Billy Graham TV Special Provides an Overview of the Ministry of the BGEA

Program focuses on how various ministries are impacting people around the world with the Good News of the Gospel

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — “This is your moment and it may never come again.” These words from Franklin Graham, President and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA), echo the voices of many Christians.

In the next television special from the BGEA, airing through August 31 online and on national Christian networks, Christian recording artist Rebecca St. James leads a round-table discussion with Franklin Graham and leaders of the BGEA. The program examines ministries reaching people with the Gospel, including the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team, Dare to Be a Daniel, Franklin Graham Festivals, and the My Hope World Evangelism Through Television project.

“People are looking for hope, and you can only find hope in Christ,” says Jack Munday, Director of the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team, which was created out of a need for emotional and spiritual care after the World Trade Center attacks in New York in 2001. Footage from recent disasters and interviews with survivors help tell the story of how the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team is reaching out to those in despair. As one chaplain said, their purpose is to, “make sure that everybody that is suffering knows that there is love, hope and compassion in their Lord Jesus Christ.”

“There is a God that loves you, that desires to come along side of you when you just might need Him most.” This statement, from Munday, can be translated across every ministry effort of the BGEA.

Sarah, a student participant in the youth evangelistic program Dare to Be a Daniel, knows that no matter how good you are at something, you still need training. That is why she took the Daniel journey, and shares her experience in the television special. The program teaches children who already have a relationship with God to reach their friends with relevant language. “You can be an awesome Christian and really know God, but that training just helps you; gives you that step up that you didn’t have before. It gives you a nice easy game plan,” says Sarah, “and you know what to say.”

Whether through Franklin Graham’s Festivals, the My Hope international television ministry, Billy Graham Rapid Response Team, Dare to Be a Daniel, or one of the several other ministries, people around the world are being reached with the Gospel through the efforts of programs and supporters of the BGEA.

“The world is changing so fast,” says Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the BGEA. “As we go down the road we’re looking for ways to touch lives for Christ with the Gospel.”
