'Our Nation Has Lost Its Way'

From the Desk of Franklin Graham

September 27, 2012 - "Does your vote count? You bet it does. Now is the time for people of faith to stand up for clear biblical standards and for our freedom to live by those standards," says Franklin Graham.

'Our Nation Has Lost Its Way'

Lasting change comes not from political parties but from the power of the Gospel.

'Our Nation Has Lost Its Way'

After watching the political conventions of both parties last month, it’s clear that America is quickly hurtling down a road toward God’s judgment.

One party affirms a belief in the sanctity of life. The other party does not. One party supports the traditional, biblical definition of marriage between one man and one woman. The other party enthusiastically endorses and promotes same-sex marriage.

I will not—cannot—vote for a candidate, regardless of their political affiliation, who supports same-sex marriage and advocates abortion. God will judge our nation if we continue down this path.

Here in Charlotte near our headquarters building, the Democrats held their convention and made a clear choice to leave God and Jerusalem out of their platform. They caught so much criticism from around the country that they moved to reinsert the words but needed a two-thirds majority to make the change.

The mayor of Los Angeles, Antonio Villaraigosa, who was presiding at that time during the convention, asked all in favor to say “aye.” Many voiced their approval. But when he asked all opposed to say “no,” I watched in horror and absolute disbelief at the deafening roar as delegates rejected including any mention of God’s Name. After the mayor called for two more votes, each with the same result, opponents shouted in protest as the mayor wielded his gavel and declared it approved.

I appreciate those delegates at the Democratic convention who stood up by saying “aye.” They were the minority, with the majority clearly rejecting any mention of God. This all happened on national television, and it sent goose bumps up my spine and shock waves across America. When the Prophet Jeremiah warned the Judeans of impending Babylonian captivity, he repeatedly reminded them that their exile would take place because they had forgotten God (Jeremiah 2:32; 3:21; 13:25; 18:15).

In our great prosperity of years past and our nation’s long period of world leadership, perhaps America has largely forgotten God and instead proudly chosen to rely on our own wisdom and strength.

Does your vote count? You bet it does. Now is the time for people of faith to stand up for clear biblical standards and for our freedom to live by those standards. Christians need to be careful how they vote this fall, not just nationally, but also on the state and local levels. What are the candidates’ positions on issues in our culture that are clearly addressed in the Word of God? We need to elect leaders who believe in the sanctity of life, and who defend and fight for God’s definition of marriage between one man and one woman.

My father and I both take a strong stand on biblical values. I believe this year could be one of the most important elections held in our nation’s history. The spirit of the antichrist is gaining strength in American society, and it is evident all around us. If you’re not registered to vote, then be sure to do so before the election.

Let us also not forget that elections and politics are temporal. Elections do matter, but “our citizenship is in heaven” (Philippians 3:20, NIV). Lasting change comes not from political parties but from the power of the Gospel. That’s why we’ve already been at work for months on a massive outreach—quite possibly the largest in our history—planned for next year.

My Hope with Billy Graham will be carried out in close partnership with many thousands of churches and individuals everywhere in the country. We need your prayers, and America needs your prayers. Our nation has lost its way, but when people repent of sin and turn in faith to Jesus Christ, hearts are healed, lives are transformed, and nations begin to be changed.

I have just returned from a region-wide Rock the Lakes outreach in Buffalo, New York. This weekend, I will be across the border in Canada for a youth-focused Crusade in Ottawa. Then later in October I will lead a Crusade in the world’s newest country, South Sudan. Churches there, many of them survivors of intense persecution, have invited us because they want the preaching of the Gospel to be the foundation of their emerging nation.

My son Will, who has just returned from proclaiming Jesus Christ in Shenzhen, China, will lead a Crusade in Thailand at the beginning of November.

The stakes are high, both in America and for people in other countries who long for hope. Please pray that God will transform lives, communities, and ultimately entire nations by changing people’s hearts. We need your financial support to seize every opportunity God gives us to preach the Gospel.

Thank you and God bless you,

Franklin Graham Signature

Franklin Graham,
President

CRUSADES: After preaching the Good News in Buffalo, New York, and Ottawa, Ontario, we’re heading to Juba, the capital city of South Sudan. The country is barely a year old, and churches there want us to come proclaim the Gospel as a foundation for their new nation. Whether through a Crusade in an American city or elsewhere in the world, God can use your gift to reach people who otherwise may never hear about Jesus Christ. Please give »

MY HOPE: We only need to look around our own cities and neighborhoods, and even among our own friends, to realize how desperately America needs the Gospel. God has called us, in partnership with churches all over the country, to a bold vision for reaching our nation with the Gospel in 2013. It’s called My Hope with Billy Graham, and we greatly need your prayers and gifts to help launch this life-changing—and perhaps nation-changing—outreach.

If one is truly Born Again, then we don't have the spirit of fear. But, the man that leads the Saints astray..it is a fearful thing to come before the true and Living God! You are a blessing Graham family.

Believers all over the world must pray for America for God's Will to be done as election approach.Though we are many but one body through Christ.

Karol says 10.9.2012, 03:24 a.m.

Thank you for this wonderful letter. Am praying God will not hold us all accountable for the DNC actions and same sex marriage act. God bless you, Billy and America.

Anita says 10.8.2012, 7:52 p.m.

I cannot worry about the future and this election and the direction it might take because I know that God is going to put into place those men and women around the world who are going to fulfill his plan and purpose til the day of His return.

Jacob says 10.8.2012, 4:31 p.m.

Deciding what is most important to your personal convictions and proclaiming it as God's declaration is very dangerous territory. God doesn't care who wins an election. He can use any vessel he chooses, including a donkey. :)

Jack says 10.8.2012, 4:28 p.m.

Please read the article in October's Decision magazine, page 5, "Can an Evangelical Christian Vote for a Mormon?" May God bless us as a nation and guide our actions. Especially as this very important election draws near.

Ruth says 10.7.2012, 4:50 p.m.

Neither of the two Presidential candidates is a Christian--first time in the history of our nation. AsChristians we must choose wisely as to which man best demonstrates through his life and actions that he follows the spirit of God's Word.

Roger says 10.7.2012, 2:10 p.m.

I only know of one perfect person who ever lived on this earth. We have all sinned and fall short every day. I for one will not vote for a Mormon over a professing Christian (who I believe).

wally says 10.7.2012, 08:35 a.m.

I am a Canadian and can hardly believe the dilemma that you as Americans face in this upcoming election. How did you as a nation get to a place where you have to choose the lesser of 2 evils?

Linda says 10.5.2012, 9:35 p.m.

How can any Christian (one who has repented of the wrongdoing in their life and taken Jesus Christ as Savior and LORD) vote for anyone who espouses gay marriage and abortion? The choice is easy - vote what the Bible says.....

Butch says 10.5.2012, 1:06 p.m.

cont. This election is important because politicians are making laws and appointing judges who interpret those laws. JESUS said"Blessed is he who is not offended in ME" Are we offended to take a stand for HIS WORD?

Butch says 10.5.2012, 12:57 a.m.

God Bless You Bro.Franklin I discovered that as a Christian I can belong to no political party,I have to vote as my Bible directs me to,it has one right answer to ALL issues, whether it pleases me or not.

Chuck says 10.5.2012, 12:06 a.m.

Can Christians vote for a man who believes "The Christian world, so-called, are heathens as to the knowledge of the salvation of God" (Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses 8:171)

Marjorie says 10.5.2012, 00:18 a.m.

I watched the Democratic Convention. I too watched in horror as the No's went up against my Lord. I bowed my head and prayed. God you have millions who love you and believe you are their Savior. Please forgive us, don't forget those who love you.

Matt says 10.5.2012, 00:00 a.m.

How can we exalt these two issues (marriage and abortion) while ignoring things that Christ would take a stand against?

Matt says 10.4.2012, 11:59 p.m.

Additionally, why should Christians vote only based on a candidate's stance on marriage and abortion? The Bible says a whole lot more about the government protecting the poor.

Barb says 10.4.2012, 8:57 p.m.

Thank You Franklin, and Your Sweet Family, for spreading The Gospel of Jesus Christ, that SAVES SINNERS, all these Years!! " Through God we shall do valiantly: for He it is that shall tread down our enemies." Psalm 108:13 Please Christian's Vote!

Tanko says 10.4.2012, 5:25 p.m.

America as a great nation emerged through the labour of men that never tolerated ungodliness so should present generation of leaders replicate their virtues. With bated breath we pray for the nation's transformation and overthrow of ungodliness

Joshua says 10.4.2012, 4:25 p.m.

Do you really harbor such hatred in your hearts that you can't treat others equally? God didn't judge America over the pillaging of natives or the enslavement of Africans... Yet you think he will judge for these things?

Redgie says 10.4.2012, 1:00 p.m.

God continue to give you extraordinary strength and conviction to share the truth to those lost, Franklin...thank you for serving our Lord the way you do--GLORY TO GOD ON HIGH!! God still bless our America.

Joyce says 10.4.2012, 12:52 a.m.

I agree with Romney's values, but I am struggling with his beliefs. As a Christian who believes in the inerrant Word of God, I cannot align with Mormonism. I am torn with whether or not to vote at all.

Ellery says 10.4.2012, 11:50 a.m.

What is the fear of voting for a Mormon? Since I met our Savior and guided by the Holy Spirit, I recognize the errors in Mormon understanding. I recognize my errors, too.

Eural says 10.4.2012, 01:18 a.m.

Three times Peter denied God, So have we. We serve idol gods. We kill unborn babies and we marry the same sexes. These are listed in the ten commandments. Jesus said "if we love him we will keep his commandments." It appears that we have lost it.

Graham says 10.4.2012, 00:53 a.m.

To respond to an earlier post: As a South African may I respond by saying: our country has legalized abortion and gay marriages....we are experiencing the wrath of God as a nation! I pray for God's Wisdom!

SD says 10.4.2012, 00:37 a.m.

What are God's bibical directives 1-Thou shalt not kill (abortion) 2-marriage is between male and female 3-we are to pray for and support His land and His people - the question to ask is where do the candidates stand on these directives? God Bless

Annie says 10.3.2012, 9:33 p.m.

I stand with Franklin If you are on the line, remember that I have lost my income and can't pay my bills because of the last four years. Don't be tempted by lies and promises. Choose a moral life

Joyce says 10.3.2012, 8:08 p.m.

"and my people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land." II Chronicles 7:14

Stephen says 10.3.2012, 7:26 p.m.

It's about time we realized where our morals and ethics originate, in the Bible and in our Judeo-Christian heritage, not in misguided attempts at self-governance.

Connie says 10.3.2012, 7:04 p.m.

You are NOT voting for the killing of babies and gay marriage. You are voting for the 'choice' to decide for yourself with the opportunity to make that decision between you and your GOD.

Marilyn says 10.3.2012, 5:19 p.m.

We have LOST our way and ALL need to realize " PEOPLE NEED THE LORD!" MAYBE then hardened hearts would be softened. God Bless Billy Graham Association!

Shirlene says 10.3.2012, 4:53 p.m.

I thank God Adonai/Jehovah that whom ever one votes for and if later, see that it has caused hardship in their life and maybe others, remember to repent because God is still in the business of forgiveness. His grace is sufficient!

Grandma Dorothy says 10.3.2012, 4:34 p.m.

Some don't seem to realize the Bible tells us to pray for our government. It doesn't say "pray if they are Christian". Obey the word not our own ideas. Go Gods way and leave the results to Him.

Elizabeth says 10.3.2012, 1:58 p.m.

Everyone needs to be very careful whom they endorse. Some out there claim christian beliefs but instead.. 2 Tim. 3:2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,

Betty says 10.3.2012, 1:31 p.m.

God is in control!!!!! We all need to pray often for our country that was built on the foundation of morals, faith, perseverance, liberty, principles, etc. It really worries me how much our country has turned backs on God.

Katherine says 10.3.2012, 1:21 p.m.

A true born again black female republican (1999) who could never vote for obama. In my Spirit full of love for Jesus I cannot vote for someone who puts the book of mormons next to the Holy Bible and says it's just as good.

Irma says 10.3.2012, 12:59 a.m.

Hard to believe that Christians are afraid to vote for a Mormon, but consider voting for a man who pushes homosexuality and abortion. Although our choice in this election is limited, I pray we choose wisely. God Bless you for the work you do.

elizabeth says 10.3.2012, 12:18 a.m.

we need to stand for right according to Gods word and trust Him knowing that ultimately"our times are in His Hands."

cont. Abortion is also wrong from a biblical and common sense perspective. Everyone you see including yourself began in a mothers womb. However, implying the republican party is Gods party I disagree.

Chuck says 10.3.2012, 11:02 a.m.

I believe any nation who opposes God will and is being punished. Homosexuality is wrong from a biblical and common sense perspective. Adam and Adam would of ended the human species. cont.

The kings of the earth set themselves ,and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.He that sitteth in the Heavens shall laugh:psalm 2

Red says 10.3.2012, 10:30 a.m.

Lots of Christians worry about voting a Mormon in (Romney), but they forget that his wife, Anne, is an Episcopalian and comes from a long history of family in that church. Remember that behind every great man is a great woman. God is in the details.

Marie says 10.3.2012, 10:07 a.m.

I disagree with gay marriage, but many states had legalized gay marriage before. As a Christian, I wouldn't like to be in the president's shoes, but he is the president of the gays also. Is Mr. Romney going to refuse their votes?

Karen says 10.3.2012, 08:48 a.m.

We can't give in to despair and give up in hopelessness. The Lord is with us! Stand firm! Thank you Franklin and all the team at the BGEA. May the Lord continue to bless you and your family!

Joyce says 10.3.2012, 02:39 a.m.

Thank you Franklin for standing up and speaking the truth. We are living in the last days and I believe this election is all a part of that process. Christians need to be careful about satan's deceptions.

Mark says 10.3.2012, 02:34 a.m.

There are a laundry list of moral problems with both parties and both candidates. Why are abortion and same-sex marriage the litmus test we should use to vote for a candidate? Honest question.

Sheila says 10.2.2012, 9:21 p.m.

Let us ask God's mercy towards all who have hated our President without cause. Honestly examine your hearts and ask what did this man do to not deserve the prayers of the righteous - -

Bobbi says 10.2.2012, 9:03 p.m.

I will be so glad when King Jesus returns and sets things right on planet earth! I can hardly wait to be with the Lord! Just think, the Creator of the universe will wipe the last tear from our eyes!!! There will be no more pain and no more sorrow.

Nita says 10.2.2012, 8:59 p.m.

Faye says 10.2.2012, 8:27 p.m.

Thank you for standing in the gap. Our nation reminds me of Israel in the Old Testament. They wanted to follow their idols and fleshly desires. Left God out of their lives. Israel paid the price for rebellion, we will ,also.

Ron says 10.2.2012, 7:37 p.m.

Thank you so much, brother Graham, for your stand for righteousness. I know you will lose a little money in this world from Democratic supporters but the the voice of the unborn is heard crying out in appreciation for your vote as is our Father!

Truth says 10.2.2012, 4:49 p.m.

Some Christians are using abortion and gay marriage as their reason to vote for Mitt Romney. I don't agree with abortion or same sex marriage, I also don't agree with racism, hatred for poor, downtrodden and middle-class. Jesus loved people, not sin!

Sandra says 10.2.2012, 4:40 p.m.

Thank you for all you do, I am grateful for your ministry. I agree with you 100 Franklin. We will continue to support and pray for your ministry.

Loring says 10.2.2012, 2:01 p.m.

Even though I am conflicted on who to vote for this election, I will be praying that God direct me. I don't support abortions and same-sex marriage, but I don't want to support people who tell lies and hide their agenda on other issues as well.

Carol says 10.2.2012, 1:23 p.m.

Misdiagnosis leads to poor outcomes. Our national ailment is not an economic one but spiritual at core. The economic problems we face are merely symptomatic of our spiritual decline.

Epifania says 10.2.2012, 12:45 a.m.

I'm so sad I'm not yet an American citizen to be qualified to vote.. I would have wanted my vote to make a difference for the leader that God will place in this blessed country... I will Just be praying for this country with the brethren...God bless

Grandma Dorothy says 10.2.2012, 12:38 a.m.

Instead of looking at the man we are voting for, look to see which man upholds our Lord's principles. One doesn't at all! Man's salvation is in Gods hands. We must pray for ALL unsaved.

Tom says 10.2.2012, 12:12 a.m.

In my opinion, we are fast-approaching the Judgment phase in the Cycle Of Nations: Blessings -> Satisfied -> Proud Heart -> Forget God -> Judgment. Two paths in the Judgment phase: (1) remember, repent, and return or (2) destruction.

Barry says 10.2.2012, 11:38 a.m.

I agree that our nation is in deep trouble and needs to return to God. However, the 2 parties are composed of politicians, and I doubt that we can believe everything they say. Vote your heart, but don't expect too much.

Lisa says 10.2.2012, 10:18 a.m.

Yes, we must vote. We listen to the counsel of our leaders, we pray and we vote as we are individually lead by God's precious Holy Spirit because He is the only one that really knows the heart of each candidate.

Roy says 10.2.2012, 10:10 a.m.

Our Nation is in trouble with GOD and THE GOD OF HEAVEN will judge America and those who are against HIM, and His WORD. Thank you for taking a stand and your faith in GOD.

Steve says 10.2.2012, 09:48 a.m.

It is refreshing to hear truth when so many churches are too afraid to speak up for fear of losing their charitable status. Selfish sinful agendas can only result in the loss of our country.

Chucki says 10.2.2012, 09:32 a.m.

Lord God we call upon you and ask for a huge hedge of protection around our nation and your beautiful creation. Father send your many messengers to BGEA and may they prosper as you lead them. Have Mercy on us Lord Jesus, Have mercy!Let us pray!

Belinda says 10.2.2012, 09:30 a.m.

Lets all just keep praying and have faith in God all we need to do is look to our father he will take care of all of us if we would all just get to praying have faith TRUST GOD HE HAS ALL THE ANSWERS AND ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS BELIEVE TRUST GOD

Larry says 10.2.2012, 09:13 a.m.

I agree with you 100 and will continue to support BGEA with my prayers and finances. In addition, I'm actively educating all those in my sphere of influence!

Nathan says 10.2.2012, 08:21 a.m.

This nation needs revival similar to the first Great Awakening and similar to the great Welsh revival. Even Roberts prayed 13 years for revival in Wales and there was a revival to the point that bars closed down it it's cities, God can do it again!!

Jeri says 10.2.2012, 08:08 a.m.

As Christians we MUST make our stand FOR JESUS and not allow these things to happen and sit by without saying anything because if we don't speak up it is a form of denying Him!! PRAISE JESUS!!!!

Martha says 10.2.2012, 07:57 a.m.

I Thank you for being a light to the nations and proclaiming we all must participate in our own self-government which is self control and not passive living. Our vote does count.

Max says 10.2.2012, 07:53 a.m.

Brother Franklin, I too was shocked, disappointed and more than a little angry with the Democratic Convention's insincere reinsertion of the word "God" into their platform. It simply doesn't wash with me. God counts!!

Jennifer says 10.2.2012, 07:47 a.m.

Isaiah 55-What are the Lord's thoughts and His ways concerning this election? Remember, His are always higher. What is His Will concerning this matter? What's pleasing to Him? Have we truly asked Him, or assumed based on our thoughts and beliefs?

JoAnne says 10.2.2012, 07:36 a.m.

The Bible makes provision for the poor, within the church. It also calls able-bodied people to work, to provide for their own needs. Gov't is to oversee the dispensation of justice. Let us return to "the plan".

Winnie says 10.2.2012, 05:40 a.m.

Your letter is so true. Our greatest need in America is a spiritual one - we need to follow our God. It seems there are so many who are blinded to the truth. Our vote counts - but also our prayers for this great nation.

Carolyn says 10.2.2012, 03:21 a.m.

May the lord bless you and your family and all that you do. America is going down the wrong path.Only the lord can save it. We need all the prayers we can get.

Democrats do not care about the poor and elderly. They care about votes that enable them to dictate more and more of your life. If they stay and Obamacare stays, you on SS will see the amount deducted from your checks for medicare triple by 2014.

Marcia says 10.2.2012, 01:20 a.m.

Praise God for you and your father taking a bold stand in this election. Satan, the father of lies, is using the media to put fear in the hearts of many people and blind them. We must turn to God before it's too late.

Audi says 10.2.2012, 00:40 a.m.

Both the Democratic and Republican parties are corrupt in my opinion. I will vote independent for as long as I am able. Political offices were not meant to be lifelong careers. This has proven to lead to power hungry, self serving people in office.

Alan says 10.2.2012, 00:24 a.m.

Thank You for telling the truth! We must vote for a complete change from the present! God Bless America!

Hazel says 10.2.2012, 00:07 a.m.

I think we are in spiritual warfare such as we've never seen before in this nation. People seem to be blinded to the truth. We only have two choices left to us now. I pray to God we choose wisely. This may be our last chance to get it right.

Bob says 10.2.2012, 00:06 a.m.

I agree with you Rev. Graham, that by the declining morals, the killing of millions of unborn babies, God being removed from almost every aspect from this country by its government, that God has removed his protection of this nation. God forgive us.

Jim says 10.1.2012, 11:59 p.m.

I agree with your principles, but there is a political caveat. One parties platform is pro life, anti- gay and others, but when the election is done, the platform is folded up and put in the closet.

James D. says 10.1.2012, 11:56 p.m.

I am overcome with desire for revival and a massive outpouring of God The Holy Spirit throughout America, Israel and the world. The Word is also Spirit--Jn 6:63. Blessed be He!

Jim says 10.1.2012, 11:26 p.m.

Nothing is more "of the world" than politics. As believers seated at the right hand of Christ, it does not suit us. We are to preach the Gospel. God will judge the world. It is not our place to do so. This is a distraction we have had for too long.

Rosa says 10.1.2012, 11:22 p.m.

As an immigrant from Guatemala who has always been a legal immigrant and who later was very proud to become a citizen, i have greatly benefited from the opportunities this great nation has afforded me. I pray that God will hear our prayers for America

Dorothy says 10.1.2012, 11:19 p.m.

Know what Mormans believe before you vote. You vote not only for the man but for his belief system and values. Things are not always what they seem. Do your homework Christians.

donna says 10.1.2012, 11:12 p.m.

I am truly afraid of this election and what is going to happen to the US and christian's. What even more scary, some of the christian's I know want to vote for the very party that wants to silence God in the US. I dont understand what they see.

Norma says 10.1.2012, 11:08 p.m.

God's promise in 2 Chronicles 7:14 is still good. My prayer is that Christians everywhere will be able to meet the requirements!

Bub says 10.1.2012, 11:03 p.m.

So proud of you for taking a stand for God on these issues...Too much is at stake...If not now when will we take a stand? Sought Christ after one of your Dad's crusades 39 years ago...Thankful for both of you!!

Mike says 10.1.2012, 11:00 p.m.

It used to be that both parties were committed to God and to life. Now the Democrats have clearly rejected God and his morality. The Republicans are still willing to stand for godly principles and all Christians should be voting Republican.

T says 10.1.2012, 10:33 p.m.

God is the reason our country was founded...in the end of life it is God that matters...Godly principles and Godly beliefs is what you vote for...pray for our country to repent and turn back to God...there are still Christians that put God first

Patrick says 10.1.2012, 10:29 p.m.

Dear Reverend Graham, you joyfully teach me about the Gospel of Christ.  I accept the Holy Bible's message and I accept the Holy Bible as the Infallible Word of God.  Colossians 1:5.

I am appalled at the number of Christians who seem to be unclear about who to vote for or who seem to be contemplating not voting at all! As Franklin himself said on national TV: "we're not electing a pastor-in-chief, but a Commander-In-Chief".

Lillian says 10.1.2012, 10:06 p.m.

I cannot support a mormon who is not a christian. Core doctrine of the Bible is something the mormons do not believe in. Marriages between same sexes are man ordained marriages and not God ordained marriages. Killing babies is the sin of the killer.

Ken says 10.1.2012, 10:04 p.m.

Franklin,Thanks for your stand for Christ! I stand with you as a minister of the Gospel! We need to pray and proclaim the truth which is contrary to the path of society and our country!

Patti says 10.1.2012, 10:01 p.m.

I consider what God considers. I can't consider my pocket book. I must consider the killing of the innocent and the Sodom and Gomorrah lifestyle that is being exalted. God will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse her. Gen. 12:3.

Betsy says 10.1.2012, 9:58 p.m.

I have called myself a christian for 23 years. Now it is time to count the cost. Will I truly live my faith amidst persecution, live Jesus' example and back my vote for Christ. THKS GOD, HIS MERCY, BGEA

Ronnie says 10.1.2012, 9:53 p.m.

God bless you and your family for all that you do through His name. May you continue to be a strong and powerful instrument of the Lord. May the people and places that have distanced themselves from God, reconsider. May God prevail in November!

Alexa says 10.1.2012, 9:45 p.m.

Currently, I confess I am worried about the future of my children and grandchildren. But, as I put my trust in the Lord, I know that He is in control now and forever. May the Lord bless you!

Leslie says 10.1.2012, 9:28 p.m.

God bless you, as you stand up for truth! It is tragic to watch our nation's fruit being revealed, and we Christians need to ask for God's mercy. This points to the prophecies of the last days being fulfilled. People need the gospel!

Greg says 10.1.2012, 9:19 p.m.

May God unite His church and may we BE the church to the lost, ministering reconciliation between God and mankind through Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world! Our calling and our responsibility as Christians. May God Bless America!!

Cheryl says 10.1.2012, 9:06 p.m.

Thank you Jesus for all you do in our lives. I pray our country wakes up to the calling back to God!

Wendy says 10.1.2012, 8:55 p.m.

I want to thank you for your post. There is so much hatred moving through this election and it's hard to see how so many people are blind. While neither candidates seem to have presidential qualities, I vote Life.

Linda says 10.1.2012, 8:42 p.m.

I have seen this great country of ours go down for sometime now. I pray to God that He opens people's hearts and eyes so they can see what is going on and start caring for one another.

Patti says 10.1.2012, 8:38 p.m.

I can not vote for any man who stands for ungodly principles. Neither candidate will make a good president. Voting will be a catch 22 this year.

Linda says 10.1.2012, 8:38 p.m.

Dan:"wish it could be a vote for the real 'best' for our nation and righteous values. We need a true born again candidate with strong morals and backbone, a great support group behind them and someone true to their.." We had one. I'll write him in.

cindy says 10.1.2012, 8:22 p.m.

I wish I was in a position to help financially but I am not. I can do and will pray for your ministry and for our country and the leaders to get wisdom, from the Lord. May God Bless your ministry and all that you all do.

Al says 10.1.2012, 8:20 p.m.

Thank you for speaking out Rev Franlin we need to pray for a spiritual awaken again starting with me. How many times did the Lord God cry out to Israel to repent may we take heed otherwise we'll find ourseleve taken captive too.

Linda says 10.1.2012, 8:15 p.m.

The leaders of the country reflect the morals of the people. It's time we as born again Christians take a strong stand for God. Thank-you Franklin for this article. Pray that it is not too late for America.

Deborah says 10.1.2012, 7:53 p.m.

I attended a Christian retreat this past weekend. The main message was Christ is and should always be at the center of our church and lives. Our secular world and country is broken. Pray that God will not give up on us and that He will intervene.

James M says 10.1.2012, 7:52 p.m.

We as a family unit agree with you Mr Graham. We will coninue to pray for our nation as well as your ministry. Even though our future looks grim, we have the hope of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and that is ALL we need!

Dawn says 10.1.2012, 7:26 p.m.

We are not voting for a religion; we are voting for a man that has the closest Biblical values that men and women of God share. I cannot vote for a candidate that openly lies to the people, that believes in same sex marriage, believes in abortion.

Christy says 10.1.2012, 7:11 p.m.

I was just saying the other day that I wish Billy Graham would call into the Oval Office for a conversation with our President. Thank you for taking a stand for those of us that also believe that abortions and same-sex marriages are not biblical.

Grace-Rogathe says 10.1.2012, 7:09 p.m.

I'm afraid we as christians did not show love to Obama from the beginning, may be we need to repent 4 that sin first.

Dear Graham Family,Thank you for doing God's service all over the world. Our voices need to call out to God louder than ever and plead for forgiveness for our country. We can only trust God for hope and truth, no one else. God Save Our Country.

Vanessa says 10.1.2012, 7:03 p.m.

I proudly will vote for President Obama!! As a Christian who believes in the sanctity of all life from birth to the grave and healthcare for all Americans.

Kim says 10.1.2012, 7:01 p.m.

Simply, THANK YOU, Billy and Franklin and family. Well done. It is clear that this is a season of extreme testing. The end of all of this insanity will come and so will a glorious new beginning. The Lord watches, He listens and He judges.

Steve says 10.1.2012, 6:57 p.m.

Three times to witness is significant. Yashua asked Peter "Who am I? " 3 times, Peter denied the Messiah 3 times before the cock crowed, and now the Democrats have witnessed 3 times their rejection of God. We already are under God's judgement. Ish9

Neal says 10.1.2012, 6:54 p.m.

I tell my congregations to lay our problems at the feet of Jesus he will take load and free us to do his will. Franklin I support you and your family. Let us pray for our nation that the people will fo God's will and He will save our nation.

Vivian says 10.1.2012, 6:50 p.m.

It is a sorrowful thought that our nation wants God out of its culture, while other countries want to build theirs on a Godly foundation.

Mary says 10.1.2012, 6:38 p.m.

It's a shameful falsehood that the Republicans and their candidate do not care for the poor and needy. Yes, they do. And they also believe in teaching a man to fish.

Gaj says 10.1.2012, 6:23 p.m.

I am a catholic and very proud of the stand our leaders are taking against abortion and same-sex marriage. We do need to pray for our country every single day. Do it starting today.

Lori says 10.1.2012, 6:14 p.m.

Thank You Franklin to you and your family. We need you more than ever now. The democrat party has turned from God. We are living in such horrible and scary times.

Hunter says 10.1.2012, 6:14 p.m.

God governs the affairs of men. If a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid? Except the Lord build the House, they labor in vain who build it. Benjamin Franklin.

Lisa says 10.1.2012, 6:07 p.m.

If the church does our job, the poor will be fed. If we don't do our job, the murder of unborn babies continues and we break the law that instructs "Thou shalt not kill." Vote! PLEASE

Susan says 10.1.2012, 6:02 p.m.

I trust God. It is people from both parties who forget Christ is not political. If we trust God, our country can get through 4 years of either of these men. God rules

Isabella's mom says 10.1.2012, 5:52 p.m.

I have recently been struggling because of course I would never ever vote for mr. Obama. The alternative of Mr. Romney has me DEEPLY concerned. As an acquaintance has said, perhaps God's judgment is already here by the choices we have before us.

Marilyn says 10.1.2012, 5:48 p.m.

It saddens me to see so many relying on the federal government to support us and the citizens being so gullible to fall for so many false promises. We must ask God to intervene in this election. Our nation needs God! Pray!!!!!!

Leon says 10.1.2012, 5:47 p.m.

My pray is hopefully we have a Nineveh awaking and repentant attitude.

Robet says 10.1.2012, 5:44 p.m.

God bless you and your family for standing for the truth.I pray God will shake these people up before it is to late.

David says 10.1.2012, 5:32 p.m.

The Dem leadership didn't even have the guts and honesty to honor THEIR OWN VOTE and pandered to the real majority in this country, instead of their constituents - Liar Liars pants on fire, over 75 of this country believes in GOD.

John says 10.1.2012, 5:32 p.m.

There has never been a nationwide revival since we started moving away from the King James Bible. Also, why do we have to use CCM? Have Christians really become more holy because of it?

Boni says 10.1.2012, 5:22 p.m.

I, too, pray for our country and nation and am apposed to abortion for any reason or same sex marriage; however, I cannot vote for the leader of our country to be Mormon--believing that Jesus was a "god" (small g) and we all can earn that too.

Denise says 10.1.2012, 5:15 p.m.

Thank you for standing up for God and what is right according to His word. I am and will continue to pray to God to give us Christian leaders for our country to be blessed by Him. In God we trust Amen.

Shirley says 10.1.2012, 5:03 p.m.

Bless you and your whole line of family. My soul make a boast in the Lord, but my heart hurts and cries for this world, how satan has blind people, how he lies and they believe, they are shackled, and I see and hear great cries in the end.

John says 10.1.2012, 4:57 p.m.

Listening to all of the political talk over the past few months and the conventions, it is apparent which canidate shares the belief in Jesus Christ. All issues are important, but the teachings of the Bible are paramount to all.

Donna says 10.1.2012, 4:50 p.m.

It is truly a judgement on our nation. We are reaping what we are sowing. Thank you Franklin for your dedication to the Word of God and Jesus Christ. You are a blessing.

Linda says 10.1.2012, 4:49 p.m.

We need to stand up for our Christian principles and stand strong for God. The sad part is is that many who claim to be Christian are going to vote Democrat and go against God's will. Keep praying for a revival before it's too late.

Arthur says 10.1.2012, 4:45 p.m.

My heart for God always comes first. It saddens me to see what has happened to this country and what is being done to the faith that once existed. I am disabled and simple minded so all I can do is pray. This I know what happens in life is temporary.

CHARLOTT says 10.1.2012, 4:38 p.m.

This world is fading away, along w/everything it craves. But if you do the will of God, you will live forever. 1 John 2:17 (NLT)

Cecelia says 10.1.2012, 4:36 p.m.

Our duty as Christians is to pray for those in authority, not to judge them as though they are held accountable to the same standards as those who are 'born of the Spirit' and have a personal relationship with God!

Craig says 10.1.2012, 4:29 p.m.

The amazing thing is that they did put God and Jerusalem as the capitol of Israel back in the DNC platform even though they didn't have a 2/3 majority to do it. This was because Barack Obama insisted that they do it.

Mildred says 10.1.2012, 4:24 p.m.

I also was in disbelief. We (America) deserve to be punished. May God hear our cries for mercy. May we vote with the mind of Christ. And may our children and grandchildren be protected from evil. May they be strong in the Lord.

eddy says 10.1.2012, 4:13 p.m.

Someone has step out and declare the truth. thank God for men and women still stand up for biblical principles.

Peggy says 10.1.2012, 4:02 p.m.

I agree totally to protect the sanctity of life and marriage, but I am finding it very difficult to vote for a president that was/is 7th in leadership of the mormon religion. Hard decision......

Ron Pruitt says 10.1.2012, 4:01 p.m.

God bless you Mr. Grahmn ... what a wonerful Godly father you have, and i do aprreciate you taking stand on this issue, i am very up-set also with what was said, i feel the same way , God help this Ministry, and God humble this Nation . Jesus is Lor

Mercy says 10.1.2012, 3:59 p.m.

Which is worse, one candidate denying the deity of God and Jesus, or one going against His laws...?

Sheila says 10.1.2012, 3:56 p.m.

Jesus is neither Republican or Democratic, He is the Son of God; the Saviour of the whole world. Where is our faith? Does the body of Christ pray as Christ did. I say, not. Christ must be weeping at our unbelief. We must be holy as He is Holy.

ELLEN T says 10.1.2012, 3:53 p.m.

WOW...I cried when witnessing that apalling travesty at the DNC. What disaster this country is choosing through tolerance and deception. The ANGER of the Lord...

I will pray every day for God to save our country and for all that the BGEA is doing. God bless you.

jennie says 10.1.2012, 3:47 p.m.

The state of America is grave because of people who call themselves christians but don't know who to vote for! It's because of those who are "called by (His) name" that haven't humbled themselves to seek Him and HIS truth.

Ellaree says 10.1.2012, 3:47 p.m.

Franklin you are the voice of the hearts and minds of God's people all over our nation. You are correct on God's judgement. Seems it is already falling on us. Let us unite in prayer, and stand firm on God's Word.

Thomas says 10.1.2012, 3:40 p.m.

I for one am happy they decided to get God out of the Government. God has no place in the Government. The Government is full of terrible people, not someone you want your God to be.

SDH says 10.1.2012, 3:20 p.m.

Beloved, The issue of sin has been settled; For it is written, "It is finish."" The healing of our land is not a political issue. It's a heart issue. We are selfish and our hearts are darkened. Yet, we claim we are of the light. Let us repent!

voncile says 10.1.2012, 3:19 p.m.

I truly believe we are in the last days that God spoke about in His word .I do want you to know I sent a letter to NC newspaper and to the TV Station.for not taking a stand on Gay Right's and the Southern beliefs and morals of our Southern States

Paul says 10.1.2012, 2:58 p.m.

God surely wants His churches to unite on these two sexuality/sanctity issues. But with church disunity, wealthy Republicans try to exploit these two issues to get their candidate elected to greedily keep more money and less of Jesus' compassion.

Fred says 10.1.2012, 2:51 p.m.

Just visited your father's new library. Thank you for as a family you have shared the "Good News" of God's love for decades. Thank you for warning us that He is also a God of Justice and cannot continue to bless a nation that rejects Him.

Glenn says 10.1.2012, 2:50 p.m.

Bob says 10.1.2012, 2:35 p.m.

I am torn as to how to vote. I am in total agreement with the party that supports the sancticy of life and traditional marriage, but am opposed to the party's stand on taxation, and Medicare. I seek God's will in this matter.

Chris says 10.1.2012, 2:26 p.m.

I was also sickened by the lack of respect for the name of God, and the nation of Israel. In II Chronicles, it states what will occur if we turn from our wicked ways. I hope and pray that it is not too late.

Magnhild says 10.1.2012, 2:26 p.m.

Ana says 10.1.2012, 1:40 p.m.

I can understand many of you who are at lost for whom to vote, but the choice is clear. The sanctity of life and God's law on marriage must be defended if we can't at least do that, then we'll fail God.

Jan J says 10.1.2012, 12:50 a.m.

Lynda says 10.1.2012, 12:50 a.m.

It is my prayer that God will open the eyes of his people and all people. It was in the Garden of Eden that Adam and Eve believed the lie of the devil over the truth of Almighty God. The blind cannot see. Open our eyes Lord Jesus to see through you.

I have to vote for the party that helps the poor. These are Biblical principles too...(fighting poverty, loving your neighbor, advocating peace). Voting for the party that protects the rich is what scares me. There are Christian Democrats too!

Heidi says 10.1.2012, 12:29 a.m.

I am a Christian that believes you should look at both men's values not their religions and find the one closer to what Christ has taught you. It really is not that hard. The Lord will open your eyes if you take the time to pray and listen.

Boboy says 10.1.2012, 12:28 a.m.

We need to be more vigilant on issues that affects our choice in this election. Thank you BGEA for your bold stand on those issues.

Rosina says 10.1.2012, 12:27 a.m.

Franklin, I totally agree with your comments.I pray that the american people no longer see evill as good, and good as evil, as your father always have preached. May the Lord opens the eyes of many americans next election. God bless.

Gregory says 10.1.2012, 12:24 a.m.

Bro. Franklin,I appreciate and applaud the truth you have given us here. The fact is, there are people out there that claim to be Christian, but have never experienced a blood bought salvation. In Christians lives, there are things untolerabe.

michael b says 10.1.2012, 12:21 a.m.

God Bless you Franklin.

Archie says 10.1.2012, 12:21 a.m.

I agree with your stance on same sex marriage and abortion. If you are personally against it, but vote for the candidate that endorses it, then you have supported it indirectly. But do we vote for a Mormon? Maybe its time to look at other parties.

Carolyn says 10.1.2012, 12:21 a.m.

I will continue to pray daily and to give finanically so the gospel may continue to spread. We need now more than ever to do as the scripture says....."Pray and seek his face.....

Thelma says 10.1.2012, 12:18 a.m.

You're doing a great work in what you were called to do-bringing the message of salvation to the lost. I pray that God will help people to vote for Bible believing Pres and Reps this year. So important to Pray, Pray,Pray for guidance in this election

Deb says 10.1.2012, 12:15 a.m.

I am so grateful for the work your father and yourself do. May Christians rise up this election and take a stand for GOD!

Sara says 10.1.2012, 12:10 a.m.

I believe that is the church responsibility not the politicians responsibility to protect our biblical values. both parties cannot stop the same sex marriage and abortion. Our light needs to be shine in the darkness. With love and patience we can..

Barbara says 10.1.2012, 12:03 a.m.

I agree that I cannot in good conscience vote for a president who endorses same sex marriage.

VIRGINIA says 10.1.2012, 12:02 a.m.

DEAR GOD, HELP US ALL STAND UP FOR BIBLICAL TRUTH. I PRAY FOR THESE WHO HAVE PAGANISTIC IDEAS. I THANK YOU FOR THE LEADERS LIKE BILLY AND FRANKLIN GRAHAM.TRUST IN THE LORD IN ALL THINGS AND HE WILL DIRECT THY PATH.

Sally Garcia says 10.1.2012, 11:55 a.m.

Franklin,I agree with what you have said re this upcoming election. But I can't see how we can vote for either one of the candidates. What to do???

Elaine says 10.1.2012, 11:48 a.m.

We are not to judge people on their beliefs. We all have to stand in the judgement. No one is 100 in anything that they do. This is why we have so many different religions today. Ask yourself do you fully believe in the Mormon religion?

Kellee says 10.1.2012, 11:45 a.m.

Franklin, I truly admire and respect your bold stance on preaching the Truths of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. You have my complete support and prayers. Keep up the good work.

Marge says 10.1.2012, 11:44 a.m.

I agree with all the above posts and I know that God is the answer. He will see us thru if we continue to pray and praise His power. He is the anwer!

Joan says 10.1.2012, 11:44 a.m.

You are Right on! I have been telling my Bible Study Ladies who always vote for the Democrat to look at the party who most represents Biblical principals. Thank you for this article and confirming my convictions regarding this election!

Jill says 10.1.2012, 11:42 a.m.

I believe we should pray for God's will for the person we elect this fall. No one candidate will have the same views on every subject, but maybe their plan for our country is a good one and won't help just a few. Our continued job is to pray.

Jim says 10.1.2012, 11:42 a.m.

I remember as a child Cliff Barrows visiting in our home in Fargo, ND. As a former Professor of Political Science I am aghast at the number of "Christians" who either do not vote or vote the party of defiance.

Lynn says 10.1.2012, 11:37 a.m.

I am praying daily for our country. I pray the Lord forgives the sins in this country and with prayer, restores us to "one nation under God."

Brian says 10.1.2012, 11:36 a.m.

Those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained. 1Samuel 2:30

barbara says 10.1.2012, 11:36 a.m.

I agree that this election may be the turning point for us as a nation but we always have hope for each individual who trusts in Jesus as their Lord and Savior and lives with Faith in our God. Thank you for coming to Buffalo and your faithfulness

Terrance says 10.1.2012, 11:34 a.m.

Thank you for all you do, for standing on the promises of God's Word and continuing to proclaim and educate us with the truth! We love you all so much and stand with you in all you do! Love, prayers and hugs to all of you in the BGEA family!

Linda says 10.1.2012, 11:34 a.m.

We all need to be on our knees praying to the Father for guidance in this important crossroads in our nations and our worlds history. God Bless your entire family and the tireless work you do.

Todd says 10.1.2012, 11:32 a.m.

It is good to hear and see a minister of the Gospel stand up and speak up and tell people of the whole word of God straight from the Bible. If more ministers would be God pleasers instead of people pleasers this country would not be in the shape that

Robert says 10.1.2012, 11:32 a.m.

Thank you Franklin Graham and may the Most High always guide and protect you

Adam says 10.1.2012, 11:31 a.m.

Struggling with voting for a Mormon. God's principals are important but the call Jesus gave is to love God and my neighbor. Not the straight ones, all of them. If God is to bring damnation and judgement then so be it. I am called to love.

Linda says 10.1.2012, 11:31 a.m.

God said if we turn from our wicked ways, He will save our land. Amen

Kim says 10.1.2012, 11:30 a.m.

Who do you vote for when neither candidate represents God's will and has questionable values? Does either candidate stand for any Christian values?

Deborah says 10.1.2012, 11:29 a.m.

my prayer for our nation: "God save the U.S.A. As we as His people humble ourselves, repent, seek Him, He will save us, forgive us, and heal our land. Only then will this happen. Or we truly trusting in Him? Thank you and your family for standing."

Larry says 10.1.2012, 11:27 a.m.

As a child growing up in a lower middle class family, we were Democrats. Democrats represented the working man and family values. As a 71 yr. old senior citizen, I now see the Democrat Party as the Face of Evil. Anti-Christian and secular.

Sherry says 10.1.2012, 11:27 a.m.

We are suppose to be a One Nation Under "GOD", but sad to say we are not. I would rather die than reject my dear God and my Saviour Jesus Christ, I will stand for God and Jesus Christ no matter what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Todd says 10.1.2012, 11:26 a.m.

Our "Vote" counts most in Jesus' eyes. Vote for biblical standards, morals and values; God will take care of the rest.

Kathy says 10.1.2012, 11:25 a.m.

Not everyone who accepts Christ is a right wing Republican. Abortion and marriage should not be the only issues to decide our vote.

Patricia says 10.1.2012, 11:24 a.m.

Thank you Rev.Graham,I am a Catholic and I thank you for your courage to speak the TRUTH,GOD'S WORD!

david says 10.1.2012, 11:24 a.m.

God bless you Franklin and you precious father Billy. Thanks for sharing the "light" of Jesus and His love to America and around the world. The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association has touches so many hearts around the world with God's message love,

Carolyn says 10.1.2012, 11:19 a.m.

Just because someone claims to be a Christian does not make it so. Matthew 7:15-23 tells us to beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves. You will recognize them by their fruit.

Betty says 10.1.2012, 11:18 a.m.

We all need to pray for our Christian leaders in our country, that they will stand true to GOD. GOD is our only HOPE. When will our Government remembers that this country was formed in the TRUST and LOVE of our LORD JESUS CHRIST? GOD is the ONLY WAY

Wanda says 10.1.2012, 11:18 a.m.

I fully agree. Christians need to wake up! As to two of the comments posted, God DID outline marriage in the bible. He condemned homosexuality.

Charlie says 10.1.2012, 11:18 a.m.

I am afraid that USA has lost the blessing God gave to Abraham. The curse is now upon us, however the everlasting Farther has the key. We may not save our nation, but we can call many to Christ. The church is being called out. J

Don says 10.1.2012, 11:17 a.m.

Take the so called religious views of both the candidates and vote for the person who believes in biblical views or supports them is all we can do. If we think God can't use a morman to run the country because of his religion we are wrong.

Raymond says 10.1.2012, 11:15 a.m.

Many thanks for both who you are, and how you stand on what you believe. So many of the nation, including self-professed Christians, are willing to continue to compromise values, and all in the spirit of "acceptance," and "coexistence." Hold the line

Crystal says 10.1.2012, 11:13 a.m.

Thank you so much for continuing to preach the hope that is ONLY found through Jesus Christ. I will continue to pray for you and your ministry and this lost world. May God soften our hearts toward Him and may we repent and turn back to Him!!!

Sharon says 10.1.2012, 11:12 a.m.

May God bless your crusade in South Sudan. I will be praying for you all.

Ernie says 10.1.2012, 11:12 a.m.

'Thanks for your insights. Judgement has already begun as with David in 1Chronicles 21. 70,000 citizens died from David's action. Since May, the president's same sex marriage public support action, the nation deaths have soared from unnatural causes.

Robert says 10.1.2012, 11:05 a.m.

Nothing can stand in the way of the Lord's Second Coming nor of the events that precipitate it, as noted in Revelations. We must live and vote as the Word commands, living in the world but not of it, despite our culture's trends. Stand firm!

Michael says 10.1.2012, 11:03 a.m.

America must have God and the Lord Jesus Christ as their foundation, that is what our country was built on by our Great Leaders in the past. I am a Christian Soldier and I put on the Armor of God. God said who shall I send? I answered, I will go.

Larry says 10.1.2012, 11:01 a.m.

I agree with your stand on the two issues stated. However, we only have two choices and must consider the total package.

Sophiie says 10.1.2012, 11:00 a.m.

When you vote, do so as a CHRISTIAN. No one has the right to take the power of God in their hands.Return to the Lord. Our country is in danger.

Sheryl says 10.1.2012, 11:00 a.m.

I didnot know this happened at the convention. I will definitely vote against such blasphemous behavior.

Shirley and Joe says 10.1.2012, 10:59 a.m.

Thanks for your wonderful letter. We must pray that people will vote according to God's plan this time. We are at a tipping point and we need people in office who believe in God and our Country! I wish everyone could read your letter.

Stewart says 10.1.2012, 10:56 a.m.

Thank you for your voice today!

The days looks dark but God is says 10.1.2012, 10:55 a.m.

2 Cor.7-14. I am sadden that christians are not voting on values, but party. God help us in these difficult DAYS LISTEN TO GOD'S words. President Lincoln said a nation that forgets GOD WILL CEASE TO BE A NATION. O GOD TODAY LISTEN

Kim says 10.1.2012, 10:55 a.m.

There are many issues at hand in the election that are also biblical. Where is the concern for the poor and needy? God is in control. What we need is a unified country. !

Jeannie says 10.1.2012, 10:53 a.m.

My heart is breaking as I watch what is happening in my country. Never in all my life did I ever think I would live to see the day that people of the USA would turn their backs on God and our on Israel. God says we will be cursed for doing this thing

Dotti says 10.1.2012, 10:52 a.m.

Sometimes I get so caught up trying to save our country from the political evil that surrounds it-I forget that God is the only one who can save our Nation.I have been praying hard that Americans will come back to Christ. He is our only Salvation.

Sam says 10.1.2012, 10:51 a.m.

Please, America, return to One Nation, UNDER GOD! This is the most important election, possibly in America's history. We MUST vote for candidates who openly profess their love of God. AMERICA BLESS GOD! Only HE can save us!

Margaret says 10.1.2012, 10:49 a.m.

I am in total agreement with the letter above. I was also appalled when the vote to put God back into the Democratic Convention. I truly felt terror in my heart that so many voted no. Prayer is truly needed and required of God's people.

Diana says 10.1.2012, 10:48 a.m.

Praise the Lord for your stand. We need to all stand together in this.

Sylvia says 10.1.2012, 10:47 a.m.

I so appreciate the work your father and whole family is doing. I will continue to support you in whatever way I can I pray that our GOD will stand strong with our nation through our voting this Fall. We will honor him by our choices.

Tommy says 10.1.2012, 10:42 a.m.

I have loved and respected Billy Graham for years and now I watch you, Franklin, continue the wonderful work you dad started so many years ago. God bless you and your sister ,Ruth, I heard her speak in our church a couple of years ago.

James says 10.1.2012, 10:42 a.m.

GOD is the answer and Jesus will save those in this great nation that can be saved, I truly hope our nation can realize what God did to make this the nation it is now, God Bless you

Janice says 10.1.2012, 10:41 a.m.

I agree with your stance on same sex marriage and abortion. However, do we vote for a man who is strongly Christian, even though his party avocates the above, or do we vote for a Mormon? May God guide us all.

Michon says 10.1.2012, 10:39 a.m.

I appreciate your letter and understand your position, however, only God can define marriage. Further, Christians should practice tolerance. It is the church's responsibility to set the example... Revisit biblical marriage ex:David, Jacob, Abraham

Nancy says 10.1.2012, 10:39 a.m.

iMy husband and I will be in prayer for the Crusades in South Sudan and Thailand daily. God surely uses your family well.

Sally says 10.1.2012, 10:38 a.m.

Amen to you all. It makes me want to cry the direction this country is going in. All we can do is to pray for a revival for this nation before its too late. TO GOD AND HIS MERCY AND GLORY

Bill says 10.1.2012, 10:38 a.m.

My wife and I are praying each night for God's mercy for our country. We claim 2 Chron. 7:14 each night. Thanks to BGEA for voicing the bold truth of the Gospel.

Shirley says 10.1.2012, 10:35 a.m.

Thank you for standing up for God and preaching the good news to all who will listen. I know we are not to fear, but I am afraid of the way our country is going. I am praying to the Lord to restore our country and give us Christian leaders.

janeg says 10.1.2012, 10:34 a.m.

What are we supposed to do? Neither candidate is who I'd choose. I think the republican candidate will take away so much of what older, retired people need to exist. I'm at a loss of HOW TO VOTE.

Deb says 10.1.2012, 10:32 a.m.

Thank you for your boldness on the matters of America and the political situation. May God keep blessing you and to keep giving you the courage and strength that you need. Our U.S. is in big trouble, I pray for our strength and courage as well.

Dee says 9.30.2012, 8:03 p.m.

God Bless you and your father! Your family has been an inspiration to me for many, many years. May God continue to bless your endeavors in Christ's name. Thank you for this timely message!

Babinu says 9.30.2012, 6:22 p.m.

PraiseGOD for this message ! Pray that Americans return to the LORD

Carol says 9.30.2012, 09:53 a.m.

I so support everything your letter says and you efforts and hope are shared by many. God Bless all the efforts of BGEA

Bob says 9.29.2012, 06:43 a.m.

to all who reject Him, stop and think God made us in His image. Can you really reject Him? He will forgive you and make you into a new person in Christ, please do not harden your heart

Susan says 9.28.2012, 5:06 p.m.

I am so grateful I came across this post from you, Franklin. It is the first I've read that expresses the horror of watching the shouts against God at the DNC. I wondered if I'd imagined it.... America is at a tipping point.
