BGEA Facts Telecasts For four months in 1957, Billy Graham’s New York Crusade in Madison Square Garden was televised on the ABC network from coast-to-coast. After that first broadcast, 25,000 letters were mailed to Billy Graham. By the end of the crusade, over one and one-half million letters were received, 30,000 of which confirmed a commitment to Christ. Since then, television has been used to extend Billy Graham crusades and has become one of BGEA’s most effective means of evangelism. Television specials featuring Billy Graham Crusades and Franklin Graham Festivals are broadcast in prime time on an average of 150 stations across the United States and Canada five to seven times annually. |
