Troy Norton Joins 106.9 The Light as Morning Radio Co-Host

ASHEVILLE, N.C., January 18, 2012 —Regional Christian radio station 106.9 The Light has hired Troy Norton as co-host, joining Heather Shelley on the station’s morning show.
Norton, an entertainment industry veteran, marks his debut as a radio personality. “Troy is a guy whose joy for life imprints on everything he touches. Plus, he’s pretty funny. And it helps to have a sense of humor when you get up at 3:30 a.m.” says Jim Kirkland, executive director of 106.9 The Light.
“Like Heather, what impressed us most about Troy is a genuine heart for people; wanting to share in their everyday triumphs and challenges on the morning show.”
Troy and his wife, Rebecca, moved from Los Angeles to Asheville in 2007 to raise their twins in a family-friendly environment.
Prior to joining 106.9 The Light, Troy spent a large part of his professional career in front of the camera. He is nationally recognized as the host of HGTV’s Building Character, TimeLife Music, TV Guide, and for guest appearances on several hit television shows. He has also appeared in numerous children’s television shows, corporate training videos, Christian programs and films.
Troy and Rebecca are active members of Biltmore Baptist Church in Asheville, N.C., where Rebecca is a part-time therapist at the HOPE Network. The couple shares a passion for helping widows and orphans, and reaching people with the Gospel.
Listen to Troy Norton as he co-hosts “Mornings with Heather and Troy” from 5:15 – 9 a.m. on 106.9 The Light – WMIT-FM.
