God's Provision

August 22, 2013

For we know that when this tent we live in now is taken down—when we die and leave these bodies—we will have wonderful new bodies in heaven, homes that will be ours forevermore, made for us by God himself, and not by human hands.
–2 Corinthians 5:1 (TLB)

Death, to the Christian, is the exchanging of a tent for a building. Here we are as pilgrims or gypsies, living in a frail, flimsy home; subject to disease, pain, and peril. But at death we exchange this crumbling, disintegrating tent for a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. The wandering wayfarer comes into his own at death and is given the title to a mansion which will never deteriorate nor crumble. Do you think that God, who has provided so amply for living, has made no provision for dying? The Bible says we are strangers in a foreign land. This world is not our home; our citizenship is in heaven. When a Christian dies, he goes into the presence of Christ. He goes to heaven to spend eternity with God.

Prayer for the day

Dear Lord, today keep me mindful that as Your child my real home is not on this earth, but that one day I will exchange this tent for a house made by You in heaven.

I am thankful that God has prepared a place for us in heaven where our souls are repleted and with furthermore than what we have now.I pray for the future then with great hope faith and belief that there is more than to what we are now.Thanks to God.

Indeed He is "preparing a dwelling place for us." We must keep our eyes on the Lord and cherish His promises in the law of the land in order to foster the ability for all to see God's Glory and limit the effects of disease, pain, and peril.

I lost my dear believing wife to cancer over 6 years ago....I still miss her...but one day I shall see her again - glorified and free of all sickness...there with her Heavenly Father. Thank you Jesus! Amen.

This is a wonderful, wonderful promise. If the Christian goes immediately to Heaven when he dies, when then is judgment? Isn't judgment to enter Heaven when Jesus comes?

What a Glorious day that will be, to meet my Heavenly Father and Holy Savior. To be re-united with saved loved ones who have gone ahead. To actually see Heaven with my own eyes. To replace this aging body with an eternal one that will not suffer from anything, ever. How can I ever possibly Thank You Lord for this Blessed Assurance ??
