Preparing For Harvest

My Hope World Television Project launched in the Dominican Republic

April 29, 2009 - The My Hope World Television Project launched in the Dominican Republic last week. Approximately 320 pastors, key denominational leaders and parachurch group members formally invited the BGEA to conduct the My Hope project in their country at the largest launch meeting in the history of this project.

Preparing For Harvest

Since October, the BGEA representatives have visited the Dominican Republic to meet with pastors, key denominational leaders and parachurch groups to get a sense if the churches are ready for the My Hope project in their country.

In November, they even brought three of the country’s Christian leaders to the Brazil My Hope broadcasts so they could see the project in action.

As with other launch events, the goal is to explain to a broad number of Christians in the country how the My Hope project works, and give them an opportunity to formally invite BGEA into a partnership with them to advance the Gospel through My Hope.

Last week’s meeting attendees saw a presentation and heard testimonies of friends and colleagues that attended the My Hope Brazil broadcasts.

BGEA has a target of March 2010 to broadcast My Hope programs into thousands of Dominican homes, where friendship evangelism will take place. Massive organizational, promotional and training activities will take place from now until then.

The Dominican Republic is one of the last Latin American regions to conduct the My Hope project. To date, My Hope has been greatly blessed by God in 17 Latin American nations, with over 3 million decisions for Christ in the continent.

“Over the past 15 years, God has done some powerful things in the Dominican churches. He has given them a great burden for the lost, and a great vision for the Kingdom of God,” said Greg Matthews, My Hope Regional Manager – Latin America.

“This is a next step in realizing that vision. People here are very encouraged about the fact that My Hope is coming to the Dominican Republic. We need the prayer support of people from around the world. As in every country, this will be a spiritual battle.”
