The Enemy Deceives Us

February 22, 2013

In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan.
–Ephesians 6:16 (TLB)

Many jokes are made about the devil, but the devil is no joke. If a short time ago I had talked about Satan to university students, they would have made light of him, but no longer. Students today want to know about the devil, about witchcraft, about the occult. Many people do not know they are turning to Satan. They are being deluded because, according to Jesus Christ, Satan is the father of lies and the greatest liar of all times. He is called a deceiver. In order to accomplish his purpose, the devil blinds people to their need of Christ. Two forces are at work in our world—the forces of Christ and the forces of the devil—and you are asked to choose.

Prayer for the day

I have chosen to serve You, my Lord Jesus. Give me Your strength to battle the deceptions of Satan.

We, as Christians, are only passing through. The enemy has been defeated by Christ rising from the dead. We, only need to go home now to live with the King that won the war.

Satan doesn't rest. We live in a fallen world. His goal is to try and deceive constantly.(particularly Believers) However the Good News is, when we fail and sin, God knows a truly repentant heart and is ready to forgive.

Dennis says 2.21.2013, 7:23 p.m.

God is so powerful that the bible says (in James 2 vs. 19) That even the devils believe... and THEY tremble! That is the power of the almighty. God is merciful and understands our temptations. He is meciful. Let us serve only Him.

Darlene says 2.22.2012, 8:11 p.m.

Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Stand firm during temptation, and the temptation will soon pass. You'll be glad you did. Keep praying for strength to endure until it does.

2 Chronicles 20:15 This is what the Lord says:Do not be afraid! Do not be discouraged by this vast multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's. Surrender ALL to Him who will protect us.

George says 2.22.2012, 08:50 a.m.

After finishing the Bible and now re-reading it again, it is obvious how the devil will try to get anybody to do most anything. The devil was in my mind until I realized how deceitful he was.

I need your prayers for Wednesday Morning at 10:00 a.m. in Cleveland at the Social Security Office where I will be pleading for the return of my benefits of 27.5 years. They were denied to me because an intake worker made a mistake and has compounded it for five years. Please pray for God to uphold me as I make my request before an Administrative Review Board. Thanks! Shirley

2 Corinthians 4:7-9 - But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.

Every moment of our weakness is a chance for the devil to tempt us to forsake God as much as it is a chance for us to remain steadfast in faith.

Gerry says 2.22.2011, 07:00 a.m.

The devil is so cunning that he can even appear as an "Angel of Light " (2 Corinthians 11:14 ) so we must remain on guard. Pray earnestly for the ability to discern between good and evil and God will be faithful to reveal the Truth.

josie says 2.22.2011, 05:11 a.m.

Satan comes in many different forms, the song the devils got his or her blue jeans on is true, don't kid yourself.
