?
Billy Graham writes, "No, there's no reason for us to pray for the devil to have a change of heart and be converted."

MY ANSWER

If God loved us He wouldn't let disasters like Hurricane Katrina take place. How can anyone believe God cares for us when something like that happens?
Billy Graham writes, "I don't understand why God allows so much evil in the world. Someday we will understand—but not yet. But I do know this: Satan is responsible for the evil in the world, not God."

MY ANSWER

I know I ought to pray more, but it seems like every time I try to pray my mind begins to wander. Do you ever have this problem?
Billy Graham writes, "Your experience isn't unusual; I suspect many of us have found our minds wandering occasionally when we pray."

MY ANSWER

You answered a question about the possibility of Satan ending up in Heaven, and you said he wouldn't. Doesn't the Bible say that the devil believes in Jesus?
Billy Graham writes, "You are probably thinking of what the Bible says in James 2:19: 'You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.'"

MY ANSWER

I heard someone say the other day that more Christians are being persecuted today than ever before. Is that true?
Billy Graham writes, "In the last 100 years, more Christians have probably suffered and died for their faith than at any other time in the history of Christianity. Many of these cases go unreported—but even the reports we do get confirm this fact."

MY ANSWER

Where did Satan come from?
Billy Graham writes, "Unlike God, Satan hasn't always existed, nor is he all-powerful and all-knowing the way God is."

MY ANSWER

I'm in prison for the things I've done. How did I get so bad? Did the devil blind me?
Billy Graham writes, "The Bible talks about 'sin's deceitfulness'—because sin always deceives us into thinking we can get by with it."

MY ANSWER

Is the devil real? I suppose you'll say he is, but I've always been skeptical about the existence of the devil.
Billy Graham writes, "Although there is much about the devil we don't fully understand, the Bible makes it clear that he is absolutely evil, and ultimately he is behind all the evil that goes on in the world."

MY ANSWER

I have a hard enough time staying out of trouble now, and a friend of mine says the devil will get after me even harder if I give my life to Jesus. Is that true?
Billy Graham writes, "If we give our lives to Christ, we shouldn't be surprised if the devil will try to discourage us or even turn us away from God."

MY ANSWER

Why did God create the devil? He must have known the devil would turn against Him and do all sorts of evil things, didn't He?
Billy Graham writes, "The Bible doesn't tell us exactly why God created the angelic being who would one day become the one it calls Satan (which means "Adversary"—a vivid description of his purpose). It does, however, hint to us ..."

MY ANSWER

Why doesn't the devil just let people alone, instead of trying to win them over to his side? Doesn't he know he's going to be defeated?
Billy Graham writes, "Yes, Satan is devoting himself to a lost cause ... I sometimes wonder if perhaps Satan actually believes his own lies, and has convinced himself that he will win. After all, his followers can be like that."

MY ANSWER

My friend blames the devil for his wild life. Is he right? Or should he take more responsibility for his actions?
Billy Graham writes, "You are right; your friend should accept more responsibility for his actions. While Satan does tempt us and tries to lead us astray, the Bible makes it clear that we alone are responsible for our sins."

MY ANSWER

How can I be on guard when I don't know when or how the Devil's going to attack me? Or should I even worry about this?
Billy Graham writes, "Yes, you should be concerned about this because Satan is real, and his primary goal is to block God's work in our lives. ... As a general principle, the devil always tries to find out where we are weak ..."
