Cast Your Cares

June 11, 2013

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the [children] of God . . .
–1 John 3:1

As God’s children, we are His dependents. The Bible says, “Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear Him.” Dependent children spend little time worrying about meals, clothing, and shelter. They assume, and they have a right to, that all will be provided by their parents. Because God is responsible for our welfare, we are told to cast all our care upon Him, for He careth for us.

Because we are dependent upon God, Jesus said, “Let not your heart be troubled.” God says, “I’ll take care of the burden—don’t give it a thought—leave it to me.” Dependent children are not backward about asking for favors. They would not be normal if they did not boldly make their needs known. God is keenly aware that we are dependent upon Him for life’s necessities. It was for that reason that He said, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”

Prayer for the day

How magnificent, almighty Father, that I, dependently, can rely on You to take the burden of my heart!

@T ... through believing in Jesus Christ and the work He did for you, you don't have to worry about God being mad at you or having to pay Him back. God freely gives to you because He loves you. God is patient while you work out your trust issues.

A few years ago.. I was so dependent and know those words - ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened to you... today I am struggling for reasons I don't know.. I want to put that dependence back

I can do nothing worth while on my own . I rely and depend upon God each day for his mercies and blessings. Without his amazing compassion, I would be as a fish out of water.

I'm kind of afraid to ask God for anything or depend on Him. I worry that maybe He will get mad at me later or maybe I have to pay Him back later...

This is so timely for me. I have been struggling with this for so long. I feel so guilty sometimes because I feel like I am not worthy of His love and that makes asking in prayer difficult for me. I need His love and grace, now. Please pray for me...please.

It has taken me 60 years to realize that just how much our Heavenly Father loves us (me) and just how much we (I) can fully completely trust Him, depend on Him, and how I can take EVERYTHING to Him in pray. Life is going to be hard and there are going to be huge problems but now I know that I can take it ALL to Him and not WORRY about it anymore. It's wonderful to be free from the anxiety that was controlling me all these years. JESUS THANK YOU. I know there will be times when the evil one will still hit my weak point of anxiety but I have JESUS who I can depend on.

At one time many years ago I mistakenly thought I could do everything on my own and didn't need anyone's help including God. However after numerous failures at just about everything in life, God pitied me and mercifully invited me into his family. I now count on him to supply my every need and he always comes through and generously exceeds them. His Love and compassion are endlessly amaze me each day.
