Please Pray For Haitian People and Relief Workers

November 5, 2010 - The nation of Haiti has been pummeled this year by tragedy, death, and loss. Now, Hurricane Tomas poses new threats to the island's inhabitants and those helping with earthquake relief.

Please Pray For Haitian People and Relief Workers

Starting with the 7.0 earthquake that hit January 12th, this small nation (still in the midst of recovery from that disaster) is now dealing with a cholera outbreak, while Hurricane Tomas hits this very morning. For the Haitians living in temporary housing, any storm is potentially life threatening. In the case of a hurricane, loss of property and life is almost a certainty.

Rapid Response Team Director Jack Munday said, “Early this morning, our chaplains with the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team have reported strong winds and heavy rain in Haiti. In working alongside of Samaritan’s Purse, they chose to remain in Haiti during the storm to be immediately available to provide help and assistance for yet another wave of devastation to Haitian people.”

Please join us in praying for the people of Haiti as they face this newest natural disaster. They are a resilient and hopeful culture, but they need all the support and love we can give them. Pray for protection and God’s hand to move on their behalf as Tomas nears. Pray too for the BGEA and Samaritan’s Purse staff who are on the ground stationed in Haiti, helping with relief efforts from the earthquake. Lift up in prayer the many other missionaries and relief organizations who are working there as well.
