Franklin Graham Statement on Accusations Against Sarah Palin

Franklin Graham Statement on Accusations Against Sarah Palin

I have been shocked at the reports from those suggesting that former Governor Sarah Palin has some level of responsibility for the horrific shooting in Arizona. I got to know Governor Palin when she served as Governor of Alaska. She was extremely helpful to Samaritan’s Purse in providing relief to remote villages throughout the state. Most recently, she and members of her family traveled with me to Haiti where we visited Cholera clinics, temporary shelter communities, and participated in an Operation Christmas Child distribution.

She is a kind and compassionate God-fearing woman who believes with all her heart that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Whether you agree with her politics or not, it is outrageous to suggest that her political opinions encourage violence toward anyone. This is a time for mourning and prayer for the victims and their families.

See Photos of Sarah Palin and Samaritan's Purse.

I believe that Sarah Palin is a true christian. When you have a relationship with Jesus Christ it doesn"t matter what people say about you. It says in the Bible that you with be persecuted for being a christian. Keep up the great work! God is very proud of you! God is very proud of Franklin Graham as well.

eleanore says 1.17.2011, 03:43 a.m.

for some reason, I've always liked Sarah Palin. I don't know her personally nor have I read a lot of articles about her. It's just that her face, I perceive, is a face that loves Jesus. She has that tender, glowing look that I cannot comprehend. i only know that she loves God.

Anel says 1.16.2011, 10:33 p.m.

I know every christian knows that we will reap what we sow. I know we should love everybody that is what God requires of us, but Mrs. Sarah Palin and all of us if we don't do the right thing, if we hate it will come back on us and when it does it will be 10 times worse on you than what was done to someone else. So all who believe in God know this, it's coming up again.

Herbert says 1.16.2011, 9:47 p.m.

I appreciate you Franklin, for speaking out on behalf of Sarah Palin. I know she is representing the right cause based on who her opposition happens to be. We are not only know by our the friends we have, but by those how are our enemies. God Bless you! and God bless Sarah Palin!

Robert says 1.16.2011, 8:15 p.m.

We know WHO controls all things. It is beyond the anit-Christian press control to change the Will of God. Thank you for speaking up for a fellow believer.

Barbara says 1.16.2011, 06:36 a.m.

It is high time we stop heralding "God Bless America", please join with me in asking God to HELP America. We as a whole, are not in a position to be blessed. We most definately need Gods help, though. It is important that godly people, in position, stand up for what is right. Thank you Sarah, for allowing your life to be put under the microscope for the GREATER GOOD.

Al says 1.16.2011, 01:08 a.m.

Mr. Graham, your father and my dad both went to Wheaton at the same time and I consider them both as Great men. I have learned over many years that words out of are mouth can be very powerful, I am sure Mrs Palin loves the Lord, I pray she can find her real calling very soon.

valerie says 1.15.2011, 7:44 p.m.

It is time for everyone to realize that words are powerful. What we say can turn someone who is trying to make a decision in the wrong direction. Using words like target, or reload may be to some just that, words, but to someone on the fringe it can be lets go to war. I don't care what political party you belong to, think of consequences before using them. Our best words are to praise God and ask his blessing on EVERYONE in this country.

Richard says 1.15.2011, 5:01 p.m.

Let let the Lord deal with these people. Psalm 54: 5 Let evil recoil on those who slander me; in your faithfulness destroy them. 6 I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you; I will praise your name, O LORD, for it is good. 7 For he has delivered me from all my troubles, and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes. God Bless You Sarah.

Robin says 1.15.2011, 1:52 p.m.

If you only consider her political speak against the left it is one thing, but her warmongering and disregard of the lives of those in the ME she is not such a great example of a God fearing Christian woman. She is all to ready to go to war with entire countries she truly kows nothing about and actually seems to enjoy the anticipation of it. Sorry folks God loves all people not just Americans.I do not connect her to the shootings in AZ by ay stretch of the imagination though. She let's the pride of a flag overide Gods teachings.

June says 1.15.2011, 1:39 p.m.

Good statement - to the comment above referring to "naming names" and being taxed - you show your ignorance to the laws of non-profits. Rev. Graham did not endorse a candidate, nor suggest that the readers vote for anyone in particular.....which actually IS the thing that would have been prohibited by the law. It's ridiculous that any of us are even having this discussion - what a horrible reflection on our nation that a person chooses to perform such a heinous act, and our immediate response is to blame a public figure. Shame on the American media and any who are part of this circus.

Martha says 1.15.2011, 12:08 a.m.

I am so proud of the people that stand up for what is right and while I agree that we need to be tactful in how we word our disagreements. It is goodness and faith that is under attack. At this appointed time we must understand that as followers of Christ will be assaulted not because of our choice of words but because of "truth." The enemy wishes to divide us, Christ unites us. Thank you Rev. Graham and thank you Sarah like King David you have a heart that pursues God.

Liliya says 1.14.2011, 10:39 p.m.

With all due respect I believe that any Christian political leader especially a woman should be wise, careful and respectful in the open expression of any opposition toward other parties leaders (men or women respectfully). We as citizens of the USA do require with all respect to chose words and actions carefully as the Word of God teaches us so especially if you would like to represent Christ, the Hope of Glory!

Nanette says 1.14.2011, 8:24 p.m.

Thank You Franklin! I so appreciate you stating support. I am in agreement with so many other posts. It's always someone elses fault. How about the people that knew he was a ticking time bomb????????????

Juan from Massachusetts says 1.14.2011, 7:30 p.m.

Thank you, lets continued to pray for the love of God to be powered in every living heart, for God sake.

Don says 1.14.2011, 5:27 p.m.

I live in Tucson and have several personal connections to the events. We are a community of over 1 million people, but it does--as the media has reported--have a small town feel to it. Franklin, I wish you would consider coming here to do a Festival. There are many hurting people here, believer and nonbeliever, who would benefit from your visit. I saw you in Tucson back in the 80s. Tucson is one of the least churched cities in America. But I believe the time is right for a tremendous harvest of souls. The only things on this Earth that will remain are God's Word and men's souls. Souls in Tucson were perishing daily before the horrific events of Jan 8th and continue to do so. The fields are white for harvest here.

Matt B says 1.14.2011, 4:25 p.m.

Stay out of the political sphere or be taxed. It is the law. If you teach spiritual principles, you don't need to name names.

Ruth says 1.14.2011, 3:30 p.m.

Thank God for Franklin and the BGEA for standing up for Sarah, the Bible makes it very clear what the Christians' role is. We are not to pass judgements without knowing the facts. We also know that we are in the last days and those of us who love and fear God are going to become targets because of our faith. Our role is to pray for those families who have lost loved ones and those who are still recovering from their injuries. We must pray for the man who shot those victims and his family.

mike says 1.14.2011, 1:13 p.m.

The President of the United States spoke wisely recently at the memorial service recently when he chose the words, "And so deserving of our good example. If this tragedy prompts reflection and debate, as it should, let's make sure it's worthy of those we have lost. Let's make sure it's not on the usual plane of politics and point scoring and pettiness that drifts away with the next news cycle".

Joyce says 1.14.2011, 1:01 p.m.

The ones who are attacking Sarah Palin are the very ones who started all the disention to begin with by trying to strip us of our constitutional rights as Americans. They saw this as an opportunity to jump on her once again, because she had the guts to stand up to them! Thanks to you for speaking up in her defense!

Konstantin says 1.14.2011, 11:27 a.m.

The tricks of political blaming should be taken seriously and those who blame others with no supportive evidence should know that God Himself will judge their false statements.

BERP says 1.14.2011, 11:23 a.m.

Some people are always looking for someone to blame besides the guilty. God knows.

Johns says 1.14.2011, 09:44 a.m.

It is a devil's work to destroy those whose walk is blameless. When the righteous will stand, evil can't survive.

Cindy says 1.14.2011, 09:21 a.m.

I can not understand why people HATE this women so much. She loves God and Country. I do my best not to walk around and judge people. I leave that business to God.

Tetyana says 1.14.2011, 09:09 a.m.

Agree Dick.

TIM GURLEY says 1.14.2011, 09:08 a.m.

Thank you, Franklin Graham, For speaking for Sarah Palin, I was outraged to hear that they blamed Sarah Palin. SARAH I HOPE you run in 2012 for President, It is sad that those people were murdered, and I prayed for all the families. same day. Thank you Franklin Graham

Jessie says 1.14.2011, 07:55 a.m.

Thank you for your kindness and wisdom. As I watched every episode of Gov. Sarah Palin's series, it made me feel that I got to know her as a person. Not ever would I ever think she would be involved in anything of such a terrible crime like that in Arizona. I along, watch your broadcasts and live my life for God. People need to look at themselves and not set judgment for they are not the one that has the right to judge. I am with everyone on here and agree that we all need to pray for the families of those in this time of need. God bless and thanks again for standing up for our sister in Christ Sarah Palin!!

Susan says 1.14.2011, 07:42 a.m.

I cannot imagine any clear headed individual believing that Sarah Palin had any connection with that evil gunman. I do believe, however, that each of us ~ politician or not~ have the ability to speak plainly with kindness. Words are powerful. Speak with compassion. Why use words of war when we are all Americans and not enemies! Jesus would not "target" anyone!

Scoti says 1.14.2011, 06:47 a.m.

One person's actions are viewed by the many, but explained by the few and the context of their personal explanation leads the many to ignore the facts... I've been so blind, Sarah will you please forgive me, and I beg America to vote for the right of Freedom. S

Brian Franks says 1.14.2011, 06:05 a.m.

Thanks Reverend, for your kind comments. It's outrageous to accuse anyone on either side of fueling this kind of hatred. It's despicable!

Carolyn says 1.14.2011, 02:38 a.m.

Thank You and GOD Bless You for stepping up to the plate and defending Sarah Palin! I had the privilege of meeting Sarah and receiving her autograph. In the arena of life and politics, she is so-o-o real, down to earth and extremely genuine. I admire her tenacity, strength, and intelligence. She wants the best for Americans and our country for which we are so richly Blessed. She should not have 'had to' even defend herself in the first place! Any lady who can tackle commercial fishing, hunting, mining, 4-wheeling, chain saw a tree as well as a man without fear and then gracefully walk across a stage with poise to deliver a speech without tele-prompters is some king of woman with GOD on her side!!! Her heart is in the right place! I pray for HIS PROTECTION to cover Sarah. I am proud to share the same birthday with her which is February 11th!!!

James says 1.14.2011, 00:12 a.m.

Our words are important. When people use violent and hateful terms to describe those they disagree with, they are not showing christian dignity, whether they happened to be a lefty or a righty. I certainly agree that no person other than Loughner is responsible for this crime, but to suggest all of the recent rhetoric is morally right in some way is clearly misguided. It is equally misguided to show anger at accusations by the left by accusing the left.

Warren says 1.14.2011, 00:12 a.m.

We love Sarah and wish she was our President, She is a God fearing person and the ones that hate her needs to get their mind and hearts straighten out, if not just shut up.

Sandy says 1.13.2011, 11:36 p.m.

I haven't heard all the ways they are trying to link her to this man, and what i have heard is pretty much hearsay. I have heard that he was neither left nor right and that he didn't listen to talk radio. So, how is it that she is indirectly responsible? Because she believes in the right to bare arms and hunts? Will we say today that we shouldn't have gone to war against Hitler and what he was doing? And is Sadam or Al Quaida any different? I don't know anyone who likes war, or WANTS war no matter what their stance is on guns or gun control. Stereotyping works both ways and it's rampant right now and the fact that the media has a very liberal slant, and that they have a relentless need to make her look bad should make any intelligent person, let alone a person of GOD see that this is nothing but a witch hunt.

eddie says 1.13.2011, 11:26 p.m.

We are praying you Sarah ansd your family

Joseph says 1.13.2011, 11:09 p.m.

Amen Franklin!

Paula says 1.13.2011, 10:38 p.m.

Thank you for standing up for Gov. Palin, it is ridiculous the reach that some politicians will go to to silence all of us. The Fairness Doctrine will raise its ugly head once again by those who want power over us. We all need to keep the pressure on our elected to remind them they work for us we do not work for them nor are we to be run over by our elected. Keep up the great work informing and standing on principles with strong values. God Bless you.

Philip says 1.13.2011, 10:31 p.m.

Amen! Always great to see BGEA standing up for what is right!

Shantel says 1.13.2011, 10:24 p.m.

Thank you for a website that isn't afraid to make a statement to defend truth. Mr. Graham, God bless you for your faith and strength to advance God's agenda and not man's. Too many people point fingers to find blame for tragedy when the truth is that sin creates tragedy. We all are born sinners but Grace has set us free. Some choose to walk in grace while others don't. This terrible tragedy was an evil act of sin. No one to blame but Satan, his lies, sin, and the one who chose to walk in it.

cathy says 1.13.2011, 10:06 p.m.

Yes, thank you very much. She is a Godly woman and truly needs our prayers to continue on and for her safety. Thank you for being there for her and our country. Your dad is awesome as well.

Janie says 1.13.2011, 10:05 p.m.

Here in the southwestern part of the U.S. we believe in the right to bear arms. If this had happened in another state not in the southwest then the comments wouldn't have been made. Thank you for bringing Sarah Palin's character to light so that we can all get to know her better. Whether she will be President or not, she is a wonderful person. Thank you for all that you do also, Franklin Graham!

Caryl says 1.13.2011, 10:00 p.m.

When you make a stand for Jesus Christ as a politician, you will be attacked it's that simple. I am not surprised. We do not wrestle with flesh and blood. Let's continue to pray. Jesus is coming soon. Thanks Brother Franklin.

Betty says 1.13.2011, 9:55 p.m.

My prayers go out to you, Sarah and the families of the victims of Tucson.

wanda says 1.13.2011, 8:26 p.m.

Thank you Franklin for speaking up for Sarah Palin. She is a Christian who has values that so many have abolished in our beloved America. Pray for our country that we turn back to God our Father.

Alisa says 1.13.2011, 8:25 p.m.

Thank you for letting others know how you feel about the way some people are judging Governor Palin. As a born again Christian I can only believe that Sarah Palin has prayers for all the leaders in our country. May God continue to Bless you and your family and that he will help to heal our country.

Brenda says 1.13.2011, 8:20 p.m.

Thank you for all that you do and what your father has done. I beleive that the day will be soon when we will see our Lord and Savior. We need to pray for our country and the people that run it. PRAYER IS THE ONLY WAY!!!

Heidi says 1.13.2011, 8:17 p.m.

I was just today while in a conversation I wondered what your Dad might say about the whole situation in Az. and Sarah Palin. Thank-you Franklin for speaking up!

Jason says 1.13.2011, 8:17 p.m.

Right..... because if people believe in God they can do no wrong.

Ruth says 1.13.2011, 8:13 p.m.

Thank you, Franklin Graham, for speaking on this subject. It is so totally sad that we have stooped to such levels as this in our society. Satan is alive and trying at every angle to discourage Christ's followers. We know who has already won the battle and we press on. My heart goes out to Sarah Palin and her family.

Lisa says 1.13.2011, 7:44 p.m.

Thank you for taking up for Sarah! Please continue. She needs help stopping these attacks.

Beverly says 1.13.2011, 7:41 p.m.

Thank you for standing up for Sara Palin. the media and far left need Jesus.....

Millie says 1.13.2011, 7:40 p.m.

Our nation, needs to hear the truth. And I know many presidents that wanted to talk to your dad, Billy Graham. The greatest minister of our times. I wish he was able to speak to our nation once again. I pray that God will lead you in his foot steps. This nation needs you, and needs to hear what you have to say. May God Be With You Always.

Dee says 1.13.2011, 7:38 p.m.

Politics should be left out of this -- it is always a blame game, no matter what the issue. We should all unite, worship and praise God for all of our leaders and support them all.

Hector says 1.13.2011, 7:28 p.m.

Thanks Pastor Franklin for you statement about Sarah Palin..she is going to be attack and hated. It is good to someone standing with..she is on our prays...

Laurie says 1.13.2011, 5:55 p.m.

I so agree and support your opinion Franklin. Too bad we as a society want to point a finger at others rather than the ones who are clearly guilty. My heart goes out to all involved and to Sarah as well. May God's Grace prevail!

John says 1.13.2011, 5:55 p.m.

Truly we have slid into a despicable and desperate time that not only some off-the-cuff sheriff misinterprets the context of the actions of a lone and clearly disturbed individual but also, because he yelled so loud and so publicly that people completely ignore that everyone who knew Jared Loughner called him a "flaming" liberal! We need to stop living as if whoever holds the microphone longest and last is right. And, as an Arizonan, this sheriff did himself, his family and the integrity and character of his office a massive disservice.

Andrea says 1.13.2011, 5:54 p.m.

Thank you so much Mr Graham for speaking out against this injustice. It breaks my heart for Mrs Palin to be accused of such an atrocity. We know her to be a kind and loving woman. Our family just really supports her and her family. Thank you again for speaking to all the mean spirited people. God Bless, and we will continue to pray for our entire country.

Denise says 1.13.2011, 5:53 p.m.

You are absolutely right brother Graham, Sarah Palin has nothing to do with this Horrific Crime! The spirit of the enemy was all over this young man. That's whose responsible!

Melinda says 1.13.2011, 5:53 p.m.

I agree. So absurd I haven't even been able to find the words. People are bizarre and like to point fingers. The only one responsible for this tragedy is the young man who did the shooting. Why must we try to place blame elsewhere? Own your actions and stop blaming other people!

nita says 1.13.2011, 5:51 p.m.

Thank you so much for all that you stand for, from your mother and father right on down the line, it was great to see the video of Sarah Palin professing Christ ......this is a sad day we live in but, we know from scripture that it is coming ..God bless

Dianne says 1.13.2011, 5:44 p.m.

Thank you Franklin for taking a stand. As Christians we need and must stand together for the good of our Country. God Bless You. God Bless Sarah Palin and give her the courage and strength to stand tall.

Lucinda says 1.13.2011, 5:39 p.m.

Praise be to our lord. Thank you for bringing this to light.

Ruth says 1.13.2011, 5:39 p.m.

Thank you for being supportive of Sarah Palin as the left continues to berate her every word. God bless her and you as you all continue to try to live as he would have you to. I never cease to be amazed at what the left can find to jump on her about. If not her, her family, which is the same thing really.

Kathy says 1.13.2011, 5:18 p.m.

Thank you so much for supporting Sarah. We know that the enemy has blinded so many "enlightened" people and they don't even know they are being deceived, but we know to expect this because the Bible warns of this very thing happening. We need as many people to speak up for good as are speaking up for evil and we need to pray that these people will truly become enlightened by the light of Jesus Christ.

annette says 1.13.2011, 5:06 p.m.

Thank you for showing your compassion. I myself don't believe Sarah would say anything to cause such a tragedy.

janet says 1.13.2011, 5:05 p.m.

Thank you Franklin Graham for declaring the truth boldly. It is about time people were made to face up to the consequences of their actions and realise that freedom and responsibility go hand in hand.I join my prayers with countless others not just for America but for the state of society in general.

Sarah says 1.13.2011, 5:03 p.m.

Thank you for wisdom and information.I did not know where SP stood concerning faith in Christ, so this is good to hear and comes from some one we can trust.

Brenda says 1.13.2011, 4:54 p.m.

Thank you, Franklin for taking a stand. Just because we are Christians, we are not suppose to sit back and allow injustice like these attacks against Sarah to go on. If more pastors would speak out, this world would be a much better place. We love you and we love Sarah but most important we love and serve a God who knows our hearts and intentions. God Bless you and a big hug to your dad.

Tracy says 1.13.2011, 4:51 p.m.

Thank you Franklin for speaking up and for Sarah Palin. She needs all the support she can get right now from all the HATERS! Thank you also for all your wonderful work in the name of God.

Elaine says 1.13.2011, 3:19 p.m.

Bless you Rev. Franklin Graham for speaking out against demogogues. May the Lord richly bless your ministry.

Dwight says 1.13.2011, 08:56 a.m.

Franklin, thank you for taking a stand. Sadly, this kind of hate from 'the left' is because they hate God. And anyone who loves God is bad to them. But then we as Christians know this is coming. Are we prepared brothers and sisters?

Rob says 1.13.2011, 05:33 a.m.

Thank you Franklin.

Larry says 1.13.2011, 00:17 a.m.

I know God is proud of the work Sara Palin does and, Franklin Graham and their speaking up. Their honesty and strength comes from God. I know their taking a stand will encourage many others to start taking a Christian stand for America. As our news media and the liberals are nothing but deceivers.

Ursula says 1.13.2011, 00:07 a.m.

As Christians, we must remember that our words have power. We will give account for every word that we speak. We also must remember as Christians that people will know that we are Jesus disciples if we have love one for another. We also must remember as Christians that we will know them by their fruit; love, joy, peace, kindness, gentleness etc. When we speak, the spirit behind the message is also delivered. God knows the true intentions of our heart. God is light and in him is no darkness at all...... I would encourage all to pray for more of his love and the manifestation of his spirit. Jesus is the prince of peace. When a person is God fearing and full of Gods love, it will be apparent in their demeanor, they will not need to be defended. We pray for the victims of the Arizona massacre families. We also pray for those who are representing the Lord Jesus Christ that they may have a greater revelation and deeper understanding of his love for all mankind. The great commission...preaching the gospel to all mankind.

Theresa says 1.12.2011, 9:40 p.m.

America is a great nation! What makes us great? Is it our people, our beautiful land, our Constitution, our freedom? What really makes America great? A small still voice in the chaos and tragedies and even in the blessings still answers that question. Praying for our nation and those like Sarah called to leadership.

Gene says 1.12.2011, 5:24 p.m.

Thank you Franklin for standing up for Sarah Palin. We are living in days where Isaiah's prophecy is being fulfilled. Men call "right Wrong and wrong Right." Thank god for Sarah and the Tea Party. The left is bent on the destruction of this "One nation under God".

Bill says 1.12.2011, 5:05 p.m.

Thank you Franklin for standing behind Sarah Palin. We as Christinan better wake up to what is going in America, people trying take God out of our country. As Christians we should learn to stand-up for our faith in Jesus and what He has done for us Through the Cross. Bill

Alma says 1.12.2011, 4:16 p.m.

Thank you, Franklin Graham for speaking up. The two here in Arizona were so wrong to say what they did. I have asked each to resign. But, I really have no voice, 77 years old, but I can certainly protest these idiocies. What we need is a Christian in our Whitehouse. A Christian who is FOR America. This is not the America my father and my grandparents came to. Sadly.

FRANCES says 1.12.2011, 3:58 p.m.

THANK YOU FOR STANDING UP FOR GOV. SARAH PALIN. ALSO, THANK YOU FOR THE GOOD WORK THAT YOU DO AROUND THE WORLD.

Velma says 1.12.2011, 3:11 p.m.

All of us Christians, whether on the left, right or center, need to take the Bible's admonition about the dangers of the "Tongue" in James 3 more seriously and prayerfully.

Bud says 1.12.2011, 1:51 p.m.

It is by far one of the most horrific things to happen next to the 9-11. How the "Sam Hill" can they blame Sarah Palin for something like this. I am not necessarily a Palin fan along with Tea Party. The kid had to have heard all that from someone. Just Me. Bud

Rhonda says 1.12.2011, 1:08 p.m.

I'm a follower of Sarah Palin because she is a Godly woman, something missing in politics. This isn't her fault!! Thank you Mr. Graham for speaking up for her.

kk says 1.12.2011, 12:49 a.m.

Stand up for the truth, stand behind imperfect Christian politicians who are still out there working to make a difference in an imperfect world. Who will ever agree on everything? Be grateful for the good Sarah Palin has done and say that! The shooter killed, not Sarah. Pray that God will give His wisdom to those who seek Him, and His knowledge to all who serve Him, and God Bless America.

Liz says 1.12.2011, 12:41 a.m.

Thank you very much for standing up against the hate and unjust blame that is going around this country. I wish others on the side of God would do the same. God's side is the only side to be on - I pray for all the hateful people in this country so that they may open their eyes to their ignorance. God bless you.

Rich says 1.12.2011, 12:23 a.m.

I do not believe Sarah Palin is responsible for this crime. The man who pulled the trigger is. However, let us not forget that blame is also being pinned on Obama and the "liberal media" just as much as it's being pinned on Palin and others on the right. It's time to take a stand against ALL POLITICAL MOTIVATIONS to twist this tragedy around into political attacks.

Jewell says 1.12.2011, 11:48 a.m.

Thank you for standing up for Sarah Palin, I totally agree with you. God Bless!

Arlene says 1.12.2011, 11:26 a.m.

It is not unusual for politicians or any speaker to use military terms, in speeches. Several times, during the 2008 campaign, the pundits used the term, "putting Sarah Palin in the cross hairs". Did that mean they wanted to shoot her? Of course not. This is all about the Left's agenda to squelch our Freedom of Speech. They never let a good crisis go to waste.

Ronald Reagan: "We must reject the idea that every time a law is broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions."

Rich says 1.12.2011, 10:18 a.m.

I agree with Mr. Graham- I also feel that this country needs to turn back to the Good Lord and ask for help. I am a believer and feel the government should start reversing the wave of anti-christ movements. A person has he right to believe anything, but not push our values and traditions out of our lives. Thank you.

Linda says 1.12.2011, 10:05 a.m.

Thank you so much for speaking up for Sarah Palin. I agree completely with all you said. I appreciate so much all your ministry is doing to help people throughout the world physically and spiritually. Linda, Kindergarten teacher

Anita says 1.12.2011, 09:48 a.m.

Sarah Palin and others of the Tea Party absolutely bear some responsibility indirectly to the events in Tuscon. As a born again Christian I have been appalled at the militancy and vitriol exhibited by both!

Kuane says 1.12.2011, 09:14 a.m.

Talk about blurring the truth! We have a crazed man who in his insanity heartlessly murders innocents in a crowd...not just targeting Rep. Gifford-but the focus is on the politician. Then, this insane individual's best friend says he was neither left nor right nor did he care about politics. But, the press chooses to target Sarah Palin - causing a fervor of hatred for her, insinuating her involvement and we buy this mess. Pitiful!

Al says 1.12.2011, 08:58 a.m.

During a time of tragedy for the victims families,it is wonderful to hear a sane voice speaking without bias or agenda. These democrats are showing just how low they are willing to go to show the ignorance that follows their party and membership.

Bev says 1.12.2011, 08:43 a.m.

Thank you Dr. Graham, we need more people like you that have Christian beliefs. Our founding fathers wanted us to be a Christian Nation, what has happened?? Please keep speaking out, Pray for our nation and our troops.

Friend says 1.12.2011, 08:38 a.m.

Thank you Mr. Graham for speaking up. People read Bonhoeffer by Eric Metaxas. All that is happening and similiar is happening. Draw close to God and he will draw close to you. Otherwise you will not be able to stand up to what is coming. Read your Bibles. Mr. Graham has been speaking the truth.

David - Thomasville,GA says 1.12.2011, 07:42 a.m.

Thank you Franklin for voicing for so many that which we believe and know to be the truth about Sarah Palin. She is a godly woman who publicly professes Jesus as her Personal Savior and Lord. This attrocity belongs to one man who has given himself over to hate, violence and destruction. Anyone expoilting this evil act to push their agenda is in fact promoting it.

Sunny says 1.12.2011, 07:41 a.m.

Thank you for standing up for Sarah Palin. I am thankful that she is a Christain, and I pray she will become our next President. May God help us to have a strong Christain in the White House. We need to turn back to God as a nation and having a Christain president will show us as a Christain nation once again. May God continue to bless us!

Bobby says 1.12.2011, 06:48 a.m.

This was a tragedy that we all mourn over and for the victims and their families. Let's pray for them all and pray that God will comfort the famaily members. AMEN

Hank says 1.12.2011, 06:25 a.m.

Thank you for your support of Sarah Palin. These Pundits like Pat Kennedy are the people that continue to destroy this country because of the self interests

Patty says 1.12.2011, 06:24 a.m.

What an outrage! Correct this is a time of mourning. Some seem to be waiting in the wing to promote their hidden agendas, by leveraging off others in a bad way. As Christians are we becoming complacent to these appalling accusations. Surely we can rise up in a big way with an active roll. I don't know the next step other than united prayer.

Thank you! says 1.12.2011, 01:18 a.m.

Thank you for the pictures of Sarah. They are worth a thousand words.

Joe says 1.12.2011, 01:04 a.m.

I agree with you guys, there is no reason for any of this. I am not sure I would want her as President, but she is a good person, and helps a lot of people, so I see no reason not to support her efforts.

Kay says 1.12.2011, 00:58 a.m.

Thank you so much for supporting Governor Palin. A public servant who is not ashamed of her God.

Bruce says 1.12.2011, 00:57 a.m.

I agree with Franklin, our society has been so conditioned to let our youth grow up with all this corruption, murder, rape, cursing etc. It is small wonder our kids are so violent and messed up. It is not the LORDS' way, it is Satans' way. The gospel states that man will become weaker and wiser. I think you have to look at that with broad strokes of periods in civil and social acts. When you constantly pour evil acts by the bucket full on our kids. All the killing games that are available for so call entertainment. Wow our kids don't have much of a chance. Don't blame 1 or 2 people for these crimes, we have to look at ourselves and say where can we start to get this stuff off our airways, out of our play station game rooms. Praise be to GOD,to help us through these terrible times.

Hope says 1.12.2011, 00:31 a.m.

Thank you, Franklin, for speaking truth in love. Like your father, you use the Word of God as your standard...may all of America do the same.

Miichael says 1.11.2011, 11:52 p.m.

It just boggles the mind that a sheriff would say publicly that Rush, Palin, and other conservatives are responsible for this crime. I am wondering why the sheriff didn't have a handle on it and prevent it's occurrence. Huh Clarence? MJB

Beverly Green says 1.11.2011, 11:47 p.m.

How Swift this Once Great Nation is sliding down to far worse than nothingness.

Missy says 1.11.2011, 11:43 p.m.

Thank you, Dr. Graham, for being brave enough to stand up for Sarah Palin. You have inserted a voice of reason in this outrageous discussion. Your stand will not be forgotten.

Carol says 1.11.2011, 11:40 p.m.

I have no doubt she is all you say she is, however I'm sorry but her comments and actions can be inflammatory, especially to people who have a mental situation of the type suggested for the person responsible for this action. She may not be responsible, free speech yes, but context and actions can sometimes give the wrong message.

Chuck says 1.11.2011, 11:36 p.m.

I support Rev. Franklin Graham's statement and I find that the left wants to take any excuse to demonize those active and concerned citizens who voted and began to change the tide of socialism and who will try to stop the MURDER of millions of babies on these shores and who do not condone the wanton and senseless murder of anyone with an opposing opinion. Don't we all have the right to our opinion. This murderer was not affiliated with the groups of concerned citizens, but apparently had his own agenda, but any port in a storm for those desperate to cause chaos and continue a habit of lying, if required to make a point and gain self perceived political advantage. The trend of this type of charges is chilling for liberty and freedom of speech.

Fran says 1.11.2011, 11:27 p.m.

Thank you for your statement on accusations against Sarah Palin Thank you for the reminder that we should be offering prayers at this time. Christian leadership must be evident.

Jim says 1.11.2011, 11:14 p.m.

THis country is moving furthur away from our founding fathers desire of a nation and closer to what the Bible has said would happen. Even present day non professors of God and churches are starting to talk about the Bible predictions, even talk shows.

Alex says 1.11.2011, 11:11 p.m.

This is the greatest (unexplainable to the non-believer) example of spiritual warfare that I have seen to date. Why would this woman be so "intellectually" attacked? Before her was Pres. George Bush. Many, many "intellectual" arguments ended from the opposition with this closing statement, "Well, Bush is just dumb." Why do these battles seem so foolish to the believer and so justified by the non-believer? It is truly a battle of the unseen forces. We should stand up for our sister in Christ!

Linda says 1.11.2011, 10:59 p.m.

Thank you for your support of Sarah!

Lorraine says 1.11.2011, 10:50 p.m.

How unconsionable that someone could even consider Gov. Palin as somehow contributing to this heious crime. Palin who is a Christian and stands only for righteousness and godly principles. May she become our next president.

Norman says 1.11.2011, 10:18 p.m.

Thank you, Franklin Graham, for speaking up for this fellow saint, Sarah Palin! It is sad indeed that so many want to blame and judge others without knowing or even attempting to know the facts. Hate is so blind and we are seeing how this hate driven attack on Sarah Palin is so counter productive to bringing reconciliation to the political discourse in America. Let us all pray for America and especially for the victims and families of the Tucson rampage. Pray for revival both here and around the world!

Dick says 1.11.2011, 8:04 p.m.

Once again, Franklin shows his compassion, loyalty and wisdom. We have a magnificent leader.
