The Mystery of Heaven

September 7, 2013

I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
–Psalm 23:6

What will heaven be like? Just as there is a mystery to hell, so there is a mystery to heaven. Yet I believe the Bible teaches that heaven is a literal place. Is it one of the stars? I don’t know, I can’t even speculate. The Bible doesn’t inform us. I believe that out there in space where there are one thousand million galaxies, each a hundred thousand light years or more in diameter, God can find some place to put us in heaven. I’m not worried about where it is. I know it will be where Jesus is. Christians don’t have to go around discouraged and despondent, with their shoulders bent. Think of it—the joy, the peace, the sense of forgiveness that He gives you, and then heaven, too.

Prayer for the day

Whatever I face, Lord, my heart rejoices in the knowledge of my ultimate destination—heaven— where I will live with You for eternity!

Oh, yes, I am waiting for Heaven so I can met Jesus and all my loved ones. My precious husband went to Heaven four years ago and waiting and praying for the time I can join him and others waiting at the pearly gate.

George says 9.7.2012, 10:53 a.m.

At one time, God and heaven were just stories told in the Bible. Now, I see that they are real, the Bible proves it over and over again.

I want to Thank God for letting Mr Wake up for another day to see his wonderful day he created. I look forward to the day that i see my parents again. I pray for my best friend. She is going through some tough times and she needs to have Jesus.

Rick says 9.7.2012, 09:32 a.m.

We are just strangers in a strange land. Our time on this earth is temporary. For those who believe in Jesus, eternity holds much less mystery than for those who do not. Praise God, He has made a way!

Selena says 9.7.2012, 08:58 a.m.

What a precious promise,Heaven,to those that know Jesus! Pray for anyone you know that doesn't have a relationship with Him,so they will live in that Promised Land one day too..

Gerry says 9.7.2012, 08:29 a.m.

I don't know where Heaven is but I know I will spend eternity there. God does not lie about anything . He wants everyone..... but leaves the choice up to each person. Accept his offer while you still have time.

Michael says 9.7.2012, 07:32 a.m.

Carolyn G. says 9.7.2012, 05:12 a.m.

Heaven means being with Jesus forever face to face. The love of our Savior will be enough to sustain us for all eternity and ruling with Him our greatest joy.

San says 9.7.2012, 02:07 a.m.

Heaven will be a place where we will be in the presence of Jesus. If we have tasted that the Lord is good,we know that it is beyond any description what heaven is really like.

Christopher says 9.16.2011, 08:47 a.m.

Heaven is a completely different dimension, in fact the scripture tells of the believer being raised and seated in the heaven-lies whilst on earth in a physical body. The believer is also in a heavenly dimension spiritually. We know earth through our flesh, but we know we are in a spiritual dimension spiritually. We entered that heavenly place immediately when we were born again. One day we will be there with our bodies!

For people who imitate Jesus with their whole life heaven was already in their heart.

My Mother and Father died within two years, three months and one day of each other. My Mother had a very serious stroke and was an invalid for more than 7 months. While I cared for her at home I fractured approximately 7 vertebrae, the only way that I could continue to care for her was to go to a pain management specialist. When my Father died, I had to leave the viewing early because I was so out of it due to the drugs and emotional pain. I quit the drugs. Now I live with constant pain in my back every moment of my life. I have quit going out I never know when I will have to get help from someone just to get to my van to try to drive home, yet I now face major surgery, and today I had eight teeth removed, because of the strength of the meds that I was on before and the continuing pain that I still suffer the the medication that they give me is like taking baby aspirin. The Billy Graham network has saved me. I still miss my parents and I still suffer, but at least I know now that I will see my parents again, they will not be in pain, my mother will be able to walk and my father will be able to breathe, and I will no longer be in pain nor will I have to take so many drugs just to get out of bed. Thank you so much to the Billy Graham organization for giving me the chance to believe in our Lord again, the courage to repent for my sins, to turn to the Bible and accept Christ in my life, and begin trying to live in a Christian way.

Joshua says 9.7.2011, 8:20 p.m.

Thank you Lord for this faithful servant....and thank you for these words on heaven....May The Lord be lifted up, in all that we say, do, and think....Glory to HIS name.

Phyllis says 9.7.2011, 7:14 p.m.

I believe that Heaven is invisible to the natural universe and not all that far away from earth. All the spaceships in all of the galaxies could not find it unless God wanted to make it visible. There are clues: Angels ascending and descending the stairway to Heaven were made visible to Jacob. Stephen looked up [from earth]saw Heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God. And many others.

Sandy says 9.7.2011, 4:13 p.m.

My best friend and I always tell each other to save a seat if you get to heaven first and I will save one for you if I am there first. Just words of endearment as we are prayer worriers for each other. Sometimes we all get 'off track' venting our worries, so we decided in emails and on the phone - whenever we are together, we would share at least one praise report to each other. We have been best friends since childhood. She has encouraged me tremendously and she says I do the same for her. Sharing, communication with love - forgiveness - hope - all God allows and He is #1 in our lives! God Bless!

Vickie says 9.7.2011, 11:24 a.m.

I'm looking forward to the day I can meet all the people who have prayed for me; that I might know the Lord Jesus Christ as my savior. I pray for my grandchildren and their children and so forth. Praying for them to know the Lord as their savior. that he will use them, that they might have Christian mates and a life of love as described in the Bible. I know, God has prepared a place in heaven for me.

Pam says 9.7.2011, 10:30 a.m.

The older I get the more I look forward to Heaven! To get to see my Lord and Saviour and all my family and friends that are there waiting.......so awesome! Thank you Jesus for eternal life and that this life here on earth and all it's problems is just temporary.

Nancy says 9.7.2011, 10:27 a.m.

"Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal " Oh what a day that will be .....when we see Jesus face to face..... "I can only imagine"

Cheryl says 9.7.2011, 10:10 a.m.

Having loved ones already there makes this truth so comforting. I like to think of my daughter happy, loved, free from Satan's constant attempts to tempt and hurt her, in Jesus presence and surrounded by beauty. I thank God that we are not of this world, just shopping for T-shirts for my son yesterday made me realize how much Satan and this world wants to sex up our kids. Praise God our 16 yr old son wanted nothing to do with the awful and explicit shirts and went to school this morning clothed in honor. Looking forward to Heaven...

Mohan says 9.7.2011, 09:19 a.m.

Hallelujah !!!

Adeline says 9.7.2011, 09:12 a.m.

God keeps heaven a secret because if we really knew what it was like, we would all leave this cursed place called planet earth...in due time we will be there, but only if we confess our sins and make Jesus Our Personal Savior...

Yvonne says 9.7.2011, 08:48 a.m.

It is so wonderful knowing that we do have heaven to go to where Jesus will be waiting with open arms for us. Thank you, Jesus...Amen

Gerry says 9.7.2011, 07:16 a.m.

Just the thought of Heaven brings great joy to my heart. No more problems , poor health, fighting hunger, etc............all that will be gone forever. Only Peace, Happiness, reuniting with loved ones who have gone ahead and so much more awaits the Child of God. All this in the very presence of our Heavenly Father and our Holy Savior Jesus Christ, for all Eternity. It doesn't get any better than that.

Les says 9.7.2011, 06:47 a.m.

Going to heaven should be everyone's ultimate goal.

Tim says 9.7.2011, 06:33 a.m.

To go to heaven is such a wonderful hope. Through Christ's death on the cross I will be there. When I begin to think of a total absence of pain, evil, toil, worry and all unpleasant things I long for heaven. When I think of being able to be with Christ one on one, I really long to go. Once my work here on earth is done I will see my reward. Praise God.

Magnhild says 9.7.2011, 06:22 a.m.

I don't think we ought to speculate where heaven is. For me, the most important is that heaven is the place where I'm going to meet The Lord face to face an thank Him for all the forgiveness and love he has given me.

NANA says 9.7.2011, 02:14 a.m.
