Light and Shadow

June 5, 2013

Stand steady, and don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Bring others to Christ . . .
–2 Timothy 4:5 (TLB)

All the masterpieces of art contain both light and shadow. A happy life is one filled not only with sunshine, but one which uses both light and shadow to produce beauty. The greatest musicians, as a rule, are those who know how to bring song out of sadness. Fanny Crosby, her spirit aglow with faith in Christ, saw more with her sightless eyes than most of us do with normal vision. She has given us some of the great gospel songs which cheer our hearts and lives. In a rat-infested jail in Philippi, Paul and Silas sang their song of praise at midnight to the accompaniment of the jailer’s whip. But their patience in suffering and persecution led to the heathen warden’s conviction.

Prayer for the day

Let my heart learn to sing when everything around me seems so dark. Give me Your grace to praise You, Lord Jesus.

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all (2 Corinthians 4:17). Thank You LORD, You uses all suffering and persecution to develop a Godly character. A Million Thanks.......!

Amen. Love this! We go through trials and suffering in life to bring us closer to the Lord. One of my favorite bible verses is Jeremiah 29:11. Thank God for your blessings and your trials.

Life is a series of hills and valleys. God is always near, whether in the darkness of the valley or the sunshine on the hill.

God is too faithful that he can not and will never Fail

Thank You LORD, all the trials, suffering and persecution that I have gone through,.....because these trials, suffering and persecution contains both light and shadow,.....all the glory, honour and praise belong to YOU alone,......!

Madame Guyon said, "IT IS THE FIRE OF SUFFERING THAT BRINGS FORTH THE GOLD OF GODLINESS." There is no doubt, God has a divine purpose behind all the suffering and persecution,.....LORD, when You tried me, I shall come forth as a shining light.......!

Even as children of GOD we only pray for good things to come our way but GOD'S word clearly tells us that we should always remember him and praise him even in sickness, in all situations we should look to him thank to Fanny Crosby.

Good friend of mine just called for prayer for her friend Joe Bison who has cancer on his spine and lung. Please pray for healing and that God will draw him and all those around him closer to God through this healing request. We step forward in faith to things unseen, but real as God tells us in His living wor...the Bible.

Jesus said that we must preach the word of God, to tell others of Him and His path of salvation. We, as Christian, must ensure that we abide by that command and lead others to the grace and love of God, our Father. Satan will try to fog our thinking and aim to stop telling others of Jesus. However, we have victory in Jesus and we have nothing to fear. x

Faith in God is a stimulant, so when all seems dark, His Word in us produces light that lights up our path.....

No one enjoys suffering and hardship in life. However a certain amount is inevitable. In my own life I have found these these times to be seasons of growth toward our Merciful Lord. As a child we tend to cling to our earthly father for comfort and protection when distressed. As maturing Christians we ought to seek our Heavenly Father's direction and learn to depend on him in all circumstances. He loves you intensely and will never let you down.

If we will only see past the darkness, then we take a great step of faith, and actually move onto the light much faster. Remember Jesus will always be with us to bring us through the dark times, and 'Sorrow may last for a night, but joy comes with the morning'! Praise Jesus, I love His Grace :D x

There can be pluses out of darkness! It is up to us and our faith/action.
