Use Your Time Wisely

January 30, 2013

For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
–James 4:14

Nothing takes God by surprise. Everything is moving according to a plan; and God wants you in that plan. The devil also has a plan for the world. God has a plan and the devil has a plan, and you will have to decide which plan you are going to fit into. Scripture says that God allows us 70 years and some beyond. The first 15 are spent in childhood and early adolescence. Twenty years are spent in bed; and in the last five, physical limitations start to curtail our activities. That gives us about 30 years in which to live as adults. We take time out for eating, and for figuring our taxes, and we are down to perhaps 15 years. Now suppose we spend seven of those years watching television. That cuts us down to seven or eight years. Our time is short! The time we can invest for God, in creative things, in reaching our fellowmen for Christ, is short!

Prayer for the day

Each hour of every day that is left of this earthly life, I would spend serving You, Lord Jesus. Forgive the time spent so often in needless endeavor.

God has a better plan for me, and it is heaven and eternal life. Satan's plan will destroy me and I will burn in hell and then be gone forever. God's plan is my choice.

Reminds me of the old gospel song "Wasted Years". Lord forgive me. "Teach me to number my days that I may present to You a heart of wisdom."

When I was a young man I recall hearing older folks commenting on how quickly the years had flown by. I now understand and see the importance of making every day count by trying to set a Godly example for those who are still searching.

Every hour that passes, blood is being shed in war to stop sin. That not the true light of God. The only blood shed that can bring us peace is the blood Christ shed (his own), lets preach the blood of Jesus.

Peggy says 1.30.2011, 5:46 p.m.

I'm 60 and finding that Jesus is using me more and more...don't ever give up! Thank you, Billy for your faith and works-your crusades brought me to Jesus! And while the ongoing work with the youth and around the world is great, I feel we need to reach out to those other souls in this country that still desperately need God's love, but may not have the love of the "Rock the River" music... God bless you all and your ministry.

Bonnie says 1.30.2011, 09:50 a.m.

I have been studying God's word for over twenty-five years, and I am from the school of the Holy Ghost. I believe from having the priviledge of viewing Billy Grahams sermons from the 1940's, and through the decades that he has been in ministry he is a prophet of God.

THOMAS PRABHAKARAN says 1.30.2011, 09:07 a.m.

Dear Sir, Dr Graham is correct that I should serve god between 25-45 which is prime age and after that the health is on the decline. I did the same and now I am 66 Yrs of age and feel my physical limitations.

lloyd says 1.30.2011, 09:02 a.m.

Jesus is coming soon. We don't know when, all we could do is look and pray.

Gerry says 1.30.2011, 07:02 a.m.

Life is full of lots of regrets, things you did......... and things you didn't do. As long as your alive its not too late. However, time is brief so when God calls do your very best with whatever time you have left. Everyones contribution matters.

Doug says 1.30.2011, 06:24 a.m.

Pray that Jesus will use you in all you do and in being a blessing to the people you come in contact with each day! Have fun letting God use you I am amazed at the little things he gets me into each day that could only be by the hand of God leading me! I am truly blessed that he even uses someone like me! How Jesus loves us so I don't understand, But some day I will see his face and what a day that will be! Thank you precious Lord Jesus please bless all who read this and visit the Blessed site of Billy and family.

sam says 1.30.2011, 03:52 a.m.

In the end, it will be the time spent in fellowship with God which will count.

vonnie says 1.30.2011, 02:21 a.m.

Amen. What a reminder of how much time I've wasted and how little time we have!

Lois says 1.30.2011, 01:34 a.m.

May this word open your eyes.

mick says 1.29.2011, 10:29 a.m.

Please don't waste your remaining lifetime! We, and I am at the top of the list, have done a very poor job of managing so far.
