My Answer

Many years ago, I was in the Army fighting in a very dangerous place, and I told God that I would never bother Him again if He only got me out of there alive. Well, He did, and I've kept that promise all these years, but did I make a mistake by making it? — J.K.

Let me ask you a question: Did you ever stop to thank God for saving your life? If so, you've already broken your promise not to bother Him - but if you didn't thank Him, don't you think you should have? Of course, I'm sure you were sincere, but your real mistake was in thinking that God wasn't concerned about you, and that you were somehow irritating Him or making Him angry by asking Him to save you. But God isn't like that - not at all! God loves you, and He cares what happens to every one of us.

He cares for you so much that He sent His only Son into the world to sacrifice His life for you. Every detail of your life is important to Him! Jesus said, "Even the very hairs of your head are all numbered (by God)" (Matthew 10:30).

Don't keep away from God any longer. You need Him; you need His presence and wisdom right now, and you need His forgiveness and hope for the future. Some day you will die and stand before God - but without Christ, you won't be ready for that day.

Just as God saved your life decades ago, so He wants to save you now - for eternity. The Bible says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Open your heart to Christ and commit your life to Him today.
