My Answer

I have a lot of problems, and my friend says that, if I just have enough faith, God will take them away. Is she right? If so I guess I'll always have them, because my faith isn't very strong. — T.J.

No doubt your friend is sincere and wants to help you, but God hasn't promised to take away all our problems if we just have enough faith. Sometimes God does intervene and take them away in response to our prayers of faith, but not always. Instead, sometimes He gives us the courage and strength to carry on in the midst of our problems.

No one had a stronger faith than the Apostle Paul, and yet, in spite of his faith and his prayers, God chose not to take away a particular problem that oppressed him (an unnamed illness). Instead, in the midst of his weakness, Paul experienced a new measure of God's power and love. He said, "Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness'" (2 Corinthians 12:8-9).

Don't misunderstand me; no matter what problems we face, we should turn to God and seek His help. After all, isn't it better to face our problems with God than without Him? Remember Jesus' words: "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26).

Most of all, don't be satisfied with a weak faith. Begin by making sure of your commitment to Jesus Christ, and then grow in your faith by making the Bible and prayer and fellowship with other believers part of your daily life. God loves you, and He wants you to learn to walk with Him every day.

Billy Graham has been a part of my life for 68 years! I remember seeing in a crusade in my town long ago. My brother was saved in that crusade. He presents Christ, the gospel of Salvation, and asks for a response. Simple. Very effective. Thanks!

Jesus promised He'd be with us even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20). Knowing He's always there, even when I'm struggling, I have hope to hold onto.

Our precious Lord is with us always. I talk to him constantly. Only recently do I live in fear of this untruthful government and I wonder if our great country will disintegrate.

When one really thinks about what Jesus did for us on the Cross...the physical pain from the beating alone would have killed me for sure, but I can't imagine what taking on all of the worlds sin must of felt like! A Love like no other!

My family is in a financial mess. If something does not break, we will lose out home and our cars. We are in desperate need of prayer.

Cathy says 9.20.2012, 10:24 p.m.

Jesus said, In this world we will have trouble but that He has overcome the world( and therefore our troubles). He did not promise no mountains in life but promised to bear our burdens with us.

Carol says 9.20.2012, 9:56 p.m.

I can face anything this world throws my way because of the promise of Jesus, "lo" I AM with you always even until the end. Praise you Lord for your faithfulness and you continued mercy in the lives of all who love you and trust in your holy name.

Our time in this world is fleeting as we move through it on our way home to be with Jesus and his unending love. I think existing in this life is based on how much you love, first - our Lord Jesus, and of course others, and then ourselves.

What Dr. Graham is saying is true. I had a major illness back in 2008. God did not take it away, but he has helped me to cope with it. He will help you too. Trust in him always.

I have tried to always keep positive and look in God's Word when I have a problem because there is always an answer from God and His Word. Yes, God is the answer for this world and every situation God is love and He has the power to change a person

I have found that through daily Bible study, the Lord gives me peace and assurance that though the world around us is in chaos, He is still in control and will NEVER leave us or forsake us.

Francis says 9.20.2012, 12:25 a.m.

What I have learned in life is to ASK any question in life you might have to God - and then, when we cooperate with Him to find the answer - GOD ANSWERS EVERY QUESTION. The Bible does not say -SEEK and ye shall PROVE - it says SEEK and ye shall FIND

Jesus is the only answer to our problem,

Bolaji says 9.20.2012, 12:14 a.m.

Nothing is to be feared only to be understood. We are not serving a wicked God (Isa 49:15)... But without faith it is impossible to please God... Faith in God makes us understand what He's passing to us in time of trials.Thank you sir, my father in the Lord

Sharron says 9.20.2012, 12:11 a.m.

I was reading my bible one night and as I read of God's decision to offer Jesus for our sins I found myself crying with Him. I lost a child when she was only 8 months and 27 days old. Both instances reinforced my faith.

Patrick says 9.20.2012, 12:00 a.m.

I have found that what I thought were bad things occurring to me turned out in the long run to be for the better. Remember, the Bible says that all things work out for the better for those who love God.

Janice says 9.20.2012, 11:52 a.m.

Boy Naomi, that is such a true statement!!!!!!! Should make us all feel different about our problems!!!!!!!!!Thanks

Marcia says 9.20.2012, 11:33 a.m.

It's true, no problem compares with what Jesus had to suffer, and I realize this. I, however have just not been able to press through my problems because there are so many, including health, finances and feelings of despair.

Thomas says 9.20.2012, 11:28 a.m.

when we are hit by serious problems we often tend to solve the problems our own way but "THE BIBLE" tells us not to lean on our own understanding but to trust him with all our hearts,by that we are making CHRIST our lord.

S/times in the midst of problems what helps is 2 write down really intense struggles/problems u had b4 but thought you'd never make it through, then recall that you have. Helps in the midst of serious real problems.

MaryKay says 9.20.2012, 10:56 a.m.

I needed to know what happened to me as a child to cause my mental illness and The Lord God Jesus Christ revealed to me that something traumatic happened to me by an immediate family member. The insight is to overwhelming. I cannot handle it

Naomi says 9.5.2012, 11:55 p.m.

I have found that any problem I may have does not compare to Jesus Christ being savagely beaten and hung on that cross! I am learning to saturate my time with God's promises. I can not imagine being with out Jesus Christ.
