The My Hope launch meetings include a presentation that explains the concept of My Hope to church and parachurch leaders. Attendees have the opportunity to see promotional videos, footage from an actual in-home evangelistic outreach and training materials. BGEA representatives also stress the importance of prayer for these events.

By the conclusion of the meetings, the attendees determine whether they want to invite BGEA to help facilitate the project.

“I was very encouraged by the meeting. We had tremendous representation from key church leadership from all denominations,” said Greg Matthews, Regional Director of My Hope – Latin America. “We definitely saw a cross-section of ‘movers and shakers’ of well-respected leaders within Puerto Rico.”

BGEA has a target of April 2010 to broadcast My Hope programs into thousands of homes, where relationship evangelism will take place. Organizational, promotional and training activities are planned from now until then.

Puerto Rico is one of the last Latin American regions to carry out the My Hope project. To date, My Hope has been greatly blessed by God in 17 Latin American nations, with over 3 million decisions for Christ.

Among the affirmation given to the BGEA representatives, perhaps the most profound was from an older, well-known leader who has recently suffered strokes and nearly died.

“My eyes have now seen the hope of Israel,” he stood and declared. “We have been waiting for something like this to come to Puerto Rico for years. We must do this!”
