Billy Graham Featured On Familynet, Sirius Channel 161, Starting In 2009
Weekly and Daily Programs to Feature Classic Sermons and Compelling Content from Billy Graham Training Center
Bold, dynamic Christian teaching will be added to satellite radio in 2009, as part of a new collaboration between an international evangelism ministry and SIRIUS Satellite Radio’s only Christian teaching channel. Starting January 4, 2009, the weekly “Billy Graham Classics” radio program featuring timeless sermons by the world-famous evangelist will air each Sunday, 8 to 9 p.m. EST, on FamilyNet Radio, SIRIUS Channel 161. The 60-minute program will also include updates on exciting new projects of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) and invite listeners to contact the ministry for prayer. Starting in April, a new radio program, “Billy Graham Presents An Evening at The Cove” will run daily, Monday through Friday, from 7 to 8 p.m. EST. This program will feature leading Bible teachers from the Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove in Asheville, N.C., excerpts from classic Billy Graham or Franklin Graham sermons, and an update on current BGEA ministry outreach. “We are thrilled to work with such a committed, faithful organization in FamilyNet,” said Jim Kirkland, director of radio for BGEA. “Given that Billy Graham has always made a commitment to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ by ‘every effective means available,’ reaching the growing audience of satellite radio was a perfect fit.” "FamilyNet is honored that the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association would invite FamilyNet to be America’s first radio home of ‘Billy Graham Classics,’” said Scott Miller, director of programming for FamilyNet. “Many of our listeners have been touched by the life and ministry of Billy Graham, and we consider it a privilege to be a part of bringing BGEA programming to the listeners of SIRIUS Satellite Radio." The 2009 venture will not be the first time that FamilyNet and the BGEA have joined together to offer programming to their listening audience. On November 7, 2008, in honor of Billy Graham’s 90th birthday, FamilyNet broadcast live from BGEA headquarters in Charlotte, N.C. and featured several interviews with key ministry leaders. About BGEA The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) proclaims the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ throughout the world by every effective means available.
