Where Is Heaven?

October 23, 2013

I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me.
–Luke 22:29

Many people have asked, “Where is heaven?” We are not told in the Scripture where heaven is. Some students have tried to take some Scriptures and put them together and say that heaven is in the north. They quote Psalm 48:2, “The joy of the whole earth is . . . on the sides of the north . . . ” The magnetic needle points north. Perhaps the Celestial City is in the north. We do not know. But no matter where heaven is, it will be where Christ is.

Many people ask, “Do you believe that heaven is a literal place?” Yes! Jesus said, “I go to prepare a place for you.” The Bible teaches that Enoch and Elijah ascended in a literal body to a literal place that is just as real as Los Angeles, London, or Algiers! The Bible also teaches that heaven will be a place of beauty. It is described in the Bible as “a building of God”—“a city”—“a better country”—“an inheritance”—“a glory.”

The Bible also indicates that heaven will be a place of great understanding and knowledge of things that we never learned down here.

Prayer for the day

Living Lord Jesus, the knowledge that You have prepared a place for me in heaven brings comfort and delight to my soul!

Thank you Lord Jesus for making it possible, I am going to Heaven because I believe that you died for us, for the forgiveness of our sins and eternal life. What a Gift!!!

I believe Heaven could be in a different dimension. We as humans currently live in a human dimension. The spirits and the "Godly " people- the "Saved" who are in Heaven may live in a "Heavenly" dimension which we as mortal humans cannot see in our humanly dimension.

Dear Lord, Please let there be a turnaround. In your name I humbly ask.

Heaven is that place there we are together with Jesus. Where it is? That's not important for me, as long I can be together with Jesus and my loved ones! He has prepared a place for everyone of His children! Halleluja!

How exciting it will be to finally get to Heaven. To be in the presence of Almighty God. Re-united with believers who have gone ahead. One can only imagine ................

Heaven exists in our heart, where peace may rest without grief and regret. If we may find comfort in real life, crown the fullest man as a noble person.

For me, there should be a place that depicts the glory, holiness, and all the other numerous cherished attributes of God. The world as it is a now is full of many evil, blasphemy, shame and wickedness and undeserving of God's dwelling. A loving and merciful God won't permit His beloved to live in this wicked world forever. There should be a devinely holy place for God and His beloved to dwell forever and that place is heaven.
