Living in His Power

February 23, 2013

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
–Philippians 4:13

Jesus had a humble heart. If He abides in us, pride will never dominate our lives. Jesus had a loving heart. If He dwells within us, hatred and bitterness will never rule us. Jesus had a forgiving and understanding heart. If He lives within us, mercy will temper our relationships with our fellowmen. Jesus had an unselfish heart. If He lives in us, selfishness will not predominate, but service to God and others will come before our selfish interests. You say, “That’s a big order!” I admit that. It would be impossible if you had to measure up to Him in your own strength and with your natural heart. Paul recognized that he could never attain this heart purity by his own striving.

Prayer for the day

So live in me today that I will be able to radiate Your love and grace, Jesus.

All that I have is from you Lord, All that I give was prompted by you Lord. Forgive me Lord if I personally took credit. I will always give you the Glory. Amen, my Father and Creator.

Hey Cass, that is what is so awesomely simple about Billy Graham's "My Hope" emphasis. It gets all of us back on the streets, building relationships and inviting the lost into our homes for prayer and bible study. It's working, even now! PTL!

Gerry says 2.23.2013, 06:55 a.m.

Now that I surrendered my heart to Christ and look back on life before I knew him. It's easy to realize how totally lost I was. Now Love,Peace and Joy replace self, fear and stress . I can never adequately thank you enough,Lord. Praise you Holy name.

Our head AND heart BOTH need to emulate Christ's love and forgiveness. No matter how much we know or study, if our thoughts, words, deeds are not Christlike, something is missing. BGEA's MY HOPE training showed me my missing link. I'm now equipped.

Please pray as i'm/we suffer different forms of oppression; it seems that stating the facts as regards certain Eph. 6 issues has cost us. Please pray God's will and His wisdom. My health has also been affected. Evil is so ugly. Praise Jesus for Truth

He who lives in me is stronger than he who is in the world. Thank you Jesus for living in me. Amen.

Billy Graham is truly one of the greatest preachers I've ever heard. I remember listening to him on the radio as a child, even after attending 4 services at church on Sundays. This is one charity I never hesitate to donate to. GOD BLESS!!!

I was as helpless as a fish on dry land when I didn't seek God's help in life. However now I can accomplish whatever he permits through His mighty power.

I watched the Classics last night on TBN, and Rev. Graham spoke on the example of Jonah, who initially ran from God's command to save wicked Ninevah. We need to do the Lord's will even when we don't want to do it. He knows what is best for all of us!

I can do all things through the ONE who empowers me with in......, Its not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts (Zechariah 4:6). Father, I thank You for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. A Million Thanks. Amen.....!

Annie says 2.22.2012, 10:10 a.m.

For, all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself (Galatians 5:14). Thank You Jesus, through the Holy Spirit You have given me a loving heart to serve You and others. I appreciate it very much..., Amen!

Now, that we are saved, what should we do? Let us all who believed and received Christ share the Good News to others.

Dyland says 2.23.2011, 7:21 p.m.

Sometimes it comes by so easy to reflect Christ and love others as He would have us, but it is a challenge sometimes in a difficult relationship. The only thing helping and changing me right now are these wonderful devotions and even on days I struggle and don't always get it right, it is the truth of the Gospel that is starting to free me. Thank you Billy for your straight forward teaching and preaching!

sam says 2.23.2011, 08:20 a.m.

We may emulate Jesus on several counts but will falter at some point. The Holy Spirit will help us regain our composure.

Gerry says 2.23.2011, 07:24 a.m.

Our actions are a reflection of who we are and what we think. Non believers watch what we say and do. Our example will either promote a Godly life or discredit Godly living. Even though we are not perfect and will make mistakes and poor choices we need to do our very best through daily prayer and God's power to be Christ's Ambassador's.

Cass says 2.23.2011, 03:00 a.m.

Glen Beck talked about the old days of Billy Grahams evangelist tent preaching.......We need to get back to evangelizing that way and getting on the streets - everywhere...........everywhere...............everywhere! May God Bless Billy

jonathan says 2.23.2011, 00:44 a.m.

Christ can keep negatives from us if we only believe and follow Him.
