More and more I am becoming aware of the truth that people change people as much as ideas change people. The power of personality is strong. One could find many illustrations to prove that often personality is greater than the idea. Such is the case with Christianity. The secret of the power of Christianity is not in its ethics. It is not in Christian ideas or philosophy, although Christianity has a philosophical set of ideas. The secret of Christianity is found in a Person, and that Person is the Lord Jesus Christ. Men have discovered other philosophical and ethical systems, but they have not found another Jesus Christ. No one in history can match Him.

Prayer for the day

When I tell others of Your love, help me to hide my personality in Yours, Lord Jesus.

The passage this brings to mind is ...the Word made flesh... John 1:14. The only one with the authority to offer salvation - our great Saviour.Who saved a wretch like me.

To Mr Graham. My grandmother, Louzon Black Hartis, 97, just passed away. I believe she knew you from the Sharon community( Presbyterian Church and Sharon School). Our family learned much about Jesus from you and from Granny. I know she is with him.

Praise God for Who He Is! Thank You God for giving me Your Peace in my heart, I don't know what I would do without my Lord in my life. He has Delivered me from my deadly alcohol and drug abuse. Praise God I will be clean and sober for six years. He has washed me the reading of His Word! I love You God!

The great thing about Christ is that, unlike personalities affected by the fall, He will never fail or cause us undue harm. There are times where we may question what he does but when we look through the lens of of our sinful condition and God's perfection we are brought to the realizatoin that ultimately we have not been let down. He has been lifted up. As children of God, when Jesus is lifted up so are we.
