TV Program Honoring Ruth Bell Graham to Re-Air Sept. 6-14
Special tribute to wife of Rev. Billy Graham includes new features, interviews with family, friends and classic footage
One of the most popular TV programs produced by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) will be re-broadcast in cities across the U.S. September 6-14. “Celebrating Ruth Bell Graham,” a moving tribute to the wife of one of 20th century’s most prominent evangelists, will air in more than 135 markets and on five national networks, including Trinity Broadcasting Network. Local listings can be found at www.billygraham.org/TV. Viewers will learn about this unique woman who captured the heart of Billy Graham. The program, which ran for the first time in December 2007, chronicles Ruth’s adventurous life, from her childhood in China to her more than sixty years of marriage with “America’s pastor.” Mrs. Graham passed away June 14, 2007 at the age of 87. Most of the program’s content aired in the original broadcast last year, including interviews with former first lady Barbara Bush, bestselling author Jan Karon, each of the Grahams’ five children and Rev. Graham himself, who called her “the greatest Christian I’ve ever known.” All of the interviews highlight the warm and loving spirit of Ruth Bell Graham. “I loved Ruth Graham, and it was very easy to love Ruth Graham,” says Barbara Bush in the TV Special. “And I think that it was because she was so real.” The program also includes new footage of Franklin Graham, son of Billy and Ruth and CEO of BGEA, from his May 2008 trip to China, where he spoke to 12,000 people at the country’s largest church. Also featured are music videos from Christian recording-artist Fernando Ortega, Dove Award-winning group Avalon, as well as a musical performance from Grammy winners Bill and Gloria Gaither. For a limited time, this tribute to Ruth Bell Graham will be available for purchase to the public by calling 1-800-631-7141 or visiting www.billygraham.org/TV.
