Hunger for Righteousness

August 16, 2013

I will give to the thirsty the springs of the Water of Life—as a gift!
–Revelation 21:6 (TLB)

God says that only those who hunger after righteousness will receive it. God thrusts this heavenly manna on no one. You must desire it, above everything else. Your yearning for God must supersede all other desires. It must be like a gnawing hunger and a burning thirst.

Prayer for the day

Almighty God, my soul is parched and I’m so hungry without the spiritual food You so desire to give me. Take away anything in my life that would cause me not to give You pre-eminence.

Thank you, Dr Graham for your broadcasts. I gave my life to the Lord at age 15, after seeing Billy Graham film in high school. That was in the '70s. My, how times have changed! We need more people like you in this world.

thank you for today's devotion! I was reminded of one of my favorite Psalm's-42:1, as the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God.

My longtime friend says he professed Christ and was baptized at about thiriteen. He believes he knew what he was doing but nothing in his adult life has shown me that he loves the Lord. He is embittered and I pray he finds God again.

Ephesians 6:14 states we must put on the breastplate of righteousness. Our heart is protected by the breastplate to keep Satan from entering in. God searches our heart for our desire for righteousness must begin in our heart.

Amen.

Our son gave his life to God when he was young. But now as an adult, he has turned against Him. I pray our son will be thirsty to find how much God can do to help him along life's way.

God has blessed mankind with countless interesting things to enjoy in life , like nature, people , various hobbies, etc. . However it is essential that he never ends up in second place. He must remain pre-eminent above everything and everyone else.

surely the Grace of our Lord is sufficient. May He open the eyes of our hearts to see His gifts and the desire to claim them.

Whenever my soul was thirsty and hungry, I used to go to not God but things of the world. May I remember "Jesus Christ is the Giver of the Water of the everlasting-life"

I will give to the thirsty the springs of the Water of Life—as a gift!–Revelation 21:6These are nice aware words and it is true that God removes all desire when life is using itself within the area that can be called the Kingdom on earth participating in God's Circumlocution (or the talk around). The continuous area of the Holy Spirit is how God "talks around" and God imparts all knowledge about interests and how life is to use itself in unity with God through this united spirit area. This is the spirit area that transforms life into the everlasting circumstance. Praise be to God for knowledge able to be used. Supposed to happen prophecy of Daniel 12:3-4 is interesting together with the prophecy provided here from revelation. "And those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever. 4 ...many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase.”

Trudy says 8.16.2011, 6:58 p.m.

God can separate life from what it can not continue to do, however, it is preferred that life move consciously aware into unity with the Kingdom of God on earth. God does not separate you from what you are understanding or doing until God understands it as unacceptable (causing you to use yourself toward God and the Holy Spirit with the emotion of hatred). Life does not have to wait for that to occur which can be within another lower earthly existence (more negative energy) and can use itself walking away from things now that God is not supporting to be had, for you, within the Kingdom of God. Things that can not be had (do not exist, can not understand a continuous orienting communication) in the area of the Kingdom of God on earth, prohibit life from understanding God and being moved by a causation that is without integrations with confusion and emotions less than love. Jesus Christ said, leave attachments and activities that are not using themselves support you to exist as love (jobs, family, activity, etc) and walk forward in the way God has caused me to understand supports your existence to understand what God is doing and participate in God's provision of all things. You can not participate when you are integrating with sin, division, and separation.

Gerry says 8.16.2011, 08:14 a.m.

It is essential that God must be the center focus of our lives. All other people and things must be secondary. This does not mean that it is wrong to love people and enjoy life while living for the Lord. That is God's desire for all believer's however, God must remain number one above all else.

Donald says 8.16.2011, 06:33 a.m.

I have a burning desire in my heart to serve the Lord Jesus Christ, to spread the gospel, my prayer is that I receive oldness to do this, I tend to pull away from my will to do this, I am a 4 yr cancer survivor, God has touched me in many ways, thru this disease, and I am very grateful for this, I need some encouragement, to continue on the proper path of our Lord
