The Wisdom of God

June 12, 2013

Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
–Psalm 37:5

To know the will of God is the highest of all wisdom. Living in the center of God’s will rules out all falseness of religion and puts the stamp of true sincerity upon our service to God. You can be miserable with much, if you are out of His will; but you can have peace in your heart with little, if you are in the will of God. You can be wretched with wealth and fame, out of His will; but you can have joy in obscurity, if you are in the will of God. You can have agony in good health, out of His will; but you can be happy in the midst of suffering, if you are in God’s will. You can be miserable and defeated in the midst of acclaim, if you are out of His will; but you can be calm and at peace in the midst of persecution, as long as you are in the will of God. The Bible reveals that God has a plan for every life, and that if we live in constant fellowship with Him, He will direct and lead us in the fulfillment of this plan.

Prayer for the day

In everything I do, Your will must be uppermost in my life, Lord. I, as Your child, trust You to lead me.

"Trust in the Lord with all of thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding in all of thy ways acknowledge the Lord and he shall make thy paths straight." Is the words from a good Christian song. May Jesus give us wisdom and strength toObey.

Gods Will can be found in his Holy Word. Read it, study it, pray on it and know the correct path to follow.

True and lasting happiness can only be found when living in God's will for your life. Find it through prayer and the study of his Holy Word.

Isn't it great that God loves us enough to want the very best for us, always........which is his will.

Hi friends,"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." 1 Tim 2:3-4 and would you read and re-read those precious words: 2 Pet 3:9; Col 3:16/ Eph 5:17-18/

MaryEllen says 6.12.2012, 09:46 a.m.

IMHO being in God's will is so much more than just seeking His direction for big decisions; it is about day to day existence. Are you living a godly life? Are both spouses fulfilling their role as laid out in scripture? That's the source of joy.

Tim and Lynn: Please keep the faith and keep praying. I was in a similar circumstance that seemed hopeless. I keep praying, and I know other were praying also. Please read Psalms 118:5. He rescued me and my family. Keep the faith.

I have just come back from a mission trip in another country. I enjoyed working with people but there were many times that I felt very uncomfortable. I can't decide if it is because I am not in Gods will or if that is just a normal feeling.

Joe says 6.12.2012, 06:51 a.m.

Loving Father God, I want, what You want, not my will LORD, Your will,.......because You know what's best for me, in Your Precious name!

Lynn says 6.12.2011, 5:11 p.m.

I sit in a hotel with my family with money dwindling wondering if we are to move out-of-state or not. We have our belongings loaded on a truck and trailer, yet the provision has suddenly been depleted. Payment on jobs has strangely been delayed. My husband is concerned and, being self-employed, his focus has wavered with this sudden lack of money. I am seeking to see if God is stopping this move? I want to know we are hearing from Him and to know that we are in His will.

Pastor says 6.12.2011, 09:41 a.m.

Hi Tim,I teach that there are at least 3 ways to know God's will for our lives. Through the Word, through the gifts that you have, and through Circumstances. Don't! judge the will of God for your life by how difficult the situation(ask Job). You can be going through you greatest trial and be right in the center of God's Will.

Tim says 6.12.2011, 08:43 a.m.

Currently I stuggle with knowing the will of God for my life. My familiy is in going through some difficult times. We had a physical sign from God as to our opportunity to be where we are now, but things have been so hard since we got here. We sense that God has something else but we must wait. It is hard waiting on God but in the end we know waiting for Him will be best.

Gerry says 6.12.2011, 06:08 a.m.

God's will for your life can be found through prayer and the study of his word. Learn from the successes and failures of the lives documented in the Bible. That is why it was written. The world's road, outside his will is very wide but full of emptiness, broken dreams and discontent. God's road may be narrow but inner peace and eternal joy abound.

When we look back at our life and its experiences, it is amazing how meaningless some things have become!
