Fully Surrender

June 17, 2013

Those who still reject me are like the restless sea. . . . There is no peace, says my God, for them!
–Isaiah 57:20,21 (TLB)

Faith has legs . . . I heard about a man some years ago who was rolling a wheelbarrow back and forth on a tightrope across Niagara River. Thousands of people were shouting him on. He put a 200-pound sack of dirt in the wheelbarrow and rolled it over, and then he rolled it back. He turned to the crowd and asked, “How many of you believe that I can roll a man across?” Everybody shouted! One man in the front row was very excited in his professed belief. The man pointed to this excited professor and said, “You’re next!” You couldn’t see that man for dust! He didn’t actually believe it. He thought he believed it—but he was not willing to get in the wheelbarrow. Just so with Christ. Many people say they believe on Him, they say they follow Him. But they never have stepped into the wheelbarrow. They actually never have committed and surrendered themselves wholly, 100 percent to Christ.

Prayer for the day

Loving Lord Jesus, it was only when I surrendered everything to You that I knew the ultimate joy and peace that had always escaped me.

We will ultimately all have to decide whether we will get in that "wheelbarrow" or not while are still alive . The reward is Eternal Joy.

It takes courage and resistance against the world of non believers. Since I committed myself to God, I turned back against the worldly ways and want to live in God's laws and principles, regardless how the world thinks of me.

I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in my teens and this walk of life with him has been challenging, joyous, amazing and wonderful!! The Lord has displayed so many wonderful miracles in my life. First by dying for me and loving me. One verse that I have always remembered is "Seek the Kingdom of God First and all things shall be added unto you. His love, his forgiveness, his comfort is so beautiful. One of the Lord's miracles is that he let me see my brother before he died to accept the Lord as his personal savior, repent of his sins and ask the lord to come into his heart he was dying in the hospital and no one new but the Lord for months and by the will of God my earthly father was admitted to the same hospital with the same name. That is when I was contacted and went to the hospital. I had been looking for him for about one year asking the Lord where was he, 3 weeks later he died going home to the Lord. These times are so hard for so many we must trust in the Lord with all our being. He knows and loves us!! Live Love Lynn

It takes a lot of faith to get into the wheelbarrow. My son, Leon said, he will not get into the wheelbarrow. Our faith is not on a mere mortal man's ability but on the Almighty God who incarnate as a Son of man. It is so much easier for me to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ than anyone else.

Please Lord watch out for me. Please let good happen

I surrendered my life on Christmas Eve 2002, I gave up everything my life, my problems, my addictions, my children, my brothers and sisters, my whole family I couldn't wait to do that! Jesus said "Come unto me all ye who are weary and heavy laden and I will shall ye rest". What needless burdens we carry...when God can and will take care of everything.

God certainly fully committed to us when he gave his only Son to redeem mankind at Calvary. What an incredible display of Love. How can we show our sincere gratitude for such a sacrifice ? By following his Holy Word and committing to do our very best for him, each day.

Our belief has to be with our whole heart, mind and soul. He needs to be a part of it all. He cannot live in just parts of us!

This is perhaps one of the best explainations I have ever heard. Thank you for sharing!

The "wheelbarrow story" has successfully been used many times to illustrate in a Worldly sense how we are often unable to step up to the plate when our number is called.
