He Can Use Anyone

January 31, 2013

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
–Philippians 1:21

Helen Keller, who is a classic example of handling life’s handicaps, said, “I thank God for my handicaps, for through them I have found myself, my work, and my God.” Some people with handicaps drown themselves in self-pity, and thus limit their usefulness and service to mankind and to God. The Apostle Paul knew the pangs of suffering. He used his infirmity rather than allowing his infirmity to use him, and he used it for the glory of God. He seized everything, even death, to glorify his Lord. No matter which way fate turned, he was one jump ahead of it, and using it to magnify his Savior.

Prayer for the day

Even my handicaps can be used by You, Lord Jesus. Like the Apostle Paul, let me rise above them for Your glory.

I agree. Definitely God can use anyone. This message brings to mind the story of Nick Vujicic , who is also a great encouragement(no arms, no legs).

All of my life I have been a people pleaser and wanted people to like me. The Bible calls that the fear of man. Psychologists and Celebrate Recovery calls it Codependency. Anyway, I am 67 and running the race with Jesus's help. praise Him, only!

God is able to sustain those who are weak and to use them unto His glory. Also to shame the wise and the strong. He will not share His glory with mere mortal men because everything originates from Him.

My husband was diagnosed with colon cancer in March 2010. He relapsed (liver) July 2011. Our audience has never been so large to tell other about Jesus. When you are facing a trial others watch to see if your God is really all that. HE is all that!

Nick says 1.31.2012, 10:24 a.m.

2 Chronicles 7:14 shows us our part in having a great nation. God always does His part. God is not mocked. What we sow we shall reap. Thank You Father for removing the wicked and evil in power and replacing them with Your people. In Jesus name.

Dear MERILYN, this is for you....., I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD (Psalms 118:17). May God pour His rich blessings on you.....! Amen!

Gerry says 1.31.2012, 07:53 a.m.

The Bible is full of unlikely people that God had chosen to use, for great things. You don't have to have extraordinary gifts. God will supply the ability to accomplish whatever he calls you to do. You just need to be willing.

Johnna says 1.31.2012, 07:30 a.m.

Annie says 1.29.2012, 08:55 a.m.

For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ not only to believe on Him but also to suffer for His sake (Philippians 1:29). It doesn't matter what we had gone through because we have the assurance, You said I will never leave you nor forsake you!
