'We Will Never Water Down the Gospel'

A Letter From Franklin Graham

August 18, 2010 - Hundreds of young people in Fraser Valley responded, turning the daylong rain into a downpour of grace.

'We Will Never Water Down the Gospel'

At BGEA, we never have and never will water down the Gospel. We relentlessly and boldly preach the message of the cross of Jesus Christ, His death, burial, and resurrection.

'We Will Never Water Down the Gospel'

As I stood outdoors under a wet sky a couple of weekends ago, proclaiming the Gospel to thousands of young people who gathered—in spite of the rain—in Canada’s Fraser Valley near Vancouver, I couldn’t help but think how fitting an occasion this was to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA).

Jesus told His disciples, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19, NKJV). Fishermen attract fish with bait, and we used music to draw the young people, but we were there to preach the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Christian bands popular with teens played all during the afternoon and evening in a festive, open-air setting. Young people came to hear the music and to my surprise, stayed for hours in the pouring rain. Every hour and a half, I would get up and preach.

Over a period of seven hours I preached three different times about God’s gift of eternal life through repentance and faith in Christ, and I gave four invitations. With every invitation, I shared the Gospel that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died on the cross, shedding His life’s blood for our sin, and who God raised to life.

As the Holy Spirit worked, young adults and teenagers responded each time, praying to receive Christ as Savior and Lord—just as the Holy Spirit has stirred a response in thousands upon thousands of lives throughout BGEA’s years of worldwide ministry. It made me so grateful to know that God is still using and blessing the same work that He has called us to for decades—the preaching of His Gospel.

When an aging Paul wrote the last of his inspired letters shortly before he was martyred in Rome, he used powerful words to remind his young protégé Timothy of the priority of his ministry: “I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ … preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. … Do the work of an evangelist” (2 Timothy 4:1–2, 5).

Our society has become so secularized today. Some churches feel like they have to adapt to the culture, but by doing so they can shy away from clearly presenting the Gospel, as though ashamed to talk about Jesus Christ who died to save us from our sins. They may feel that the Gospel sounds too radical for the culture—but it is radical. “The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18).

At BGEA, we never have and never will water down the Gospel. We relentlessly and boldly preach the message of the cross of Jesus Christ, His death, burial, and resurrection.

Today’s culture has almost inoculated our society—especially our youth—against an awareness of sin. Our society is exposed to so much ungodliness and iniquity that it hardly even shames us any more. For that reason, we are engaged in a battle for the hearts and souls of a new generation. Many in the crowds of young people gathered at the Rock the River event in Fraser Valley outside Vancouver knew little or nothing about Jesus. But as God’s Gospel was proclaimed, the Holy Spirit worked to convict hundreds of their sin, making them aware of their separation from God and pointing them to the redemption found through faith in Jesus Christ.

When I gave the invitation, I simply told them, “If you have never asked God to forgive you of your sins and have never by faith invited His Son Jesus Christ into your life, do it right now. By coming forward, you are saying to God, ‘I am a sinner, I believe Jesus Christ is your Son who died on the cross and was raised to life, and I want Him to take control of my life.’”

Many responded. Pray for these young people and the many others whose lives are being changed by the power of the Gospel this summer. Pastors from the Fraser Valley area told me that one of the things they appreciated most was the training for evangelism we provided ahead of time. Some pastors called the results of the outreach a miracle, and many thanked us for coming. As I write, we have two more Rock the River evangelistic events in the next few weeks in Alberta, Canada—one in Calgary and one in Edmonton.

Later this fall I will take the BGEA team to Osaka, Japan, for a Crusade. The Japanese people have the highest life expectancy in the world, but only 2 percent are ready for eternity. So very many need to hear the truth of Jesus Christ, and we feel a great urgency to reach them with the Gospel.

After Osaka, we will hold a Crusade in Latvia, a small nation on the Baltic Sea in Eastern Europe that was formerly under Russian domination during the Cold War. This is Latvia’s first large-scale evangelistic outreach since it gained independence. Pray that many will hear and respond to the lasting hope found in Jesus Christ. We need your prayers for our team and especially for myself as I stand before men and women to share the Gospel.

As we celebrate BGEA’s 60th anniversary this month, how grateful I am that my father is still with us, along with Bev Shea and Cliff Barrows. This anniversary is also an occasion to remember the wonderful team and staff God has called over the years to assist my father and me in the preaching of the Gospel.

Approaching age 92, my father has a strong desire to preach one more time and is working hard to build his strength. Because of failing sight, he cannot see sermon notes or read the Scripture, and his hearing is poor, but his mind is sharp. Pray with us about this.

Thank you for your gracious support of this evangelistic ministry. My father and I greatly appreciate your partnership in the Gospel. Please remember us in prayer. We also need your financial support, if you are able to help, because God has given us enormous opportunities in the weeks and months ahead.

May God richly bless you in all the ways you serve Him,

Franklin Graham

Thank God, you continue to be bold and are not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation. My brother, Charles, who just turned 62 (young) came to know the Lord through the film "The Restless Ones" before he was a helicopter pilot in Viet Nam. He is still going strong. Yes, I am proud that Billy, mom Ruth, Franklin and all of your siblings continue to be faithful. Yet, we shall continue to keep our eyes on the author and finisher of our faith, The Lord Jesus Christ. Please pray for my son Daniel, who was falsely accused by a corrupt police officer, when he went to pay a speeding ticket. the cop attacked, but accused Daniel. We are praying that the tape has been spared. May God's protection prevail. This officer has lied before. Yes, we pray for him too, but we desire protection for our son, who desires to serve the Lord. Keep on being faithful, all of you. we love u

Billy and Franklin, Please pray for our city of Charlotte. We are heading into another election day in November and I pray that the people will elect officials that will restore the integrity in our local government. Over the past years our government has become corrupt and forgotten the constitution that so many people have fought and died for. Thanks for your commitment to our country and the young people.

I pray that Billy preaches again and even more when he can. I pray that Billy will be here alive and well when Jesus returns, to go up in the rpature because if anyone deserves to be here and see our Lords return, it is Billy. Billy is our modern day Moses, He is loved by every denomination, he is a big part of our hearts and memories, he is loved and respected and the most godly human I ever knew. God Bless Billy, you are loved by multi millions everywhere, we would LOVE to hear you again.

Cathy says 9.1.2010, 6:41 p.m.

I feel so blessed to be living in a time when Billy Graham preached the Gospel so mightily. I think he is the Moses for the 20th and 21st centuries. I first heard Billy Graham preach at the First Baptist Church of Dallas when I was 15 - I'm 77 now. My mother and I had to sit in the basement as there was an overflow crowd, but I saw Rev. Graham's shadow as he ascended the stairway and thought he looked like an avenging angel with his sharp profile and flowing cape. It is wonderful that God is using you, Franklin, to continue spreading the Gospel in a mighty way. May God continue to bless you and your ministry.

cheri says 9.1.2010, 3:15 p.m.

Thank you, God, for the love and power of Billy Graham, who started this awesome ministry so many years ago with little more than his and Ruth's faith and a desire to follow God's will. Please keep us posted as to where, when and how Billy delivers one more message about the love of God. I know God will provide a way. May His blessings be on the ministry as it continues to carry on his life work.

Edwin says 9.1.2010, 1:03 p.m.

I've never been to a Blly Gragam crusade, but I've seen him on T.V. And I pray that GOD bless him for 1 more power sermon. I gave my life to the Lord Jesus on Aug 22, 1992. I'll be 55 this Oct 20 and It's from sermon like BGEA that the Holy Spirit led me to confess my sin and ask Jesus into my life. And I remember when the Lord took his wonderful wife home. May GOD bless use and your staff always.

Jane says 9.1.2010, 08:56 a.m.

Praying for you and your Team. Also, I am praying for your Dad to have his heart's desire to preach one more time. I heard him preach at Ridgecrest when I was a teenager. I am 74 now. Prayers

Lester says 9.1.2010, 06:55 a.m.

I turned from sin to Christ in the Billy Graham crusade in Portland OR, around 1951. I was religous but bored with religion. The first change that took place in my life was that God gave me a great love for the word of God. I too now have been preaching for over fifty years. I Praise God for you faithfulness in serving Him.

Carolyn says 8.31.2010, 10:59 a.m.

Week before last, I had a dear friend of mine tell me that God used a BEGA crusade to save her. At the time, we were listening to an Anne Graham Lotz teaching tapes from The Cove. God is blessing us through many avenues of the Graham family. Honor and Glory to our Lord, Jesus.

Reba says 8.31.2010, 10:43 a.m.

I welcomed Jesus into my life when I was 10. I am now 70. Billy Graham has always been someone I looked up to. God gave him these years for a reason---HE is Jehovah Jireh, our Jehovah Rapha. BGEA is a blessing..

Patty says 8.31.2010, 10:20 a.m.

Thank you for following in your father's footstep and preaching so boldly.I am a Minister to Families and for the past three years I have sensed God calling me to be bold - yet I haven't stepped up in faith to do it. Thank you for your encouragement. If God has asked me to do it - HE will give me the words and strength to follow through. Keep preaching boldly!

Elizabeth says 8.31.2010, 05:09 a.m.

Praise the Lord. I wish you could see how happy I am to hear that dad is still zealous 4 the Lord. I am 33 and have told the Heavenly Father not tn take dad before I speak to him face to face. Am delighted and I sincerely pray 4 him and the entire family. I have a vision collection to and for the world. Be blessed as you swirl in Christ love and preach the Gospel.

Butch says 8.31.2010, 01:53 a.m.

I Praise God for the BGEA, And all you do Franklin. I will continue to pray for the BGEA and for Your Father to be able to come out and Preach the Gospel one more time. May the Lord continue to Bless Billy, Franklin, and the whole staff at the BGEA. God Bless and Love to you all Thank you <.

May says 8.31.2010, 01:50 a.m.

I have loved Billy Graham since the '50's and have supported all he has done ever since. He is the most beloved man on earth. His ministry is absolutely wonderful and I so look forward to meeting him when we are in heaven. He is truly a man of God. How great to have a son who can carry on His work. Franklin, you are a true blessing.

Ruth says 8.31.2010, 00:10 a.m.

I will pray for your Dad, Franklin. I wish I could hear what he has to say one last time! Your Father is special for many reasons, but the one that touches my heart is a personal one. My Father was ill and hospitalized at the Mayo Clinic. He was taken to the Xray Dept. in a wheel chair. While he was waiting your Dad came there as well in a wheel chair, and was moved to pray for my Dad. Though my Dad has gone on to be with the Lord, that chance meeting with your Dad did many things in his heart. I will be forever grateful for your Dad's faithfulness and compassion. Please give him my greetings and love in Jesus!

Helen says 8.30.2010, 10:13 p.m.

Thank you so much for your outreach to our youth. So many times we tend to forget that our children are our future. The precious word of our Lord given to them now is so important, hopefully all parents will reach out also to teach their children how to live and trust in our Heavenly Father for the joy and His promise of life everlasting. May God bless your ministry. Praise GOD from whom ALL blessings flow!

DEBRA says 8.30.2010, 10:00 p.m.

DEAR PASTOR FRANKLIN,I WAS SO PLEASED WITH THE STAND THAT YOU TOOK TOWARDS WORLD DAY OF PRAYER AND WHAT THE TRUE MEANING IS OF ISLAM. THEY ARE NOT ASHAMED OF WHAT THEY BELIEVE, SO WHY SHOULD THE PEOPLE OF GOD BE ASHAMED, THE LORD SAID IF YOU BE ASHAMED OF ME, I WILL BE ASHAMED OF YOU!! PLEASE THE LORD!!!

Ruth says 8.30.2010, 9:51 p.m.

My prayer is that God grants Dr. Billy the desire of his heart, to preach one more time. Remember with God all things are possible. We read in Scripture of Elijah outrunning the king's chariot and Elijah was no teenager! Sarah birthed a child past 80 so God can certainly anoint Billy to preach one more time for the Glory of God! Amen! God bless this ministry in powerful ways beyond your imagination and hope, for you serve the God of all gods Who rains down fire from Heaven!!

Bill says 8.30.2010, 9:42 p.m.

In 1982 while reading Billy Graham's book "World Aflame" I got to the section of the book subtitled "The Cross of Christ" and was convicted of my need for a Savior. I accepted Jesus as my Savior that very night. I have witnessed His forgiveness and help ever since then.Praise the Lord and thank you Billy Graham!

gary says 8.30.2010, 9:10 p.m.

Thank you so much for you and your father's ministry. BGEA has been a blessing to my family over the years. My blessed mother Marie contributed and supported your ministry most of her life. I can remember her putting her checks in an envelope and sending them regularly throughout her life. I am attending church today because of your impact on her life. may God continue to bless and keep BGEA.

Rita says 8.30.2010, 9:00 p.m.

You are a present day Elisha; You have caught the Mantle; God will pour out a double portion. He always has a Remnant. BE BOUNTIFULLY BLESSED AS THE BGEA CONTINUES THROUGH THE ENSUING Years. Elijah(your dad), will preach as he desires; It may be videoed for the audiences.

Susan says 8.30.2010, 7:39 p.m.

I praise God for the work He has done through the Billy Graham ministry over the years. Thank you Reverend Billy and Pastor Franklin and all your staff and workers for your unselfish efforts on behalf of our Lord. I pray for you daily and would be thrilled if it is the will of God that Reverend Billy preach again. You are loved by so many.

Dorothy says 8.30.2010, 7:27 p.m.

I love you Billy Graham.... and I believe the Lord will once again give you the strength that you need to preach His Gospel... I pray also, that I will be able to attend that crusade, and that more people than in the history of any single Billy Graham Crusade will give their lives to Jesus Christ as a result of his sharing his love, faith dedication and devotion God.

Peggy says 8.30.2010, 6:43 p.m.

One thing that I so admire about you,Franklin Graham, is that any time you are interviewed or appear on any TV show, no matter what the topic is, you ALWAYS present the gospel of Jesus Christ in a simple, easy to understand manner, just as your father did. You don't wait for an opportunity to share the gospel, you make every occasion an opportunity to share the gospel. May we learn from you.

Sandy says 8.30.2010, 6:10 p.m.

I was just a little girl when I first heard Billy's TV message, and even though I was too young to understand, I loved Jesus in my heart right then. I have since been a Christian for as long as I can remember, and always watch Billy on TV; have attended many of his Crusades; sang in three of Billy's crusades, and have been blessed to attend two three-day sessions at the Cove. I have since begun leaving Billy's tracks with the tip at every restaurant I go to. I will also be sending tracks to my unsaved friends in their Christmas cards. I'm and old-fashioned Baptist and I feel like you are all family to me. May God bless you and your work bountifly, and grant Billy's prayer to preach once more. I just wish I could be there when Jesus greets Billy in Heaven some day! What a greeting that will be - the angels will sing with the saints. God bless you all - I love you all so very much!

Mary says 8.30.2010, 5:18 p.m.

I attended one crusade in St Louis, watched crusades for many years with my family on TV and now watch Billy Graham Classic reruns on TBN. Am able to contribute occasionally. Appreciate Billy and Franklin always lifting Christ up when interviewed or preaching. (Let's reach this next generation for Christ) Congratulations on 60 years of being faithful to God's call.

Richard says 8.30.2010, 4:56 p.m.

I am praying for BGEA and for Billy to not only preach one more time but 3 more times and that we all get to see the soon coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!

Barbara says 8.30.2010, 4:46 p.m.

Thanks for preaching the Gospel in all its truth. I pray for strength for Billy Graham to preach one or more times as God chooses. The Gospel is the only message that can set people free from their sins.

kathy says 8.30.2010, 4:43 p.m.

I am 55 years old and until about 15 years ago, was not familiar with Billy Graham. After seeing his old crusades on TV, I began recording them and cannot tell you how many times I have watched and re-watched them (even taking notes). I am still amazed how his messages even from 1957 are so relative for today. What makes a great preacher is 1) His love for Jesus Christ, 2) His boldness of faith in speaking the truth, and 3) His love for reaching lost people for Christ. No gimmicks, just truth. I saw all the posts here regarding seeing Billy preach again and I agree. Take heart, because there is nothing he didn't cover in all his sermons broadcast on television. He is still reaching people for Christ, believe me! I know that even if I never meet Billy here on earth, I will certainly see my brother in heaven as we praise the Lord together, part of one enormous family! This life is just a glimpse: so preach boldy! and thank you Franklin that you are already doing so. I pray every day for you and your family and the wonderful truth you are pouring out faithfully even in this broken culture in order to reach others for Christ. God bless you.

Greville says 8.30.2010, 3:26 p.m.

Hi Franklin: Greeting sin the blessed name of Jesus Christ. I have confidence that the Almighty WILL continue to bless the BGEA. But I will like, however, to challenge you: Would you like to partner with, and probably lead a World Amalgam of Matthew 28:18-20 Great Commisssion evangelists? I have a vision for this and would very much like to share it withthe BGEA. This vision began to form in Greensboro, NC, where I attended a church assembly in July, after my wife and I visited the Billy Graham Library and read the epitaph on your mother's tomb: "End of construction." I do not have a lot of money, but these visions come to me all the time. I share your observation about the mass acculturization of youth everywhere with evil carnality. I will continue to pray for your 60-year old mission. May Almighty God continue to bless you all greatly.Greville

Barbara says 8.30.2010, 2:48 p.m.

May God continue to bless Billy and Franklin Graham, their families, and all the team as they continue to proclaim the complete Word of God. I watched the crusades as a child in my parents' living room and never tired of hearing the Old, Old Story of Jesus and His love!

Martha says 8.30.2010, 2:36 p.m.

Thank God for you, your dad and your entire family, Pastor Franklin. Speaking for a lot of us in the world today, you are an encourager. I have five sons. I pray that their lives would be of service to God our creator. Keep serving God, brother. He will surely reward you.

Gregory says 8.30.2010, 2:31 p.m.

Because I was unable to attend some of Billy Graham's previous crusades, I do wish I could see him in person somewhere. However, it feels selfish to ask for such a difficult sacrifice from him. Billy Graham has served the Lord well for a very long time, and he deserves the rest that he has been getting since his last preaching engagement. If the Lord wills that he should preach again, then I will try to be there, but I would not request that such a burden be placed on our brother.

JANIS says 8.30.2010, 2:26 p.m.

Janis here, Thanks be to God for the Rev Billy Graham and his life long work to lead lost souls to the kingdom of God. I have been blessed to attend his Crusade in Ohio many years ago. Also to be able to watch him on television over the years. My prayers are to you Franklin as you continue to carry on with your Father's legacy. God richly Bless you and your family. Janis

Marian Rachel says 8.30.2010, 1:26 p.m.

Thank God that you and all the BGEA are dedicated to following God's leadership rather than the voices of poliiticans and media who are following the folly of Satan and his infuences. Keep up your Godly work and I will keep praying for you and supporting you financially as much as possible.

Franklin thank you for continuiing the ministry. I am a born again Christian saved by the grace of GOD and the teachings of the HOLY BIBLE. My faith each day is tested by the world and the message to try me where circumstances are huge and only MY GOD will work through me. I understand the hurts of Christian people and I am so glad ya'll are here and strong. WE NEED THE LORD!!! GOD Bless You and Reverend Billy!

Debbie says 8.30.2010, 12:52 a.m.

My grandfather, a father of 11 children, would gather us all together every time Billy Graham, you father, would be on the television. The entire family would huddle around the TV together and listen to his crusades. I have always held you all in prayer and with great respect and admiration for your tireless and so successful efforts for the Kingdom of God. You both have so many lives you have blessed with the truth of Jesus Christ that you will be greeted with delight by so many Saints it will take you years to get through the line of people! May God richly bless each of your Crusades with all you need and with the full Harvest He has prepared for you. You and your family are loved by me and my family.

John says 8.30.2010, 12:45 a.m.

Rev. F. Graham keep preaching the Word of God. The un-watered down word of God. Keep preaching the full gospel. Nothing else will save us.

Verna says 8.30.2010, 12:34 a.m.

Perhaps because I am in the winter of my life, I would so love to hear Billy preach one more time. I know he will seek God's will, as he has all his life and we can be sure if God blesses him to preach, all who hear will be equally blessed by his words. God will speak through him to all of us who will listen. What a wonderful time it would be for people of all ages.

Tracy says 8.30.2010, 12:29 a.m.

Dottie says 8.30.2010, 12:07 a.m.

I grew up in Billy Graham Country. My Mom took us to hear the gospel in Spindale, NC. We went to tent meetings when they were available. I gave my heart to God when I was 13 years old. This has given me a path to follow Christ. He instilled the Holy Spirit to guide me. God Bless your ministry!

Becky says 8.30.2010, 12:06 a.m.

I am praying for you. My eyes fill with tears as I watch your video about never backing down from preaching the true word of GOD. As these times worsen, and we may see in our lifetimes, that this will be outlawed...I pray for you and all of his children to get their strength from the Lord to 'endure til the end'. I thank God for your family.

Rebecca says 8.30.2010, 11:58 a.m.

I have loved Billy Graham and his ministry all my life. My mom went down front at a Crusade in 1949 in Memphis, Tenn. and raised me watching on the Crusades on T.V. Congratulations on 60 Years! But I have to say what is in my heart, that Mr. Graham's dynamic delivery was very crucial to his message. Any sign of physical weakness on his part, might lead unbelievers to say he isn't as good as he used to be, and that might reflect on his message also. Perhaps we should keep the memory of how he was.

Chrystal says 8.30.2010, 11:53 a.m.

Bless you, we will be in prayer both for Rev. Graham to preach from memory, and for your future crusades......that they may reach to the ends of the earth, and many will come to know Christ.

Pam says 8.30.2010, 11:41 a.m.

I am 63. I praise the Lord for Billy Graham and the entire association. I appreciate the fact that you speak the truth and do not "water down" the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I believe our own country needs more prayer right now than any other. I believe we are no longer a democracy, and the worst is yet to come. It is all in God's Hands.

Carol says 8.30.2010, 11:31 a.m.

May God continue to bless you and your precious father as you continue to bring the hope of our ETERNAL LIFE to a hurting world. What a blessed anointing you both have.

Erin says 8.30.2010, 11:28 a.m.

When I was 14 years old watching Billy Graham on TV, this was 38 years ago, I asked my parents is sin real? Is hell real? None of us can remember their answer, but within four years I was attending a different church where the Bible was taught, in Bible study where I was learning sin is real and asking Jesus to be my Savior. God was listening to my questions and He answered them. Thank you Reverend Graham. Your in my prayers that you can preach again.

John says 8.30.2010, 11:27 a.m.

Blessings on all the folks that make BGEA the effective organization it is. Thank you for many years of service that have brought many to accept Christ as Savior.

Don says 8.30.2010, 11:06 a.m.

My life has been blessed by the BGEA since I was 17. I spent 5 hrs at the Library in Charlotte, NC. Everyone must go and see!

Jess says 8.30.2010, 10:59 a.m.

Frankllin recently preached at the !st.Baptist Church in Woodstock GA. His heart for the lost and their physical and spiritual needs was evident. I pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to use him and the entire BGEA to reach the lost of this world.

NANCY says 8.30.2010, 10:55 a.m.

I READ THIS ARTICLE WITH TEARS OF JOY! I AM COMMITTED TO YOUR MINISTRY IN PRAYER AND WITH FINANCIAL GIFTS AS I AM ABLE. I AM ALWAYS THRILLED WHEN I HAVE SOMETHING TO GIVE TO YOUR MINISTRY. I AM DISABLED AND LIVE ON $703 A MONTH, SO I AM NOT ABLE TO DONATE OFTEN, BUT IF I CAN DO IT, ANYONE CAN!! I WOULD LIKE TO ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO DONATE, GOD BLESSES ME EVERY TIME WITH UNSPEAKABLE JOY!! I AM ON A SPIRITUAL "HIGH" EACH TIME I AM ABLE TO MAKE A DONATION.

Ouida says 8.30.2010, 10:52 a.m.

I thank God for Billy Graham Ministries. I've listened to Billy Graham all of my life. He is truely a servant of God. I pray he gets to preach one more time. What a blessing that would be. May God bless all of you. You are all in my Prayers.

Melanie says 8.30.2010, 10:45 a.m.

I used a Billy Graham "track" to bring my mom to the Lord in the hospital 3 days before she entered Etenity. I was a fairly new born again believer and it was one of those times that I just knew time was short and it was my responsibility to bring her to the foot of the cross. We are all called to be fishers of men whether ona large scale or a hospital room. Thank you Billy and Franklin for ALL the years of preaching TRUTH. I loved the book "Rebel With A Cause" ....I feel like I personally know you both!! May the Lord speak thru Billy at least one more time...what a Crusade that will be!!

Marcella says 8.30.2010, 10:43 a.m.

I just prayed for the Lord's will for your father, Billy Graham, to be able to preach one more time. I accepted the Lord at his Fresno, Calif. crusade in 2001. One cannot say enough about the faithfulness and guidance of your father, and I thank God for your service also, Franklin. May you live as long and have as fruitful a ministry as your father.

Javier says 8.30.2010, 10:29 a.m.

I got saved watching Billy Graham on tv and God changed my life instantly for good. I hope Mr Graham gets to preach one more time, he holds a special place in my heart. And I pray that Frankling Graham will continue to have the boldness that he's displayed so far, and never retreat from doing what God called him to do. God bless him!

Dwight says 8.30.2010, 10:09 a.m.

Thank you Franklin for not watering down the Gospel of Jesus Christ and for standing for the truth. I pray we will all do the same in our sphere of influence.

Jan says 8.30.2010, 10:08 a.m.

Now, about you...weren't you considered a rebel when you were a young kid like me~~~back in the "olden" days? LOL! I'm glad we finallly woke up and smelled the roses and we now walk the talk!

Noni says 8.30.2010, 10:07 a.m.

I was blessed to live in Minnesota which was the location of the BGEA for so many years. I remember babysitting so that some women could have a prayer meeting for the crusade that was held here back in the 50's. Then later I was trained as a counselor. What an experience!! I think Billy is a present day hero in the secular as well as the Christian world! But I know he would answer that he wants Christ to be glorified, and rightly so. Thanks so much to all of you in the Graham and Bell family for being a steadfast witness to the world. My prayers go out to you, Franklin, as you preach to the young people around the world. They are the future!

ian says 8.30.2010, 09:51 a.m.

Dear Reverend Billy and Franklin Graham, Thank you for your ministry--what a blessing you both are. May the abundant grace of God continue to abound worldwide through BGEA. What a PRAISE in the earth!!! I just prayed for you Rev. Billy that the Spirit of the Lord would quicken/strengthen your body with power and might and that your desire to preach another message be fulfilled to the saving grace of multitudes above and beyond measure. May God continue to advance His kingdom through you and your son, Rev. Franklin that He alone may be glorified.

Gerri says 8.30.2010, 09:40 a.m.

I'm praying for Billy to be able to preach one more time as I know he wants to do. May God give him the strength he needs and lead him to know where he needs to preach the most. God bless all of you for all you have done and all you still do.

Rachel says 8.30.2010, 09:20 a.m.

It is so encouraging to hear that the youth has responded. I wish and pray that many may be saved. We need to pray for our nation which is rejecting Jesus. I wish and pray that BGEA will work in the United States and bring people back to God. All the best and pray for many souls to be saved. May God bless you.

Patricia - Grosse Ile, MI says 8.30.2010, 09:17 a.m.

What a wonderful treasure of memories that my husband and I have after following the Billy Graham ministry for decades. We have been privileged to attend three of the crusades. If Dr. Graham would like to preach one more time, then it is our prayer that his desire can be fulfilled. I know he has plans to wear the new suit again when he changes his address to his eternal home where he will join his beloved Ruth. May God richly bless all of you.

Sandey from South Africa says 8.30.2010, 09:16 a.m.

What a man of God is Dr Billy Graham, and Rev Franklin Graham is folllowing in his dad's footsteps, like Timothy did with Paul... I pray that Billy Graham will be able to deliver a message soon... he knows the Word by heart, and certainly doesn't need notes to preach - just dont forget your theme hymn... 'Just as I am'... Blessings

Patricia says 8.30.2010, 09:13 a.m.

Praise the Lord for BIlly Graham. May the Lord continue to bless all of the Graham family. You have been an inspiration to many. May the Word of God go forth until Jesus returns again and may America remember it's roots that were in God's word.

Martha says 8.30.2010, 09:10 a.m.

Thank God for dedicated people like you and the whole Graham family. The world needs to hear the Word Of God proclaimed now more than ever. There are so many trying to remove God from our lives, we know this can never happen, but it makes for a miserable life for Christians. You and the BGEA are in my prayers.

julia says 8.30.2010, 09:10 a.m.

I am so glad to here that your dad is still doing well when I was young I heard him for the first time when I was babysitting, he inspired me in faith. I am glad to here you are taking on the same machine and getting the word about the gospel out there to the young and bring everyone Jesus Christ. God Bless you, my prayers are with you and your families that are helping you spread Jesus Christ to the world.

william says 8.30.2010, 09:02 a.m.

I am 65 y/o. I was led to Christ by B.G. at 15. I didn't understand it then. I walked in ignorancce until 42 when I was born again. My walk is still not on solid ground, please pray for me.

Bonnie says 8.30.2010, 08:54 a.m.

Prayers that Billy will fulfill his desire and calling to preach one more message, if God so wills it. Happy 60th birthday of the minisitry. I made a decision after the film For Pete's Sake. We have been to the Cove for Rx for Renewal. Prayers for health of the seniors.

Del says 8.30.2010, 07:42 a.m.

I have had the privilage of meeting the senior Billy Graham in New York during the Worlds Fair in 1964 and a crusade in Columbus, Ohio in the late 60's. He has always been an influence in my life of 80 years. During lay speaking in the United Methodist Church, I used his books and sermons as a guide. I prayer that his son will continue the legacy of his father for many years.

I'm a young Pastor who desire much to be use by God in His great way to save. I haven't seen great evangelists like Grahams' in my few years of serving God. I didn't see him in person but his life really changed many in the world... in my prayer I pray that God may raise up again new Elijah's, John the baptist, Grahams... here. May I'll be one of them.

Brad says 8.22.2010, 9:52 p.m.

Watching Franklin Graham stand strong in the face of these recent attacks gives me courage to do the same. In these times of trouble, we Christians can expect to face any number of attacks and I for one will stand strong, proclaim my faith in Christ no matter what the price, and with The Lord's help, I will do it with love.

Dottie says 8.22.2010, 2:45 p.m.

My prayers are with Samaritan's Purse and the BGEA ministry. I am amazed each time I view the work that God has graciously blessed. May God Bless "This Ministry."

Joyce says 8.21.2010, 3:46 p.m.

I thank God each day for the wonderful influence of your father, Billy Graham. Had it not been for his radio programs I listened to as a young person, I wonder if I would be a Christian today. Thank God for your family and your continued commitment to "not watering down the Truth of God.

carol says 8.21.2010, 11:49 a.m.

More men as well as women need to give their lives to Christ all over the world. i AM A licensed minister with the Southern Baptist Convention but presently attend and am a member of Floris United Methodist Church in Herndon, Virginia.I've been suggesting that the pastor, Tom Berlin, give an invitation toward the end of each service.

Just wondering.... says 8.21.2010, 09:38 a.m.

I live in Maine and the closest that you could get to us would be Mass. With that said it would be wonderful if you could see it in your travels to come to Aroostook County, Maine. We could use a boost from BGEA. It would be wonderful to team with you along with the churches of the area to bring Christ to the hurt and needy. The biggest place I can think that would hold so many people would be Loring Air Force Base, which is now closed..but still is open to concerts.Would you consider coming here to preach? The FISH concert was able to hold over 80,000 people at that location. It would be outdoors but a wonderful opportunity to have you come. Nance G.

Granny says 8.20.2010, 10:07 p.m.

Praise God for His plan and for His All-Knowing Power! Just think! The Word is reaching ALL THE WORLD! Now, in this very point in time...throughout all time...NOW. What a priviledge to be part of end-time Prophecy. Let's keep praying for BGEA and for Samaritan's Purse, for The Cove Seminars, for the thousands of missionaries throughout America and the world who are reaching lost souls. for churches packing those shoe boxes, for a special blessing poured out on Rev. Billy Graham and his family and staff. Praise God for His Son, His Love, His Hope, His Salvation!

Dr. Bob says 8.20.2010, 9:46 p.m.

I have followed the careers of several religious leaders throughout my 75 years of life. Dr. Billy Graham is one man about whom I have heard no criticism as far as his message, his life, and his commitment to God is concerned. This is a miracle within itself in present day world.

JoAnn says 8.20.2010, 8:00 p.m.

Hallalijah Billy, Franklin and BGEA that you preach the Gospel of our Lord without watering it down!! You follow the commandments of our Dear Lord and His word shall not return void but will reap His harvest. Yes, there is Power in the blood!! My heart leaps out to God and to you and may you be enabled at all times with His wonder working power!!

Bonnie says 8.20.2010, 7:08 p.m.

I am so glad to hear Fanklyn speak about standing against evil. We christians need to stop sitting on our butts and watching evil distroy our nation. We have the most high God, the most powerful and the only true God and yet we act as if we are weak and powerless. I will always pray for the BGEA to reach as many souls as possible. We need all to stand up against the evil that is loose in our world. Never give up, never give up, no, no, no, never give up. I pray that God will give His beloved servant Billy Graham enought strength to speak to us one more time. God's hand is clearly on you Franklin. God Bless you alll

Bryan says 8.20.2010, 5:23 p.m.

Dear Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, It is great to see the Gospel preached more and more. But we are in a time where things are getting worse everyday. I am so glad that Franklin is carrying on what his father started. We need more people to help preach the Gospel, and to bring more people to Christ. I am a very big fan of Billy and Franklin Graham, and I enjoy watching them on tv. But what we need now more than ever is to win souls for CHRIST, and to DEFEAT the devil and all that he throws at us.

Cathy says 8.20.2010, 2:58 p.m.

PTL for your family's commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Billy, Franklin, Anne, Will and your beloved Ruth are so encouraging to me in this journey of faith. You are in the prayers of many saints; keep us in yours. The Lord has heard your/our call and is showing you/us great and mighty things we knew not.Thank you, Lord!
