Our Great God and Savior Jesus Christ

December 1, 2008

The angel of the Lord announced the birth of Jesus with these words: "Today… a Savior has been born to you" (Luke 2:11, NIV). Jesus Christ is that Savior, because He alone can "save his people from their sins" (Matthew 1:21, NIV). The following articles by Richard Bewes and Anne Graham Lotz examine the birth of our Savior, the reason for His death and resurrection, and the promise of His return. As you read, may you marvel at the love of God who "has sent his Son to be Savior of the world" (1 John 4:14, NIV).

It is God who has graciously provided everything we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3-4). And this is true in pleasant times and difficult times alike, for at every moment our heavenly Father sees us and cares for us (Matthew 10:29-31).

When we glimpse this truth, our hearts should overflow in continual praise and thanks, resulting in a lifestyle of worship. Are we living that kind of life?
