Rock the City Rocks North Charleston Coliseum

High Energy Concert Part of Lowcountry Franklin Graham Festival

The North Charleston Coliseum was equal parts rock concert and sanctuary on Sunday night as the Lowcountry Franklin Graham Festival sponsored “Rock the City” for area teens and students. More than 3,250 enjoyed music by hip hop/rap group Group 1 Crew and punk band Hawk Nelson. The area in front of the stage was filled with young people jumping up and down and dancing to the music, singing along with the popular Christian artists. Between the two musical acts, Will Graham, son of Franklin Graham and grandson of world renowned evangelist Billy Graham, shared a message of hope and purpose. “There are some of you tonight who don’t know what your purpose on earth is,” said Graham. “God has a purpose for you, and you need to come to Him.” More than 300 streamed forward as Graham invited them to make a commitment to Jesus Christ. “You aren’t coming to Will Graham. I can’t save you,” he said. “You’re coming to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.” The Lowcountry Franklin Graham Festival will begin its four week Christian Life & Witness Course at churches across the region on May 12. The class, which trains Christians on how to live their life for Christ and share their faith with others, is often cited as one of the most beneficial parts of the Festival preparation process. “Rock the City” and the Christian Life & Witness Classes are just two of the many events leading up to the Lowcountry Franklin Graham Festival, which will be held in the North Charleston Coliseum, September 19-21, 2008. The Lowcountry Franklin Graham Festival is a not-for-profit organization operating under the leadership of a local Festival Committee and co-Chairmen Paul Everett and Curtis Bostic. - 30 - FOR INFORMATION CONTACT: Erik Ogren (704) 577-2109 Paula Mullen (843) 343-4147
