Unbreakable

November 14, 2013

. . . but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
–Joshua 24:15

The basic unit of any society is the home. When the home begins to break, the society is on the way to disintegration. Thousands of homes are almost on the rocks. Many couples are fearful lest their home, too, will be broken some day. There is one great insurance policy that you can take out, in order to guarantee the unity and happiness of your home. It is simple: Make Christ the center of your home.

A home is like a solar system. The center, the great sun, holds the solar system together. If it were not for the sun, the solar system would fly to pieces. Unless the Son of God is put at the center of your home, it, too, may fly to pieces.

Prayer for the day

How easy it is to push You to one side, Lord, and superficially remember Your blessings. May we always keep You at the center of all that we do in our homes.

God created family first here and then instituted worship. sometimes we forget this. The worship has to start at home and then take it to Church. The family is the small body of Christ and many of such bodies meet together in corporate worship. Thanks for today's message and may God fill my family with his Spirit today

The devotional brings to mind the familiar old hymn and verse on Christ the solid rock we stand all other ground is sinking sand.

My family and I have been struggling in many areas and have felt an attack on our family like none before in the past few weeks. This confirms what are daily prayer should be. Thank you!

Billy Graham.. My wife and I were born again at the 1988 Buffalo, NY Crusade. Thank you a million times over for your sacrifices and the plethora of books over the years. Our lives are witness to the truth of what can be, if, you make Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior. We have been faithful supporters ever since and we hope that when we lay at rest, Robin Marks song" When it's all been said and done" will hold true. God Bless you and your ministry, you are a true treasure to us!!!

Thank you and my family and doctors for their help

How often we push aside the family circle because we have "more pressing" things to do! shame on us!

I can testify to the truth of this message. Were God not at the center of our lives my marriage and relationships with my children would suffer greatly. When I have been at my wits end God has heard my prayer, intervened, and healed the cracks that had formed between members of my family in ways I never could.

Christ is the glue that holds the marriage and family unit together. There is no better way.

The message is apt in urging families to make Christ the center of their homes. God has blessed me with parents, who revered Christ. I still remember the sticker in my parents room that talked about the importance of family prayer. Do not know who quoted it, but the simple message "The family that prays together, stays together" had a lasting impact.
