Local Volunteers Gearing Up for the Pacific Northwest Franklin Graham Festival at the Tacoma Dome
Volunteers representing more than 150 churches from across the Tacoma area are helping to lay the foundation for the Pacific Northwest Franklin Graham Festival, scheduled for Nov. 2-4 at the Tacoma Dome. "Everyone is invited to this event," said Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and the international Christian relief organization Samaritan's Purse. "There are art festivals, music festivals and food festivals—why not have a festival for the soul?" During the three-day event at the Tacoma Dome, Franklin Graham will present an encouraging nightly message with the help of top musical guests and a choir comprised of hundreds of local volunteers from a variety of area churches. The festival includes a special Saturday morning KidzFest event for children and a Student Night youth event on Saturday evening. Since 1989, Franklin Graham has held an average of six Festivals a year as an evangelist for the BGEA. Graham recently conducted Festivals in Panama City, Panama (Feb. 22-24); Norfolk, Va. (May 18-20); Binghamton, N.Y. (June 8-10); Kiev, Ukraine (July 6-8); and Guayaquil, Ecuador (Aug. 23-25). His remaining 2007 Festival schedule includes Busan, Korea (Oct. 18-21); Tacoma, Wash. (Nov. 2-4); and Hong Kong, China (Nov. 29-Dec. 2).
