A Declaration of Revolution
October 1, 2002 - More than 200 high-school student evangelists and their adult leaders spent the first week of July at the Billy Graham Training Center, near Asheville, North Carolina. They were trained in implementing an evangelistic strategy that could transform the world. During that week of intensive training, the students on July 4 signed A Declaration of Revolution:
by Young Evangelists
"We, the undersigned, do hereby declare a spiritual revolution through God's grace and for the advancement of His Kingdom. We, the next generation of spiritual warriors, are choosing a lifestyle of holiness, not hedonism; righteousness, not rebellion; dedication, not depravity; selflessness, not selfishness. For the glory of the name of Jesus Christ, we choose to count the cost and lose our lives as we die daily to the depraved desires that rage within our adolescent souls. This we do through the power of God's Spirit who surges through our hearts as an unstoppable force of spiritual transformation.
"Our mission is the evangelization of the world. Our method is the E-team strategy. Our message is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We will wield it as our weapon of choice as we cut into the heart of the enemy of our souls while robbing him of those he has held captive for these many years.
"Through God's Word, we will navigate the dangerous battlefields that lie ahead of us. Through God's protection, we will stay safe from the attacks of the evil one. Through God's power, we will prevail in this quest. Through God's Spirit, we won't give up, give in or give way until every man and woman, boy and girl, on this planet is reached with the revolutionary message of hope in the Person of Jesus Christ.
"This we pledge in the presence of our King and promise in the Name above all names."
