Faith Pleases God

July 29, 2013

You can never please God without faith, without depending on him. Anyone who wants to come to God must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely look for him.
–Hebrews 11:6 (TLB)

Faith pleases God more than anything else. The Christian life is dependent upon faith. We stand on faith; we live on faith. Faith is loved and honored by God more than any other single thing. The Bible teaches that faith is the only approach that we have to God. No man has sins forgiven, no man goes to heaven, no man has assurance of peace and happiness, until he has faith in Jesus Christ. You may be saying, “God, I believe you are a great person, but I do not believe your Word; I do not believe what you say.” In order to please God, you must believe Him. Perhaps your faith is small and weak. It does not matter how big your faith is, but rather, where your faith is. Is it in Christ, the Son of God, who died on the cross for your sins?

Prayer for the day

Lord Jesus, may my faith in You and Your abundant promises be ever increasing each day.

Some, tend to have misplaced faith in "Stuff" (money ,etc. ...) they are ultimately, always left unfulfilled. Faith in God's Holy Son is the only way to find true, lasting , Peace. Try it and see for yourself.

I thank You, Father, that Your Word is my counsel, my shield, my buckler, my powerful weapon in battle. It is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. It makes my way straight before me, and I never stumble or fall for my steps are ordered by Your Word.

The Faith is the beginning and ending for all Christians who walk with Him. I am eager to please God.

And faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. The more we expose ourselves to God's word, the more our faith grows. I'm preaching to myself here but would like to mention how greatly I desire to be as much a woman of the scripture as your beloved wife, Ruth. I heard you say once Ruth was the greatest Christian you ever knew. That moment I claimed that declaration as my own. Ruth Bell Graham (also Corrie Ten Boom, can't leave her out) just drew people to Jesus Christ by the mantle of faith He placed upon her.

It takes a lifetime to acquire a deep faith. God permits situations in our life to grow and build our faith. Some of these are difficult but necessary to mature our faith as he provides for his children. He constantly demonstrates that he has our best interest in mind, always. As our faith grows, a natural byproduct should be our willingness to serve him as faithful workers as well.

Faith is everything in the Christian existence, but James correctly told us that "w/o works it is dead"
