The End of Life

July 26, 2013

. . . willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
–2 Corinthians 5:8

A little boy was riding alone on a train on a hot day when the travelers were extremely uncomfortable; and the scenery was not too interesting as they passed through the desert of Arizona. A lady sitting beside the boy asked him, “Are you tired of the long ride?” The little boy smiled and said, “I’m a little tired, but I don’t mind it much. You see, my father is going to meet me when I get to Los Angeles.” Sometimes we get a little tired of the burdens of life, but it is exhilarating to know that Jesus Christ will meet us at the end of life’s journey. The joy of being with Him forever is beyond the ability of any writer to describe.

Prayer for the day

To think You will be waiting for me at the
end of this earthly journey! I am filled with
unspeakable joy, Lord Jesus.

No one knows for certain the precise moment their life will end. However if you have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior you can be certain that you will spend eternity with him in Heaven. If you are reading this and have not ..its not too late.

Today is March 25th 2012, and I decided to scroll back in time on the BGEA daily devotionals to the date my grandmother passed away, July 26th 2011 (which is the date on this devotional). I am amazed by it and burst into tears as I read this. Thank u

A week ago today, my dear father-in-law went home to be with his Lord and his beloved wife, who had passed 7 months earlier. Knowing they are reunited again has made their passing bearable.

When the world cast burden upon burden on my shoulders, all I have to do is give them to Jesus...because Jesus said; "Come unto all ye who are weary and heavy laden and I shall give you rest"...all I have to do is think about how much Jesus loves me...

Rich says 7.26.2011, 08:11 a.m.

Horrible day yesterday Lord. Please guide and be with me.

Gerry says 7.26.2011, 08:09 a.m.

Someone described what they thought meeting God in Heaven may be like. They said, try and recall the happiest, most exciting moment of your life. Then multiply that times 1,000,000 and that's what every moment for all eternity will be like in the presence of our Heavenly Father, Savior Jesus Christ and our loved ones who have gone ahead. Now that's something to look forward to.............

Our family is very close to another family in our church. They have a 2yr. old daughter that I have adopted as my 'niece'. We had not seen our friends for a week (which is odd since we usually see them 2-3 times a week) When I turned the corner to go down the hall to Sunday School. Jessie saw me and started running. I dropped everything; purse, phone, bible etc. and I swooped her up into my arms and got lots of hugs and kisses. It's exciting to know that when we get to heaven Jesus will drop everything and run to us and us to Him with open arms.

Paul ran the race--maybe, we can at least try walking it!
