A compilation of uplifting articles about the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ

April 7, 2012 - As Christians, we may feel complacent come Easter. Yes, we know Jesus died for our sins. Sometimes it takes a different point of view to stir our hearts. At Easter, consider anew the significance of Jesus' death upon the cross and the empty tomb, and find fresh inspiration.

7 Reasons Christ Suffered and Died
"God's purposes for the world in the death of Jesus are unfathomable," writes John Piper in his book, The Passion of Jesus Christ: Fifty Reasons Why He Came to Die. He Is Risen!
Christ has risen from the dead. And because He lives, we who know Him shall live also. In the resurrection, Jesus Christ conquered sin and death; He is alive forever. All over the world, churches are filled with worshipers because there is an empty tomb in Jerusalem.

Proof of the Resurrection
An evidence-based approach to a defense of the Christian faith focuses on historical or scientific facts that support the truth that Jesus Christ is the Son of God—a truth Jesus said would be proven by His resurrection from the grave.

He Is Not Here: He Is Risen
Easter Sunday is the most triumphant day in the calendar of the Christian Church. Yet there is no trace of an Easter celebration, as we know it, anywhere in the New Testament. The celebration of Easter actually began with the early Jewish Christians who continued to celebrate the Passover, regarding Christ as the true Paschal Lamb. The event naturally passed over into a commemoration of the death and Resurrection of our Lord.

The Power of the Cross
When the Apostle Paul went to the great and intellectual Grecian city of Corinth, he said, “I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2). When Paul described what his message was, he said, “We preach Christ crucified” (1 Corinthians 1:23)

The Suffering Savior
Here was the Son of God dying on a cross that was made for the vilest of sinners. His was the act of substitution raised to the highest degree. Jesus Christ was the Lamb of God who had come to take away the sin of the world by His suffering and death. Here was the blood of God poured out in selfless love for a dying, doomed world.

If it wasn't for the resurrection,Jesus would still be the greatest religious leader in human history. His moral values, teaching, public debating, healing and miracles make him a leader without equal. The resurrection means He is my Lord and God.

In recent years, the emphasis from the pulpit seems to have been on the gruesome death of our Savior. Brothers and sisters, please, with your gift of faith, all your heart, soul, strength and mind embrace the empty tomb. HE's alive!

Donna says 4.5.2012, 3:15 p.m.

I believe that Jesus died for for my sins and that He arose again. That one day i will see Him just as He is. Lately, I have been persecuted for my beliefs at work by others who aren't Christians. It felt like I had a knife put through my back.
