Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.
–2 Corinthians 9:15

A gift is not a gift unless it is accepted. God has given you His Son, but ownership is conditional on acceptance. God does not force His gift on us, but He asks us to receive by faith the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ. A person who deliberately refuses God’s offer of love, mercy, and forgiveness is lost. Most people gratefully receive a gift when given in love. The greatest sin that a person can commit is to refuse God’s love.

Prayer for the day

I reached out for Your gift of Jesus and received forgiveness and eternal life. Thank You, my heavenly Father.

Most people get very excited on those special occasions when we receive a gift from someone special. We appreciate the fact that they cared enough to take the time to pick just the right thing and have offered it with sincere love. How much more deeply exciting is it to realize that our Heavenly Father gave the gift of his only Son because he loves us more than our human mind can comprehend. Thank you Lord
