A Covenant With Eyes

July 30, 2013

Keep thyself pure.
–1 Timothy 5:22

Someone has said, “You cannot help the first look, but the second is sin.” Jesus indicated that you can engage in immorality by a look. The Bible places the “lust of the eye” right along with other major sins. Listen: “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” Peter spoke of having “eyes full of adultery.” No wonder Job said, “I have made a covenant with my eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?” Your eyes see only what your soul allows them to see.

Prayer for the day

May my eyes be on You, Lord Jesus, for I need Your purity and love to fill my heart and mind.

Lord I pray for your healing touch at this time of my life the current ways of this world are not yours my LORD, we need THE WORD to be the very core of our being, and to show ourselves as your hands and feet to this lost world as we are yours.

It appears that we've lost the capacity to blush. Dear Lord, please give us pure motives and loving devotion to YOU. Let us never grow weary of going good.

This isn't just for men only. We women can lust with our eyes just as well as men do. We need to remember we have a covenant with our eyes, and God, also.

Pride and adultry have grown over the yrs. I pray that all of this stops and that those who let pride and adultry into their life get rid of it and pray for God's forgiveness before it's to late. Jesus is the only way to live our life by. God Bless

This is the problem for all of us, sin of the flesh. it is one that will either be shut out of our lives, or continue to be lustful. Let's not go down the road of sin, God will punish for us in the end.

This world has reached the point of absolutely no shame. Immorality is rampant . It is found in print , television , online.....Believers must do their best, daily, to stay strong and focused on the moral values taught in God's Word. Be Victorious.

This is a God thing for me this morning. I caught and held a gaze from someone yesterday. It was only our eyes that held. But I should have looked away. He looked away first. Praying my eyes stay on the Lord from this moment on.

Just as we are tempted in our minds, we are tempted with our senses and the eyes are the window to the heart. That is why Proverbs advises us to guard our hearts above all things because from it flow the issues of life. Our eyes should be be HIS just as everything else in our bodies and lives. May we see through HIS eyes, speak through HIS lips, walk in HIS footsteps, use our hands to touch the brokenhearted to bring them hope. Beautiful devotional.....

..... Pride goes before fall. God lifted the humble and bring down the pride. My people stop looking at what God said is adultary and concentrate or looking for things that we benefit us in our christian journey on earth and look at Jesus the author and finisher of faith. God bless you all.
