What can I do to find relief from my worries?

Mr. Graham has written: "Man has always been beset by worry, and the pressures of modern life have aggravated the problem ... Many of you are filled with a thousand anxieties. Bring them to Jesus Christ by faith ... I am learning in my own life, day by day, to keep my mind centered on Christ, and the worries and anxieties and concerns of the world pass away and nothing but 'perfect peace' is left in the human heart."

Stress, worry, and anxiety come when we do not trust the Lord fully to handle the situation. We are troubled by anxious thoughts of real or anticipated problems when we rely on our own strength and have not learned to cast all our cares upon the Lord. Anxiety chokes out the Word of God in our hearts and keeps us from growing in Christ.

Replace worry with prayer. Thank God in the midst of your problems, and turn them over to Him, as directed in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: "Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." Praising God is a beautiful antidote for anxiety. Memorize and claim these Bible promises when worried or anxious: "So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper, I will not be seized with alarm—I will not fear or dread or be terrified. What can man do to me?" (Hebrews 13:6, Amplified); and, "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs and don't forget to thank him for his answers.

If you do this you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7, TLB).

I just started reading a book authored by Ed Welch called, "Running Scared: Fear, Worry and the God of Rest". I have read some of Ed Welch's other books and they are very good and very centered on God's word. I would recommend this book to anyone (like me) that struggles with fear, anxiety and worry.

I decided to accept JESUS and know HIM more 2 years ago, I always ask Jesus for forgiveness to all my sins and trying my very best to be righteous and make Jesus happy in everything I do, it is written in the bible " if GOD is for us, who can be against us?" I am confused, no matter how much I do good deeds, there are people who wants to destroy me, who want to ruin me, and why are they succeeding? Are they really succeeding?

Praying for comfort for family members who are ill. Praying a brain injury survivor will reach out for help with daily life activities (feeding livestock, eating well, etc), not just goal setting for his job. Praying for a great job, so that I can afford to make meals for hungry families. Prayer for everyone on this board. Praying for the window to open, after the door is closed.

I have a daily prayer that I try to pray. I am discouraged by my current working situation... I work out of town, 150 miles from my wife and son. I have tried and tried to secure a job closer to home to no avail. This prayer keeps me going, even in the face of dispair and failure."Thank you Lord for this day. Thank you for my lilfe, my wife, and especially my son. Thank you for all of the blessings You have given me, and all of my blessings to come."I feel that when we realize how blessed we are, even when it is not perfectily blessed. Things are easier. I am hopeful that my situation changes and gets better, and I wonder what God has in store for me.

My son is 19. He is in his 2nd year of college. He was raised in the church and brought up in a loving Christian family now has seemed to have forgotten a lifetime of what he has learned. He is making terrible choices in life, barely passing his classes at school, and seemingly thinking nothing of wasting thousands of dollars for education. I foot the bill and I'm wondering if I should just stop paying for school. If I do, its likely he won't continue and I'm WORRIED about his future. I pray everyday for him but the worry is overwhelming me. What should I do?

After looking for work for almost a year without success, I just found out that My employment insurance ran out. I was offered a chance to take a course for PC repair, however at the time I could not take it because I was on employment Insurance. I have found out today that I will be covered by Employment Insurance Assistance. This however only covers my basic needs, far less then what I was making when working. It looks like I will have the opportunity however to finally take this course. If this happens, I would able to be a Computer Certified Technician in about 10 months. I know God will take care of me, He has done so every time. It looks like Good things are starting to happen, pray for me, that God will continue to provide me with what I need, and if this opportunity comes available that He be with me through the entire course. Thank you Father for all you have given me, I know leave the rest in your Son's (Jesus Christ) name Amen.

I have a dear friend of mine's daughter who has been in a bad accident and is fighting for her life. She is having little wonderful miracles every day. They have her sedated so her brain can have a chance to heal and have swelling go down. She is on a ventilator. This is a very wonderful spiritual loving family. Mindy is 28 and has a strong faith. I just want a prayer that I can say for them. I have prayed and turned this over to God also.I just need more comforting words to give to them. I hurt so much for them all. Thank you!

Jeremish 29:11 has brought tears to my eyes, and I seem to keep stumbling on that verse, in books, and the bible, and even noticed tonight, that the bookmark I have been using for a long time, has this verse on the back of it! I noticed it and cried! This verse is for me!!! God keeps reminding me of this verse. Its definitely for me! and I hope it encourages anyone else reading this " For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and future." Jeremiah 29:11.I have been under attack of the emeny lately so bad its unreal. but i hold this verse is my spirit and can't help but smile.

I have been having a tough time maintaining employment. It seems like everyone is turning their backs on me when I need help. Is there a certain scripture that I can refer to in a situation like this?
