Will Graham's Message Resonates in Thurrock

September 26, 2011 - Preaching on three consecutive nights just east of London, Will Graham, grandson of Billy Graham and son of Franklin Graham, shared messages of hope that resonated with close to 2,000 people at Rock Thurrock. Hundreds made decisions for Christ over the weekend.

The Gospel still resonates on both sides of the pond.

One week after hundreds made decisions for Christ at Rock the River in Winnipeg and less than a month after hundreds more accepted Christ as their Savior in Denver and Milwaukee, Rock Thurrock is having the same life-changing effect on London.

Close to 2000 people packed into Thurrock Civic Hall this weekend to hear Will Graham, grandson of Billy Graham and son of Franklin Graham, share the life-changing message of the Gospel.

"If all these young people would show up at church tomorrow, we'd have revival instead of riots," said Lillian, who counseled two unchurched 12-year-old girls.

Last month, riots spontaneously erupted, starting in north London and quickly expanding to major cities all over England. The youth unemployment rate is hovering at 20 percent in London and young people are searching for hope.

Another woman, Vera, who accepted Christ in 1989 at a Billy Graham telecast event in Thurrock, also volunteered as a counselor and works with nine 10-year-old children as a teacher's aide. She said she was blessed to see several of her former students at Rock Thurrock on Saturday.

Three bands performed at Rock Thurrock—LZ7, Empire Nation and Beautiful Remnant—to an enthusiastic response on Saturday and Sunday.

Friday night also saw a near-capacity audience as Will Graham preached and the Gathering Band brought worship music to a family-friendly event that saw many people of all ages come to Christ.

I was privileged to be part of the Rock Thurrock Weekend as an encourager, it was so amazing to see God working thru his children to bring the lost to him. It was an awesome experience and one that will stay with me for the rest of my life. This is the first step for us in Thurrock to follow up all those that gave their life to the Lord and I truly believe that there were many more seeds that were planted over the last three nights. How amazing is our God that he loves each and everyone of us and uses us in ways which we could never imagine to bring the lost and those in darkness to his ever lasting light. I was blessed to meet and see so many fellow Christians from all that was involved in this weekend and the bands and Will we all had the same message to spread the good news. It has truly given be a deeper relationship with the lord a thirst to keep going forward to inspire and help others, i pray for all the lost in the world that they will one day give their lives to the Lord and if God wants to use me I am ready and I am willing praise the Lord !!!!
